Abstract

Ringkasan: Latar belakang: Diare adalah perubahan konsistensi tinja menjadi lunak dan peningkatan frekuensi buang air besar yang dapat menyebabkan dehidrasi hingga kematian. Daun rambutan mengandung tanin dan flavonoid sebagai adstringen yang menghambat motilitas usus untuk terapi antidiare. Tujuan: Menganalisis efektivitas antidiare granul ekstrak etanol daun rambutan dengan metode transit intestinal pada mencit. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan 25 mencit Swiss Webster jantan, dibagi 5 kelompok: kontrol positif (loperamide HCl 4 mg/kg), kontrol negatif (granul tanpa ekstrak), dan tiga kelompok uji dengan granul ekstrak daun rambutan dosis 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg. Analisis One Way ANOVA dengan signifikansi p<0,05. Hasil: Efektivitas antidiare berturut-turut 23,3%, 26,8%, dan 32,3%, dengan efektivitas tertinggi pada dosis 150 mg. Uji ANOVA menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antar kelompok (p<0,05). Simpulan: Granul ekstrak etanol daun rambutan memiliki aktivitas antidiare berbanding terbalik dengan rasio transit intestinal. Saran: Penelitian lanjutan diperlukan untuk uji pra-klinis seperti kadar etanol, farmakokinetik, dan toksisitas.

Abstract

Aren (Arenga pinnata Merr.) is a biological resource that is thought to have antioxidant abilities and is easily found in all regions of Indonesia. The stem is used for traditional medicine to relieve itching and scars on the skin. The aim of this study was to find out whether palm frond extract (Arenga pinnata Merr.) can be formulated into a cream and has good quality. The research method used is experimental in nature by formulating the extract into three formulations namely extract concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3%. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative analysis including organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, and quantitative analysis including pH tests, spreadability tests, adhesion tests, viscosity and using One Away ANOVA statistics. The results of the analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the concentration of palm frond cream on pH with a sig. value of 0.279 (sig. > 0.05), adhesion of 0.544 (sig. > 0.05) and viscosity that met the standard of good cream viscosity, namely between (2000 - 50000 cps). Analysis of the research data shows that the three variations of the extract can be formulated in cream preparations and have standard quality cream preparations that meet the requirements, there is no effect of variations in the concentration of palm fronds extract. The test results of the antioxidant activity of palm tree fronds that have been carried out show that in Formulas I, II, and III the IC50 values ​​were 8.88 µg/mL, 9.89 µg/mL, 6.83 µg/mL and vitamin C had a IC50 of 0.726 µg/mL. The best antioxidant content was found in formulation III with an IC50 value of 6.83 µg/mL.

Abstract

Red rice (Oryza nivara L.) contains anthocyanin pigments which are a group of flavonoids that act as natural dyes and contain antioxidants. The aim of this research is to formulate red rice into blush powder preparations in 3 different concentrations, namely 10%, 20% and 30%, and test the antioxidant activity. This study uses an experimental method. Manufacture of preparations, evaluation of preparations and test of antioxidant activity. The physical blush powder evaluation results met the requirements including organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests and pH tests. However, there was a change in the color of the preparation during the stability test using the cycling test method on F2 and F3. The strongest antioxidant activity test was found in formula 1 (10%) with an IC50 value of 74.52 ppm in the strong category.

Abstract

The large number of problems and incidents of burn wounds has encouraged researchers to study pharmaceutical products for burn wounds, one of which is modified patch with biocellulose-based materials which have the ability to maintain a moist environment in the wound and absorb exudates during the inflammatory phase. To further increase the effectiveness of healing burns, biocellulose patches can also be fortified with natural ingredients, one of which is Moringa oleifera leaves. Moringa leaves contain saponin which is a compound that stimulates the formation of collagen, a structural protein that plays a role in the wound healing process and also has the ability to act as a cleanser so it is effective for healing open wounds. The aim of this research was to formulate a biocellulose patch fortified with Moringa leaf extract and test its burn wound healing activity. The patch is made from nata by fermenting coconut water using Acetobacter xylinum, then the patch is fortified with Moringa leaf extract in 3 concentrations (F1=3%, F2=6%, F3=9%). Evaluations carried out include organoleptic tests, pH, uniformity of size and thickness. The effectiveness test for healing burn wounds was carried out on experimental mice. All patch meet the physical evaluation test requirements. The patch in F3 had a burn wound healing percentage that was close to the positive control, namely 92.91% on the 8th day. Keywords:          biocellulose, moringa, burns, patch   Abstrak Banyaknya masalah dan kejadian luka bakar memacu peneliti dalam mengkaji sediaan farmasi untuk luka bakar tersebut salah satunya modifikasi sediaan patch dengan bahan dasar bioselulosa yang memiliki kemampuan untuk mempertahankan lingkungan yang lembab pada luka dan menyerap eksudat selama fase inflamasi. Dalam upaya meningkatkan efektivitas penyembuhan luka bakar, patch bioselulosa juga dapat difortifikasi dengan bahan alam salah satunya yaitu daun kelor (Moringa oleifera). Daun kelor memiliki kandungan saponin yang merupakan salah satu senyawa yang memacu pembentukan kolagen, yaitu protein struktur yang berperan dalam proses penyembuhan luka sekaligus mempunyai kemampuan sebagai pembersih sehingga efektif untuk penyembuhan luka terbuka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memformulasikan sediaan patch bioselulosa yang difortifikasi ekstrak daun kelor dan menguji aktivitas penyembuhan luka bakarnya. Sediaan patch dibuat dari nata dengan cara fermentasi air kelapa menggunakan bakteri Acetobacter xylinum kemudian patch difortifikasi ekstrak daun kelor dalam 3 konsentrasi (F1=3%, F2=6%, dan F3=9%). Evaluasi yang dilakukan diantaranya uji organoleptis, pH, keseragaman ukuran dan ketebalan. Uji efektivitas penyembuhan luka bakar dilakukan terhadap tikus percobaan. Semua sediaan patch memenuhi syarat uji evaluasi fisik. Sediaan pada F3 memiliki persentase penyembuhan luka bakar yang mendekati kontrol positif yaitu sebesar 92,91% pada hari ke-8.
