Abstract

Lambu District in Bima Regency, with an area of 9.91 km², is the center of micro-industrial development, including Nggoli woven fabric craftsmen and shallot farming. Although this superior product has development potential, craftsmen still face various problems such as weak business management, limited marketing, and low utilization of technology. The study identified that artisans experienced limitations in financial management, the use of internet technology, and managerial innovation, as well as problems in brand registration. This community service program aims to overcome these problems through business management and e-marketing coaching. The methods used include participatory, cognitive, affective, and skills approaches, as well as the stages of preparation, investigation, transformation, incubation, verification, implementation, evaluation, and development. The collaboration between the Community Service Team of Mbojo Bima University, Nggoli fabric craftsmen, and the Bima Regency SME Trade and Industry Office resulted in an improvement in business management and e-marketing capabilities. The results of this program show that artisans now better understand financial management and product pricing strategies, as well as utilize digital technology to market products more widely. Support from local governments and active involvement of partners in the workshop have strengthened the success of the program. With a new understanding in digital management and marketing, it is hoped that artisans can be more independent and successful in developing their businesses.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial Skills Education is an important program to improve entrepreneurial skills and knowledge, especially in the face of increasingly fierce economic competition. This program is designed to provide knowledge and skills and form an entrepreneurial attitude in participants, with the main goal of creating new business opportunities and improving community welfare. One of the PKW implementations was carried out at PKBM Arrahman in Talabiu Village, Woha District, Bima Regency, which focused on sewing skills training. This training aims to empower women by providing practical skills in sewing, which can be used to open an independent business or increase job opportunities. The training activities, which take place from August to October 2024, involve various learning methods including lectures, socialization, and practical training. With an approach that includes business opportunity identification, entrepreneurial learning, and business mentoring, this training equips participants with technical knowledge of design, material selection, cutting techniques, and fashion finishing. The results of the training showed an improvement in the sewing skills of the participants, which can now produce better quality products and reduce dependence on outside services. This training also has a significant impact in reducing unemployment in Talabiu Village, increasing community enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, and encouraging the opening of new businesses. However, for long-term success, it is important for participants to be more disciplined in financial records and pay attention to managerial aspects. Overall, this training not only improves technical skills but also has a positive economic impact on society, with the potential to operate optimally and sustainably in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a health promotion activity in increasing public awareness of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in Sakuru Village, Monta District, Bima Regency. The program was motivated by the low public awareness of the importance of PHBS, which contributes to the high prevalence of environment-related diseases, such as diarrhea and respiratory infections. The health promotion activity was conducted using a participatory approach, involving community leaders, housewives, and youth as change agents. The results indicate that the activity successfully improved the participants' knowledge and awareness of PHBS, with many participants starting to implement healthy behaviors, such as using proper sanitation facilities and managing waste. However, challenges remain in changing long-established habits. The evaluation suggests that the health promotion activity was effective in increasing public awareness, but sustained behavioral change requires continuous support from various stakeholders and collaboration between the government, community, and educational institutions.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PPM) was carried out as an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at Mbojo Bima University in response to the declining quality of character among the younger generation, particularly in Doridungga Village, Donggo District, Bima Regency. The growing phenomenon of moral degradation among adolescents necessitates strengthened character education through synergy between families, schools, and the community. This activity aims to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and awareness of parents and community members regarding the importance of character education as a foundation for shaping positive behavior in children. The method employed involved face-to-face counseling sessions through lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer activities, engaging 48 participants and three resource persons from Mbojo Bima University. The material presented covered the basic concepts of character education, character values, and strategies for developing character through intervention and habituation. The results indicated a high level of participant enthusiasm, as reflected by numerous questions related to the implementation of character education in daily life. Despite several challenges, such as limited time and varying levels of participant comprehension, the overall objectives of the activity were achieved. Participants demonstrated improved understanding and awareness of the importance of character education, providing a positive impact on strengthening the roles of families and communities in shaping the character of the younger generation.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the skills and economic independence of the residents of Talabiu Village Woha District Bima Regency, through training in the production of soft-boned bandeng presto (pressure-cooked milkfish). Talabiu Village has significant potential in milkfish cultivation; however, the added value of its products remains low due to limited post-harvest processing. The training was organized by PKBM Arrahman in collaboration with the Directorate of Courses and Training, Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, from July 1 to 20, 2025. The implementation methods included socialization, participatory training, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The training materials covered the potential of milkfish resources, the bandeng presto production process, sanitation and hygiene practices, packaging techniques, and basic marketing strategies. The results show that participants successfully completed all stages of the production process and produced bandeng presto with good organoleptic qualities (taste, aroma, and texture). This activity had a positive impact on improving participants’ technical skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and the economic value of local fishery products. It is expected that this program will continue through independent production and the development of small-scale milkfish processing enterprises within the community.
