Abstract

Tanaman Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) secara empiris berkhasiat untuk pengobatan demam (antipiretik). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk membuktikan aktivitas antipiretik infusa biji rambutan terhadap mencit putih jantan yang diinduksi vaksin DPT-HB-Hib. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yang terbagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu, kontrol negatif Na CMC 1%, kontrol positif parasetamol 1,3 mg/20 g BB mencit, dan tiga kelompok dosis infusa biji rambutan 37,5 mg, 75 mg, dan 150 mg/20 g BB mencit. Pengukuran suhu dilakukan selama 180 menit dengan interval 30 menit. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji ANOVA dan uji LSD. Hasil uji ANOVA selama 180 menit diperoleh nilai p<0.05 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan penurunan suhu yang bermakna pada kelima kelompok perlakuan, sedangkan hasil uji LSD selama 180 menit, dosis paling efektif adalah dosis III sebesar 150 mg/20 g BB mencit dibandingkan dengan dosis lainnya dan tidak memiliki perbedaan yang bermakna dengan kontrol positif (parasetamol) karena memberikan pengaruh yang sebanding dalam menurunkan suhu demam pada mencit (Mus musculus).

Abstract

Kenitu leaves contain flavonoids which function as antioxidants that can counteract the bad effects of free radicals, the antioxidant effect will be better if formulated in topical dosage forms. One of the topical dosage forms for use on the face is a peel-off gel mask, its use is easy to remove like an elastic membrane. This study aims to determine the physical stability of the peel-off gel mask preparation of kenitu leaves ethanol extract. The research method was experimental by making three peel-off gel mask formulations based on variations in extract concentration, namely F1 (2%), F2 (4%) and F3 (8%). Evaluations were carried out on the physical stability of the preparation, including organoleptic observations, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, dispersibility, drying time of the preparation, and viscosity. The results showed that the physical stability test of the peel-off gel mask preparation of kenitu leaves ethanol extract could be formulated in the form of a peel-off gel mask preparation, and the best mask formula was F1 with an extract concentration of 2%.

Abstract

Lip cream is one of the lip coloring cosmetic preparations in the form of a cream with a soft, creamy texture, easy to apply, can moisturize lips. The purpose of making lip cream is to know the formulation of a combination of teak leaf extract and red dragon fruit skin as a natural dye in lip cream preparations, effect of difference in concentration on physical properties test, stability test, and hedonic test. Teak leaves (Tectona grandis Linn., f) and red dragon fruit peel waste (Hylocereus polyrhizus) in extract with 96% etanol solvent and citric acid as color stabilizer. Lip cream combination of teak leaf extract and read dragon fruit skin has never been done before, therefore this research was carried out to increase the range of color variation of lip cream preparations. The concentratiob of teak leaf extract used is formula 1 5%, formula 2 9%, and formula 3 13%. The three formulations are evaluated for testing on organoleptic parameters, homogeneity, pH, smear power, cycling test, and hedonic. The results showed that a combination of teak leaf extract and red dragon fruit bark extract can be formulated as a natural dye in lip cream preparations. The most liked formulation in term of aroma, sensation of lips and color is formula 3 but does not meet the requirements, therefore there needs to be an improvement in formula 3.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai alternatif pengobatan banyak ditemukan di masyarakat desa. Salah satunya Desa Padamulya yang merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Cihaurbeuti, Kabupaten Ciamis. Sebagian besar mata pencaharian penduduk di sana merupakan petani yang sedang menggalakan kegiatan penanaman talas di Desa tersebut dalam rangka menjamin ketersediaan bahan pangan alternatif dari tanaman talas yang selain memiliki kandungan gizi juga memiliki manfaat yang tinggi. Namun, permasalahan di daerah mitra yakni pemanfaatannya masih belum optimal karena kurangnya pengetahuan dalam mengolah potensi sumber daya yang dimiliki sebagai sumber bahan pangan maupun sebagai produk kesehatan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk menginisiasi pembuatan produk hand sanitizer dari daun talas dan masker wajah dari umbi talas yang ditanam sendiri serta siap digunakan kapan saja. Metode dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pembinaan Masyarakat Desa Padamulya melalui penyuluhan dan praktik pembuatan produk hand sanitizer dari daun talas dan masker wajah dari umbi talas. Selain itu, kelompok ibu rumah tangga ini akan dibekali tentang bagaimana cara komersialisasi produk melalui media sosial untuk memasarkan produknya. Hasil dari program pengabdian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 16 September 2023 di Aula Desa Padamulya, Desa Padamulya, Kecamatan Cihaurbeuti, Kabupaten Ciamis pada pukul 13.00-15.30 WIB yang diikuti oleh 20 peserta yang merupakan ibu rumah tangga serta petani di Desa Padamulya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dihadiri oleh dosen anggota kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, mahasiswa, serta kepala Desa Padamulya. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah berjalan lancar serta para peserta antusias serta memahami materi yang disampaikan dan dapat terlihat dari hasil post test para peserta yang menunjukkan bahwa penyampaian materi dilakukan secara efektif. Kata Kunci: Talas, Desa Padamulya, Masker, Hand sanitizer ABSTRACT The use of plants as alternative medicine is often found in village communities. One of them is Padamulya Village, which is one of the villages in Cihaurbeuti District, Ciamis Regency. Most of the people there work as farmers who are promoting taro planting activities in the village in order to ensure the availability of alternative food ingredients from taro plants which, apart from having nutritional content, also have high benefits. However, the problem in partner areas is that utilization is still not optimal due to a lack of knowledge in processing the potential of the resources they have as a source of food and as health products. The aim of this activity is to initiate the manufacture of hand sanitizer products from taro leaves and face masks from home-grown taro tubers that are ready to be used at any time. The method of this community service program is to develop the Padamulya Village Community through counseling and practice in making hand sanitizer products from taro leaves and face masks from taro tubers. Apart from that, this group of housewives will be provided with information on how to commercialize products through social media to market their products. The results of this service program were carried out on September 16 2023 in the Padamulya Village Hall, Padamulya Village, Cihaurbeuti District, Ciamis Regency at 13.00-15.30 WIB, which was attended by 20 participants who were housewives and farmers in Padamulya Village. This community service activity was attended by lecturers, members of community service activities, students, and the head of Padamulya Village. The conclusion of this activity was that it went smoothly and the participants were enthusiastic and understood the material presented and it can be seen from the results of the participants' post test which showed that the delivery of the material was carried out effectively. Keywords: Talas, Desa Padamulya, Mask, Hand Sanitizer

Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition in which a person experiences excretion of feces more than 3 times a day accompanied by an increase in volume and dilu­­tion which results in dehydration and even causes death. The aim this study was to determine the antidiarrheal activity of ethanol extract tablets of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus L.) Merr. which contains tannins, flavonoids and alkaloids as anti-diarrheal compounds because they can inhibit intestinal motility. This test uses the intestinal transit method which measures the length of the intestine through which the marker passes. The number of mice used was 25 which were divided into 5 groups. The positive control group 1 used loperamide HCl at a dose of 4 mg/kgBW. Group 2 was negative control with tablets without extract, Group 3 with tablet extract 80 mg/kgBW, group 4 tablets with extract dose 160 mg/kgBW and group 4 with tablet extract 320 mg/kgBW. The results of this test show that in formulation 1 it has an activity value of 40.32%, in formulation 2 it is 43.21% and in formulation 3 it is 45.2%. Tablet preparations with the best results were in formulation 3 with an extract dose of 320 mg/kgBW which showed the best results

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in natural ingredients that have the potential as traditional medicinal plants, one of which is rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) which is empirically efficacious as a pain treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the analgesic activity of the ethanol extract of rambutan seeds and to determine the optimal dose of rambutan seed extract as an analgesic for white male mice. Rambutan seeds contain several main compounds such as flavonoids, tannins and saponins which are known to have analgesic activity. Rambutan extraction was carried out by maceration method using 70% ethanol, then phytochemical screening tests and extract drying shrinkage were carried out. Analgesic activity testing was carried out as many as 25 male white mice weighing 20-30 grams were divided into 5 groups. The treatment was carried out by administering the preparation between the negative control groups given 1% Na-CMC suspension. The positive control group or the comparison group were given paracetamol 1.3 mg/20 g BW of mice. The test dose group was given various doses of rambutan seed extract 37.5 mg, 75 mg, and 150 mg/20 g BW. Then observed stretching for 60 minutes, obtained the average stretch. The data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA test and LSD further test. The most effective dose is dose II 75 mg/20 g BW of mice. The results of this study are expected to prove that rambutan extract can empirically be useful as an alternative medicine for pain treatment.

