Abstract

Kajian ini berfokus pada implementasi konstruktivisme dalam pengajaran kaidah bahasa Arab di IAI Sunan Kalijogo Malang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) untuk mendeskripsikan makna konstruktivisme dalam pembelajaran, dan (2) untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi konstruktivisme dalam pembelajaran kaidah bahasa Arab di IAI Sunan Kalijogo Malang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus. Aliran konstruktivisme di IAI Sunan Kalijogo diimplementasikan dengan tiga model pembelajaran, yaitu pembelajaran berbasis induktif, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri. Dengan penerapan aliran Konstruktivisme, belajar kaidah bahasa Arab menjadi lebih bermakna. Hal ini dikarenakan mahasiswa berperan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, di mana pendidik berfungsi sebagai fasilitator, bukan sebagai informan.

Abstract

Aim: This study aims to describe the implementation of maharah qirah (reading skills) learning using the Discovery Learning model at the Arabic Language Development Center (PPBA), University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia.Methodology: This research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation and documentation, with the researcher serving as the primary instrument, directly involved in understanding behaviors, interactions, and the contextual learning environment. Field notes and supporting documents were used to enrich the data.Findings: The findings indicate that the application of Discovery Learning, based on Jerome Bruner’s cognitive theory, follows several systematic stages: stimulation, problem formulation, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. The results demonstrate that students are able to learn independently, formulate hypotheses, explore the meaning of texts in depth, and derive contextual conclusions from reading materials, thereby connecting academic content to real-life experiences.Implications/Novel Contribution: he Discovery Learning model has many important benefits in the educational process, namely increasinglearning independence, enhancing understanding of concepts, increasing motivation and interest in learning, developing social skills,encouraging critical thinking processes, enhancing curiosity, and facilitating problem-based learning.

Abstract

Aim: The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model is a holistic and natural instructional approach that enables students to learn educational content in a contextualized manner, linking it to their personal and social daily lives. Through this model, students actively construct knowledge based on their experiences and interactions. In this study, the CTL model is implemented through the Speech Skills textbook used in the Department of Arabic Language Education at the Islamic University of Malang.Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, aiming to explore the implementation of the CTL model in the textbook and its contribution to improving students’ speaking competencies. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, focusing on the structure, content, and pedagogical strategies embedded in the textbook.Findings: The findings reveal that the CTL model in the Speech Skills textbook is not merely theoretical but practical and student-centered. It encourages independent learning, facilitates real-life language use, and enhances students’ motivation to express themselves fluently. The textbook integrates authentic topics and tasks related to students’ daily lives, making learning more meaningful, contextual, and communicative. This approach ultimately supports the development of learners’ linguistic proficiency, critical thinking, and social awareness, which are essential in mastering Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

Aim: Learning Arabic in Indonesia is still focused on traditional methods that pay more attention to language structure (grammar-based) rather than the ability to communicate genuinely. The application of the communicative approach in this study aims to enhance the skill of oral communication. This study is a deep study on the implementation of the communicative curriculum in the two-year credit hour system program at Zain Al-Hassan Qanqoun Model High School. This research was characterized by revealing the limitations and opportunities to apply this curriculum within an intensive time frame, which has not been explicitly discussed in previous research. This study also assesses the difference in students’ achievement in a competitive learning environment with a heavy academic load.Methodology: The data was obtained through deep interviews, direct observation, and document analysis.Findings: The results of the research showed that the communicative curriculum is able to drive an improvement in students’ abilities in speaking Arabic, but time constraints and imbalance in learning facilities constitute a major obstacle in the overall learning process.Implications/Novel Contribution: This study makes recommendations for improving the communicative curriculum in the context of the credit hour system, through adaptive pedagogical innovations more appropriate to dynamic educational situations.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh santri sebagai calon pemimpin di masyarakat. Pondok pesantren memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter dan kepemimpinan santri melalui berbagai program, salah satunya adalah program khitobah. Kegiatan pendampingan santri dalam menumbuhkan sikap pemimpin atau leadership ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan program khitobah serta dapat menumbuhkan sikap leadership di lingkungan pondok pesantren Ainul Yaqin Jember. Kegaiatan ini terlaksana melalui kerjasama dengan pengasuh pondok putri Nyai Siti Zaenab serta Ketua Pondok Silfina Rohmatillah dan para pengurus pondok pesantren Ainul Yaqin. menunjukkan bahwa program khitobah memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada santri dalam berbicara di depan umum, mengelola audiens, serta meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan tanggung jawab. Selain itu, pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh para pengasuh berperan penting dalam memberikan arahan dan evaluasi yang konstruktif sehingga santri dapat terus berkembang dalam keterampilan kepemimpinan mereka. Kesimpulannya, program khitobah di pondok pesantren efektif dalam menumbuhkan sikap leadership santri melalui pendekatan yang sistematis dan berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan program ini perlu terus dilakukan guna meningkatkan kualitas kepemimpinan santri di masa depan.

