Abstract

This research highlights the political preferences of Generation Z within the context of the Prabowo-Gibran campaign on Instagram, a platform that has become a vital arena for shaping political imagery in the digital age. Through visual content analysis with a netnographic approach, this study explores how visual communication strategies and personal narratives are designed to respond to the dynamics of Generation Z’s political preferences—a generation known for being critical, visually oriented, and hungry for authentic representation. The findings reveal that Prabowo presents himself as a firm nationalist figure, symbolizing stability and traditional strength, while Gibran positions himself as an inclusive young leader, rooted in local innovation and the aspirations of a new generation. The use of aesthetic elements such as modern visual design, strategic hashtags, and the integration of AI reflects a clever adaptation to the digital language of Generation Z, which seeks not only information but also emotional and aesthetic experiences. This study uncovers that the political preferences of Generation Z in the Prabowo-Gibran campaign on Instagram are influenced not only by the substance of political messages but also by the campaign's ability to engage collective imagination through fresh, interactive, and relevant visual mediums. In modern democracy, Instagram is no longer merely a campaign tool but a primary battleground for symbolic struggles that shape the political preferences of the youth.

Abstract

This study explores the voices of Banjar migrant women who experienced polygamy, focusing on their lived experiences and the socio-cultural mechanisms that legitimize this practice. Employing a life history method, the research draws on in-depth interviews with Banjar women subjected to polygamous marriages in Serdang Bedagai, Indonesia. Data were analyzed through a systematic process involving data reduction, narrative presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that polygamy within Banjar society is deeply embedded in religious interpretations, cultural traditions, and social norms, all of which are reinforced by the authority of Tuan Guru (religious leaders) who frame the role of polygamous wives as spiritually honorable. However, beneath this constructed legitimacy lies a system of male domination that operates through three interrelated forms of power: material power, manifested in male control over economic resources; symbolic power, which enhances male social status through polygamy; and normative power, which restricts women’s resistance through religious and cultural justification. Together, these forms of power constitute a cohesive structure of gendered subjugation, wherein polygamy functions not only as a personal or cultural practice but as an institutionalized mechanism of oppression.

Abstract

Abstract

The religious tourism area of the Sunan Pandanaran Tomb in Paseban Village, Klaten, represents a significant cultural and local economic asset, with an average of approximately 10,000 pilgrims visiting each month based on management data. However, the operation of the Klaten–Semarang Toll Road has led to a decrease in the duration of visits and tourism-related economic activities. The main issue lies in the low level of digitalization in tourism information services, resulting in limited promotional reach, suboptimal visitor experiences, and underutilized economic benefits for the local community. This community service program employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving stakeholders through stages of problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The interventions include the development of a website-based information system, digital marketing training, and capacity building for tourism management human resources.Impact measurement was conducted using a pre-test and post-test design, with instruments consisting of structured questionnaires, participatory observation, and program performance indicators. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive quantitative methods to assess changes in participants’ knowledge and skills. The results indicate a significant improvement in information technology literacy, increasing from 60% to 95%, as well as an enhancement in operational digital system skills from 20% to 90%. Furthermore, user response evaluations show improvements in the quality of information services, the effectiveness of digital promotion, and the strengthening of destination branding. This program has contributed to improving the quality of tourism services, expanding promotional reach, and strengthening creative economic opportunities for the local community. It also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), through the development of inclusive and sustainable digital-based tourism.