Abstract

A peel-off gel mask is a cosmetic used for facial skin care in the form of a gel. Porang tuber extract peel-off gel mask (Amorphophallus muelleri) contains polyphenolic tannins which are efficacious as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the formulation of peel-off gel mask preparations of porang tuber extract and to determine the physical evaluation and antioxidant test of peel-off gel mask preparations of porang tuber extract using the DPPH method. Experimental formulation method with 7% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) base. The active ingredient used is porang tuber extract with a concentration of 0.5% (F1), 1% (F2), and 1.5% (F3). Evaluation of the preparations carried out were organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, drying preparation test, spreadability test, hedonic test and stability test. Based on the results of the stability test, it was shown that the peel-off gel mask preparation of porang tuber ethanol extract at various concentrations met the requirements for each test parameter. The antioxidant test results showed that F1 had an IC50 value of 48.75 ppm, F2 had an IC50 value of 43.18 ppm, and F3 had an IC50 value of 11.15 ppm which means that the three formulas have very strong antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Tanaman Teh tehan (Acalypha siamensis) mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang mampu membantu proses penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas penyembuhan luka sayat ekstrak etanol daun teh tehan dalam pemberian sediaan gel terhadap mencit putih jantan. Sampel terdiri dari 25 ekor mencit (5 kelompok), yang meliputi: kontrol negatif (basis gel), kelompok kontrol positif (ekstrak placetan 10% dan neomisin sulfat 0,5%), kelompok FI (5%), kelompok FII (10%), dan kelompok FIII (20%). Data yang didapatkan berupa nilai penyembuhan panjang luka sayat pada punggung mencit. Data hasil rata-rata penyembuhan luka sayat pada kontrol positif 6,8 hari, hasil kontrol negatif 12,8 hari, FI (5%) adalah 11 hari, FII (10%) 10 hari, dan FIII (20%) 7,2 hari. Berdasarkan lama penyembuhan luka, gel ekstrak etanol daun teh tehan pada kelompok FIII lebih baik dalam mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka sayat dibandingkan FI dan FII. Hasil analisis statistik dengan One way ANOVA (Analysis Of Variance) dikatakan signifikan (ρ<0,05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah kelainan kulit. Berupa jerawat yang salah satu penyebabnya adalah bakteri Propionibacerium acnes. beberapa hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa daun ketepeng cina mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang potensial sebagai antibakteri yaitu flavanoid. perlu diteliti potensi ekstrak daun ketepeng cina dalam sediaan facial wash gel sebagai obat antijerawat. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%. pengujian dilakukan dengan metode sumuran. Ekstrak etanol daun ketepeng cina (Cassia alata L), dapat dibuat sediaan facial wash gel. Hasil penelitian sesuai persyaratan karakteristik sediaan yang meliputi uji evaluasi organoleptik, pH, homogenitas, viskositas, stabilitas busa dan uji aktivitas antibakteri. Facial wash gel ekstrak etanol daun ketepeng cina (Cassia alata L) memiliki aktivitas pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes yaitu F1 diameter zona hambatnya 9,91 mm dengan kategori sedang, F2 diameter zona hambatnya 11,08 mm dikategorikan kuat dan F3 dengan diameter zona hambatnya 14,06 mm dikategorikan kuat. dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa formulasi facial wash gel Formula 3 yang mengandung 10% ekstrak daun ketepeng cina adalah fornula yang paling efektif terhadapa propionibacterium acnes dengan Zona Hambatan tertinggi 14,06 mm.

Abstract

Background: Diarrhea is characterized by changes in stool form to soft or liquid, with an intensity of bowel movements more than three times a day. One of the plants used as an alternative treatment for diarrhea is rambutan, particularly its leaves. Previous studies have shown that rambutan leaf extract can treat diarrhea. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the antidiarrhea activity of ethanol extracts of rambutan leaves containing tannins and flavonoids that inhibit intestinal motility. Methods: This study was conducted experimentally using the intestinal transit method, which measures the length of the intestine passed through a marker. The smaller the ratio between the length of the intestine and the marker, the greater the decrease in intestinal motility in the mice. Group 1: loperamide HCl at a dose of 4 mg/kg BW; Group 2:  placebo; Group 3: FI, FII, and FIII capsules at doses of 50 mg, 100 mg, and 150 mg. Results: The test results showed that Formulations 1, 2, and 3 had activities of 23.3%, 26.8%, and 32.3%, respectively. The capsule with the best results was formulation 3, at a dose of 150 mg. Compared with the positive control, the effectiveness of this capsule was 22% higher than that of loperamide. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that rambutan leaves extracted in capsule form effectively treats diarrhea. The one-way ANOVA test showed a significant difference between the FI, FII, and FIII groups (p <0.05).