Abstract

Behaviorist-Structural theory is one of the important theories in language learning. This theory is a meeting between behavioral theory in psychology and structuralist theory in linguistics. The combination of these two theories not only creates new principles and views, but also has an impact on the development of language learning, especially second languages. This study aims to describe the behavioralist-structural theory view and its application in Arabic learning. This research is a conceptual study using descriptive-qualitative method. The results of the study show that several learning models that can be applied based on the Behaviorist-Structuralist view are: 1) Repetition of speech and conversation in Arabic, 2) Practice repeating speech with replaced isim/fi'il, 3) Practice expanding sentences patterns, and 4) Exercises for manipulation of isim/fi'il sentences. According to the behavioralist-structuralist view, the teacher and the environment play a major role in the success of learning Arabic as a second language, both in the formal (school) and informal environment (home/family).

Abstract

الملخص: إن أفضل الأساليب لتعليم مهارة الكلام هو الذي يشجع الطلاب على التحدث باللغة العربية. مدرسة العزة الإسلامية العالمية تصنع ابتكارا في تعليم مهارة الكلام من خلال تنفيذ برنامج الخطابة المنبرية أو المحاضرة. يوفر هذا البرنامج فرصة للطلاب لممارسة مهارة الكلام لديهم ولزيادة ثقتهم في التحدث باللغة العربية. فيهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة: 1) عملية تنفيذ برنامج الخطابة المنبرية في ترقية مهارة الكلام، 2) العوائق في تنفيذ برنامج الخطابة المنبرية لتعليم مهارة الكلام، 3) الحلول التي قدمها المعلمون في تنفيذ برنامج الخطابة المنبرية لتعليم مهارة الكلام. يستخدم هذا البحث المدخل الكيفي بنوع البحث دراسة حالة. ومصادر البيانات هي المعلم والمشرف والطلاب المشتركون في أنشطة التعلم. والبيانات الأساسية هي مجموعة من المعلومات التي تشمل على الأقوال والأفعال والوثائق، والبيانات الثانوية هي معلومات من مراجع أخرى. وطريقة جمع البيانات هي الملاحظة والمقابلة والتوثيق. بناء على نتائج البحث، يستنتج بأن تنفيذ الخطابة المنبرية بدئ بالافتتاح من رئيس الجلسة، ثم تلاوة القرأن الكريم، ثم تقديم الخطابة من الطلاب، ثم الاختتام بقراءة الدعاء والنصائح. وهناك العوائق المواجهة في علمية التنفيذ، منها قلة اهتمام الطلاب بالمشاركة، والأصدقاء غير الداعمين، ويشعر الطلاب بالخوف عندما تقديم الخطابة. والحلول التي قدمها المعلم والمشرف لمواجهة هذه العوائق وهي إعطاء المديح والتحفيز، وتوفير كتب خاصة بالمحاضرة، وتدريب الطلاب ليصبحوا ضباطًا في الكلام. Abstract: The best way to teach speaking skills is to encourage students to speak Arabic. Al-Izzah International Islamic School creates an innovation in teaching speaking by implementing the Stage Speech Program. This program provides an opportunity for students to practice their speaking skills and increase their confidence in speaking Arabic. This research aims to study: 1) the implementation process of Stage Speech Program in upgrading speaking skills, 2) obstacles in implementing Stage Speech Program, 3) solutions provided by teachers in implementing Stage Speech Program. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach. Data sources are teachers, supervisors, and students involved in learning activities. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the results, it is concluded that the implementation of Stage Speech Program began with opening by Master of Ceremony, then recitation of the Qur’an, the presentation of Speech by students, and closing with prayer and advices. There are obstacles encountered in the implementation, including students' lack of interest in participating, unsupportive friends, and students' fear of giving a speech. The solutions provided by teachers and supervisors to face these obstacles are giving praise and motivation, providing books for speech, and training students to become fluent in speaking. Abstrak: Metode terbaik untuk mengajarkan keterampilan berbicara (maharah kalam) adalah metode yang membuat siswa berani berbicara dalam Bahasa Arab. Al-Izzah IIBS menciptakan inovasi dalam pembelajaran kalam dengan menggagas program pidato (khitobah) atau muhadharah. Program ini memberi kesempatan pada siswa untuk melatih keterampilan berbicara dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri mereka saat bertutur kata menggunakan Bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti: 1) proses pelaksanaan program pidato di Al-Izzah IIBS untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara, 2) problematika dalam pelaksanaan program pidato sebagai strategi pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara, 3) solusi yang diterapkan para guru untuk mengatasi problematika dalam pelaksanaan program pidato demi meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini ialah para guru, dewan pembimbing, dan para murid yang berpartisipasi dalam program pidato. Data primer yang digunakan yaitu sekumpulan data yang mencakup perkataan, perbuatan, serta dokumen pendukung. Sedangkan data sekunder merupakan sekumpulan data yang berasal dari referensi atau sumber lainnya. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulan bahwa: 1) pelaksanaan program pidato terdiri dari beberapa susunan acara, yaitu pembukaan oleh pembawa acara, pembacaan Al-Qur’an, penyampaian pidato oleh siswa yang bertugas, lalu ditutup dengan doa dan pesan nasihat; 2) problematika yang dihadapi di antaranya minimnya minat partisipasi dari siswa, rekan sebaya yang kurang men-support, dan rasa gugup saat hendak menyampaikan pidato; 3) beberapa solusi yang telah dilaksanakan yaitu pemberian pujian dan dorongan, memfasilitasi buku-buku tentang pidato, dan pelatihan intensif agar menjadi pembicara yang fasih. Kata kunci: Bahasa Arab, trategi pembelajaran, program pidato, keterampilan berbicara.

