Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is the top ten causes of hospitalization in pediatrics. Indonesia is a country with the highest dengue cases in Southeast Asia and Bali is among the top five highest dengue cases in Indonesia. Tabanan Regency is the district with the highest Case Fatality Rate (CFR) in Bali, which is 0.6%. Early and accurate diagnosis can determine the patient's prognosis, but the WHO classification of DHF has not been able to provide a definite value for the degree of DHF based on the results of an examination of platelets, hematocrit, and hemoglobin. The existence of a definite value from the examination of platelets, hematocrit, and hemoglobin for each degree of DHF is expected to determine the prognosis of DHF. This type of research is an analytical research method with cross-sectional study design. The data collection method used secondary data from medical records. The research sample was all DHF pediatric patients aged 0-18 years at BRSU Tabanan who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria obtained using a consecutive sampling technique with a total sample of 84 children. Data analyses are univariate and bivariate. The results of this study showed that there was a significant relationship between platelet levels and the degree of DHF (p = 0.023 and r = 0.248), there was a significant relationship between hematocrit levels and the degree of DHF (p = 0.045 and r = 0.219), and there was no significant relationship between hemoglobin values. with the degree of DHF (p=0.073 and r=0.196).

Abstract

Depression is a medical illness that could interfere with a person's way of thinking, feeling, and acting. People with depression usually lose interest in carrying out daily activities. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition which the treatment takes a lifetime. Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus have a risk of experiencing some complications that will worsen the prognosis of the disease. This study aims to assess the relationship between depression and the length of time of suffering type 2 diabetes mellitus in outpatients at the Karangasem Regional General Hospital, Bali. Analytic observational study and a cross-sectional approach was used. The research was conducted from November 2021 – to January 2022 with a purposive sampling technique and obtained 66 samples. The data collection method used primary data from interviews with people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Data was analised univariately and using Spearman rank test. The Kolmogorov test using SPSS showed a significance value of <0.05, so the data was abnormally distributed. Bivariate analysis shows that a p-value < 0.05 was obtained, which suggest that a significant relationship is present between depression and the duration suffered from type 2 diabetes mellitus. The correlation coefficient (r) is -0.664 which means that a strong negative relationship is present. Medical personnels are expected to make efforts to treat patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus without forgetting psychological impact of the patient. Treatment must be obtained by patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus holistically.

Abstract

[Relationship Between Nutritional Status and Early Menstruation in Students at SD Saraswati 3 Denpasar] Early menstruation is increasingly showing an increase throughout the world, including in Indonesia. Bali Province ranks second after DKI Jakarta Province in cases of early menstruation, especially Denpasar City, which has a relatively high prevalence of early menstruation, reaching 26.7%. In the preliminary study that the researchers conducted at SD Saraswati 3 Denpasar, the majority of early menstruation was 40%. Excess nutritional status is often associated with earlier menstruation. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and early menstruation in female students at SD Saraswati 3 Denpasar. This research method is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The research subjects were SD Saraswati 3 Denpasar students who met the inclusion criteria with a total sample of 180 people using the total sampling method. The independent variable in this study was nutritional status, and the dependent variable was early menstruation. Research data were analyzed statistically in two stages: univariate and correlation tests with Spearmen-Rho. The P value is considered significant when P <0.05. This study found that age was obtained with an average of 9,56±1,13 years. The highest normal BMI was received by 80 female students (44,4%). Menstrual status was experienced by 77 female students (42,7%). The age of first menstruation was at the age of 11, with as many as 30 female students (16,7%). Based on the statistical test results, a moderate correlation was obtained with the results r = 0.462 and p = <0.001 (p < 0.05). This study's results indicate a significant relationship between nutritional status and early menstruation in female students at SD Saraswati 3 Denpasar.
