Abstract

The group of Men Sex Men (MSM) is 25 times more likely to contract HIV compared to heterosexual adult men. The Bukittinggi City Health Office recorded that MSM constituted the highest key population in 2023, with a total of 573 individuals. HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts in Bukittinggi City need to be continuously monitored and strengthened, especially given the significant increase in the MSM population in 2023. This study aims to identify the factors influencing HIV/AIDS incidence among Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) in Bukittinggi City. The research employs a case-control design, with a sample of 21 HIV-infected MSM as the case group and 42 non-HIV-infected MSM as the control group, using questionnaires as intruments. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results showed that the dominant factors associated with HIV/AIDS incidence were Attitude (p-value = 0.001; OR = 0.019), Peer Influence (p-value = 0.037; OR = 7.993), and Experience of Sexual Violence (p-value = 0.039; OR = 0.141). These findings can serve as a foundation for more holistic and sustainable education and counseling programs that are trauma-sensitive and address risky behaviors as part of the HIV/AIDS response strategy.

Domestic Violence is a complex and pervasive social issue that occurs worldwide. Domestic violence is gender-based violence that occurs in the personal sphere. The prevalence of domestic violence is very high globally, with approximately 1 in 3 women experiencing sexual or physical violence from their partners at some point in their lives. The aim of this activity is to raise public awareness of domestic violence, increase knowledge, promote information dissemination, empower women, and engage in action plans for the prevention of domestic violence. It is hoped that this will help prevent the occurrence of violence, which can reduce the quality of life and health of individuals and their surrounding environment. The methods used include lectures and Q&A discussions between the speakers and 25 participants of the education session. The implementation stages of the activity begin with a pre-test, followed by the presentation of material related to domestic violence, its causes, various forms, its impact on various aspects, and its prevention. Finally, a post-test is conducted. The results obtained from the paired sample test show a p-value of 0.000, indicating a probability above the significant level (0.000 < 0.05). The conclusion is that there is an increase in the participants' knowledge about the prevention of domestic violence before and after the education session. It is hoped that the community can prevent domestic violence and support the creation of a violence-free environment.

Abstract

The 2023 Indonesian Health Survey data shows that the 15-19 age group accounts for the highest percentage of smokers (56.5%), followed by the 10-14 age group (18.4%). This data indicates that children are among the groups with a significant likelihood of becoming a generation of smokers. Lack of understanding of children regarding the dangers of cigarettes, widespread exposure to cigarette advertisements in various media, easy access to cigarettes without age restrictions, and the influence of the social environment have a significant influence on children to smoke. Providing education on the dangers of cigarettes needs to be done from childhood to reduce the number of beginner smokers. This activity aims to increase students' knowledge and awareness of the dangers of cigarettes so that it can prevent and reduce the number of cigarettes in children. This activity occurred at SDN 32 Andalas, Padang City, targeting all 53 students in grades 5 and 6. The methods used were counseling, distribution of leaflets, and installation of posters about the dangers of cigarettes. After the activity was carried out, there was an increase in the average value of students' knowledge level, from 6.25 in the pre-test to 7.58 in the post-test, with a p-value of 0.001 (<0.005). So, it can be concluded that the education that was carried out successfully increased students' knowledge regarding the dangers of cigarettes. Thus, it is hoped that students will be aware of the dangers of cigarettes and will be motivated not to smoke. It is also extended to SDN 32 Andalas to continue educating students not to smoke, implementing a smoke-free area, and strictly supervising students who smoke.

In Indonesia, the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) reported that 2% of adolescents aged 15-24 suffer from depression. Social and economic factors, along with the significant role of the family, greatly influence adolescent mental health, especially in reducing the risk of mental health disorders. Objective : This study aims to conduct a scoping review of adolescent mental health disorders and explore the role of parents in reducing the risk of these disorders. The primary focus is on how parenting practices influence adolescent mental health. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : A scoping review method was employed to map relevant literature on adolescent mental health disorders globally. Literature searches were conducted through databases such as ProQuest, Sage Journal, PubMed, Scopus, and Science Direct, selecting articles published between 2014 and 2024.
