Abstract

Dietary compliance among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a crucial aspect of disease management, yet many patients in rural areas, including the Pengarayan Health Center service area in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, still exhibit low adherence. Several factors such as knowledge, education level, family support, and healthcare worker involvement are suspected to influence this behavior. Objective to provide an overview of the levels of knowledge, family support, healthcare worker support, and dietary compliance among T2DM patients in the working area of Pengarayan Health Center, Tanjung Lubuk Subdistrict. This was a quantitative descriptive study using a cross-sectional design. Total sampling was applied to 125 T2DM patients registered in the health center area. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires measuring knowledge, family support, healthcare worker support, and dietary compliance. The study found that 63.2% of patients had low knowledge, 51.2% received good family support, and 64.0% reported support from health workers. Dietary compliance was found in 50.4% of respondents. Educational attainment showed a strong relationship with compliance, where those with higher education levels were more adherent to dietary recommendations. Knowledge level and family support play a vital role in dietary compliance among T2DM patients. Strengthening education and involving family and healthcare professionals more actively could significantly improve adherence to dietary guidelines and better disease control outcomes.

Abstract

Clinical learning environment is the vehicle of clinical learning. However, a less supportive clinical environment may trigger anxiety in students while learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between clinical learning environment relationships and levels of anxiety in student nurses in the Nursing Science Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University, 2011. This research used a cross-sectional approach with 69 students as respondents. The data was collected by applying two questionnaires, SECEE and DASS. The study showed that 49% of student nurses have a bad clinical learning environment, and 56.5% of student nurses have high levels of anxiety. There was a significant association between the clinical learning environment and levels of anxiety, with Spearman rank analysis p-value=0.000 and r=-0.769. Application of a mentorship method is needed in any room while having clinical learning in order to increase trust, self-dignity, confidence, and competence achievement of students.

This study used a quasi-experiment design without a control group with the approach of one group pretest and posttest design. Objects in this study are the client's social isolation. Sampling was purposive sampling with a sample of 10 people. Instruments used in the form of sheets of observation and interview guides. Clients of social isolation pretest were conducted before being given AGTS, then do the posttest. The average value of the pretest was 31.5, and the posttest mean value was 40.1. This shows a decline in social isolation behavior after being given the AGTS. Data were analyzed using Two Different Tests Mean Dependent (Paired Samples) with a 95% degree of confidence. The results of statistical tests obtained p = 0.00 (p <0.05). This suggests there is a significant influence on the administration AGTS to changes in client behavior of social isolation. It is expected for hospital nurses to be able to improve the implementation of AGTS with respect to indications that the client can participate in the activities of the AGTS. Then the researchers next need to be examined by using qualitative techniques.