Abstract

Society 5.0 gives a new nuance to learning Arabic. Optimizing the use of cyber as a learning medium adds to the attractiveness of santri in learning Arabic. The purpose of this study is to determine the concepts and implications of the Arabic language learning curriculum based on the adaptation of students in the era of society 5.0. This research is library research that collects secondary data from various kinds of literature such as books, journal articles, and information from relevant official websites. The data that has been collected will be clasificated, followed by an in-depth discussion. The result of this research is that the Arabic language learning curriculum based on the adoption of santri in the era of society 5.0 combines the pesantren curriculum and other appropriate modern curriculum. It utilizes the latest technology as a media for Arabic learning.

Abstract

In the historical context of Arabic language development in Indonesia, the initiation of Arabic education took place in informal settings, notably in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren). As time progressed, the prominence of Arabic language integration into formal education became more evident, spanning from elementary to tertiary levels. Arabic language learning involves four key language skills: listening (maharah istima’), speaking (maharah kalam), reading (maharah qiro’ah), and writing (maharah kitabah). Educationally, Arabic language proficiency is influenced by diverse factors, encompassing students' prior educational backgrounds. Field observations reveal that not all Arabic Education majors in Islamic higher education institutions originate from Islamic boarding schools, leading to variations in language competency levels. Consequently, this study focuses on assessing the impact of pesantren educational backgrounds on the Arabic language competence of students at IAI Sunan Kalijogo Malang, utilizing a qualitative descriptive research method. Findings indicate that students with pesantren backgrounds exhibit superior grammatical understanding of Arabic, while those without pesantren backgrounds excel in general linguistic and learning theories. However, both groups encounter challenges in mastering spoken Arabic (maharah kalam).

Abstract

Madrasah Diniyah telah memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan dunia pendidikan di Indonesia, khususnya pendidikan agama Islam. Dengan pengelolaan kurikulum yang baik, diharapkan Madrasah Diniyah akan selalu menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat, serta memberi dampak signifikan terhadap perkembangan pendidikan islam. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di madrasah diniyah melalui pendampingan yang terstruktur dan berkelanjutan, serta memberikan solusi praktis untuk mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pengelolaan kurikulum di Madrasah Diniyah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu analisis kebutuhan, perencanaan kegiatan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi berkelankutan. Program yang berhasil terlaksana dalam kegiatan pendampingan ini yaitu Penyusunan Kalender Pendidikan Madrasah Diniyah, Pengembangan Strategi Pembelajaran dan Kriteria Penilaian, Penentuan Standar Kompetensi Lulusan Madrasah Diniyah, dan Pengoptimalan Musyawarah guru mata pelajaran (MGMP). Hasil dari program pengabdian ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan efektivitas kurikulum Pendidikan di madrasah diniyah dan pondok pesantren, serta berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas Pendidikan di Indonesia, terutama Pendidikan Islam.
