Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the suitability of fictional character values in Grade IV Student Book Theme 8 with 18 character values curriculum 2013. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with content analysis approach. The data and data sources in this study are fictions contained in the Grade IV Theme 8 Student Book. Data collection in this study uses observation techniques and document studies that are reduced to be then presented in instruments and verified. Based on the results of the research obtained that the value of characters that appear in fiction in the Book of Students Grade IV Theme 8 amounted to 14, namely: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, respect for achievement, communicative pleasure friendly / proactive, care for the environment, social care, and responsibility. From the 14 character values, it can be known that the percentage of character appearance in fiction in The Grade IV Student Book Theme 8 is 77.78%. Based on the percentage obtained, it can be stated that the value of the characters in the fiction story in the Grade IV Student Book Theme 8 is appropriate.Keywords character values, fictional stories, Curriculum 2013, student book

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of character education in the era 4.0 in 3th grade students of SDN Kerten II No. 243 Surakarta in 2020/2021 academic year. This research is a quality description with a type of study case. The subject is seven people of 3th grade students of SDN Kerten II. The data collection is using survey, interviews and observations with eight indicators of character education is religious, honestly, discipline, responsibility, caring and cooperation. Validity data is using triangulation techniques and triangulating sources. Using interactive data analysis by Miles-Huberman. These research results indicate that the most visible character value is religious and less responsibility. The cursed from the inside is the lack of child's attention during the implementation of character education while the cursed from the outside is the lack of parental interest and the indicators of character assessment it’s hard to be measured. The solution that was given is to border a child in using technology, increasing good relationships with parents and designing indicators of measurable character judgment. This conclusion is the implementation of character education in the 4.0 era in 3th grade students of SDN Kerten II No. 243 Surakarta 2020/2021 academic year is good.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to upgrade Poetry Writing Skills through Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) in Grade V of State Elementary School Pasiraman Lor in the academic year 2018/2019. This research motivated by low poetry writing skills. This study will be held in 2 cycles, each cycle consist of 3 meetings, namely the planning, implementation, and reflection stages. The students of V grade that consist of 6 female and 10 male students are the subject of this research. Data collection methods are interviews, observation, documentation, and tests. The validity used is technical and source triangulation. Data analysis shows qualitative descriptive data analysis. The aspects assessed in writing poetry are the novelty’s theme and meaning, the power of imagination, the accuracy of diction, the exposures of exposition, and the teacher's affective response. As the results, the percentage of completeness of students' poetry writing skills was pre-action 23.53%, cycle I 58.82%, and cycle II 88.24%.The conclusion of this study is that poetry writing skills can be improve by using PWMI. Abstract

The objectives of this research is to improve and describe the results of the improvement of questioning skills through the application of Learning Starts With a Question strategy in 5th grade students of SD Negeri Tegalayu No. 96 Surakarta. The subjects of this research are teachers and students of 5th grade of SD Negeri Tegalayu which are 20 students. The techniques of collecting data are in the form of test, observation, interview, and documentation. The data validity used is triangulation source and triangulation technique. The data analysis uses Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The results of this research indicate that the improvement of questioning skills through the application of Learning Starts With a Question strategy in each cycle is 70% in cycle I it increases to 95% in cycle II. The conclusion of this research is the application of Learning Starts With a Question strategy can improve the questioning skill of 5th grade students of Elementary School.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) know the planning of learning evaluation through elearning during distance learning at SD Negeri Bunderan No. 164 Surakarta; (2) know the actualization of learning evaluation through e-learning during distance learning at SD Negeri Bunderan No. 164 Surakarta. This research is qualitative phenomenological research with a method based on the philosophy of postpositivism which was carried out for grade 1 to grade 6 teachers at SD Bunderan Surakarta. The result showed that first, the teachers had carried out distance learning evaluation or school from home has some planning activities by preparing materials, learning videos and optimally utilizing the availability of online learning media such as whatsapp, google form, zoom meeting, and google meet. Second, the actualization of the evaluation of distance learning through e-learning was carried out for grade 1 to grade 6 teachers was carried out in accordance with the 2013 curriculum by taking into the time for collecting learning evaluations, assessment and appreciation, feedback into words of motivation and enthusiasm, providing remedial for students, students as well as guidance for who have not submitting assignments. Although the learning went well, there are some problems such as the indifference of students’ parents.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the analysis of students' critical thinking skills in social interaction material in social studies learning for class V SD Negeri Bojong 03, Kawunganten District, Cilacap Regency for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data sources of this research include the results of students' thinking ability tests, the results of student and teacher interviews, and documentation of the results of students' answer sheet. The subjects in this study were 3 students who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using tests, interviews, and documentation. The data validity test technique used triangulation. The data analysis technique in this qualitative research uses data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model which consists of collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the percentage of explanation indicators was 55.56%, interpretation indicators 77.78%, analysis indicators 55.56%, evaluation indicators 66.67%, inference indicators 55.56%, and self-regulation indicators 88.89%. The most dominant indicator is self-regulation indicator. While the lowest indicators are three indicators, namely explanation, analysis and inference. The average percentage of critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Bojong 03 Kawunganten is 66.67%. Based on this percentage, it can be said that the analysis of critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Bojong 03 Kawunganten is in the medium category.Keywords: critical thinking skills, elementary school

Abstract

This study aims to describe the initial reading and writing skills possessed and the factors that influence by grade 1st students at SDN Jajar No. 73 Surakarta. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected using observation, interview, test and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results show that students still often make mistakes in initial reading and writing. Errors in initial reading and writing that are often done are mispronunciation of vowels and consonants, inaccuracy in reading the syllables, inability to read simple words and sentences, difficulty in pronouncing words containing digraphs and diphthongs, reads simple sentences haltingly, uses irregular intonation, uses a voice that is not clear, difficulty in copying writing neatly, precisely, and completely, often making mistakes in writing sentences based on the objects seen, and writing sentences read by teacher incompletely. The skills are influenced by factors from inside and outside the students. The overall results of the study indicate the initial reading and writing skills of some students is still low. Therefore, the teachers can evaluate the use of appropriate learning methods and models to improve students' initial reading and writing skills.

Abstract

The aim of this study 1) to know the correlation of parental involvement with mathematics academic achievement 2) to know the correlation between learning motivation and mathematics academic achievement  3) to know the correlation of parental involvement and learning motivation with mathematics academic achievement. The study uses a survey method. The probability sampling technique is the technique used in this study. The subjects of this study were the fourth grade students in Laweyan district of 2021/2022. The results of the study showed that first, there was a correlation of parental involvement with mathematics academic achievement which has a Pearson Correlation value of 0.430 indicating that the correlation level is moderate. Second, there was a correlation of learning motivation with mathematics academic achievement which has a Pearson Correlation value of 0.434 indicating that the correlation level is moderate. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the talents/giftedness possessed by elementary school students in Surakarta in 2022. The research used a descriptive method, with a survey technique of talent scouting of sports search model utilizing sports search software. The sample of this study amounted to 50 students, who were taken using the total sampling technique. The research instrument employed a talent scouting test of the sport search model. After the data were obtained, they were analyzed narratively to provide a more explicit meaning using the interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman. The results revealed that 35 students (35%) had potential giftedness, 31 students (31%) were less talented, and 34 students (34%) were not gifted. Research suggestions are to train seriously for students with talent, to keep training by adding training for less gifted ones, and to keep training seriously by increasing speed, agility, and endurance training for those who are not gifted. In addition, the identification results of students with potential in sports are needed so that later, these students will succeed in the right training process and can accomplish high achievements to support the development and improvement of sports success in Surakarta City.
