Abstract

Poorly managed raw material inventory can lead to cost inefficiencies, stock accumulation, and disruptions in production flow. PT Adi Satria Abadi, a glove manufacturing company, has experienced excessive leather raw material inventory due to a procurement system that has not yet been optimally implemented. This study aims to analyze the application of the Just-In-Time (JIT) method in improving the efficiency of leather raw material supply and reducing inventory costs. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach, using data on raw material purchases, material usage, inventory costs, and ordering frequency. The analysis compares conditions before and after the implementation of the JIT method, including optimal order quantity, total inventory cost, and storage efficiency. The results show that the implementation of the JIT method reduced inventory costs by 59.2%, decreased idle stock by 37%, and improved the smoothness of raw material supply by 36.36%. Therefore, the JIT method can serve as an effective solution for companies in managing leather raw material inventory efficiently and sustainably.

Abstract

PBA Surya Alam is one of the industries engaged in the natural stone processing industry (PBA) which has a fairly high risk of work accidents due to the lack of hazard control in the production process for workers. The application of occupational safety and health at PBA Surya Alam has been implemented, but its application has not been maximized, such as in terms of worker awareness in using personal protective equipment (PPE). From 2020 the cutting station experienced 7 work accident cases, in 2021 the cutting station experienced 4 work accident cases, and in 2022 the cutting station experienced 2 work accident cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential for work accidents, risk assessment, and efforts to control hazard risks in natural stone production process activities. In addition, this study aims to determine the most dominant risk controls and provide suggestions for controlling work accident factors in the natural stone production process. Therefore, this study uses the HIRARC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control) method, which is a method for determining potential hazards that occur, knowing risk assessment to determine risk levels and knowing risk controls to reduce the occurrence of work accidents. The results of calculations using the HIRARC and 5W + 1 H methods show that there are 6 cases of potential hazards recorded at PBA Surya Alam with each risk, namely 6 cases of potential hazards with extreme risk, then as many as 8 potential cases hazard with high risk (high risk), as many as 5 cases of potential hazard with high risk. Whereas for the 5 W + 1 H method in the process of cutting Natural Stone from the results of observations and observations in the field making control proposals such as installing SOP signs at Natural Stone production stations so as a reminder when operators are working, safety controls for employees and safety helmets to minimize falling products (PPE), and controlling the use of gloves.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out what are the most dominant work accidents, what are the impacts that occur from work accidents, as well as appropriate risk control adventures for work accidents due to 13 work accidents in 2021 to 2023 which cause a loss of 33 working hours day at PT Alis Jaya Ciptatama. The method used is the Hazard And Operability Study (HAZOP) method and Bowtie analysis to identify potential occupational safety and health hazards by limiting the probability criteria in quantitative and consequence calculations and analyzing the risk path from cause to consequence using a bowtie diagram. The results obtained are that the highest activity is in activity code 3b with an LI value of 38.3, then in the smallest activity code 2a with an LI value of 10. The risks that occur fall into the high, medium, and low severity categories, so the warning given What is given is to install machine guards and ensure the operator has qualified machine usage skills.

Abstract

Sewing workers at CV Cahaya Setia Mulia Abadi perform static and repetitive tasks, such as prolonged sitting in a bent posture and continuous sewing movements. These conditions lead to various physical complaints, including back pain (78%), lower neck pain (75%), upper neck discomfort (73%), as well as shoulder fatigue, wrist tingling, and lower back stiffness. This research is conducted to evaluate the potential risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) through the application of the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, determine the body parts most frequently affected using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire, and develop posture correction strategies based on anthropometric measurements.The REBA results indicate that most sewing activities fall into the medium-risk category (score 5–7), with some in the high-risk category (score 8). The intervention involved adjusting chair dimensions based on anthropometry, and adding seat cushions and backrests. After the simulation of improvements, the REBA score decreased to 2, placing it in the low-risk category. These findings demonstrate that ergonomic chair design and proper working posture significantly reduce physical strain, increase comfort, and help maintain worker productivity. This study offers practical recommendations for creating a healthier and safer work environment in the manufacturing sector.

Abstract

This research aims to produce compatibility between the policies of Abon Surya with the Economic Order Quantity raw material control method, namely the purchase quantity of the Abon Surya policy has an average purchase of 770 kg, for the frequency of purchasing raw materials for jack beans 5 times, for security and point supplies. There is no reordering policy with a total inventory cost of IDR 251,640. Meanwhile, the EOQ method has an average purchase of 1,313 kg. the purchase frequency is only 3 purchases, the security inventory is 90 Kg and the number of reorders is 204 Kg with a total cost of inventory required of IDR 173,254. The cost difference between Abon Surya and the EOQ method is IDR 78,386,417. This shows that there is a saving or reduction in the total cost of inventory needed if Abon Surya can implement the EOQ raw material control method. Apart from that, the packaging used at UMKM Surya Abon for shredded products still uses transparent plastic with stickers, which is less attractive to buyers. Therefore, a new design is needed to attract more buyers.

Abstract

This study analyzes defect levels, evaluates process stability, identifies potential causes, and develops quality-control recommendations for Brence golf gloves at CV. Cahaya Setia Mulia Abadi. Observation data and production records from January to March 2026 were documented using a daily check sheet covering 51 observations, including output quantities and mis-cut, hole, and thread-residue defects. The data were then analyzed using histograms, a p-control chart, a Pareto diagram, fishbone analysis, and a Kansei approach. Of 15,000 units produced, 917 units were defective, representing 6.11%. Mis-cut defects were dominant with 511 units (55.73%), followed by thread residue with 252 units (27.48%) and holes with 154 units (16.79%). Mis-cut defects and thread residue accounted for 83.21% of all defects. The p-control chart produced a center line of 0.06113; two observations indicated special-cause variation: the defect proportion of 0.03375 on January 2, 2026 was below the LCL of 0.03572, while the proportion of 0.21000 on March 17, 2026 exceeded the UCL of 0.11196. Fishbone analysis grouped potential causes into human, equipment/machine, method, material, and work-environment factors. The Kansei words were neatness, precision, cleanliness, smoothness, strength, and comfort. Recommendations include a maximum four-hour continuous cutting rotation, equipment inspection at least twice per shift, a maximum of two material layers for curved cutting sections, final inspection, a maximum thread residue of 2 mm, and needle inspection or replacement at least every eight hours. Their effectiveness should be tested with post-implementation production data.

Abstract

Labor productivity is an important factor that affects the effectiveness and efficiency of production processes in manufacturing companies. At CV. Cahaya Setia Mulia Abadi, several non-productive activities were identified, such as waiting for materials, chatting, searching for work tools, using mobile phones, and being idle, which potentially reduce production performance. In addition, inefficient work movements were also found, causing wasted time and labor. This study aims to determine the level of labor productivity, analyze work activities using the work sampling and time study methods, provide improvement recommendations, and analyze work movements through motion study to develop a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as an effort to improve work efficiency. The methods used in this research include work sampling to measure the proportion of productive and non-productive activities, time study to determine the standard production time, fishbone diagram and 5W+1H analysis to identify the root causes of inefficiency, and motion study to evaluate operator work movements. The results showed that the average production achievement reached 104.96% of the company’s target. Based on work sampling observations of 100 work activities, 88% were productive activities and 12% were non-productive activities. The time study results showed that the total standard time for the glove production process was 958.29 seconds or 15.97 minutes. The motion study analysis indicated that there were still several non-value-added movements, such as repeated tool retrieval and inefficient work transitions. Therefore, improvement proposals were made through simplification of work methods and the preparation of a new SOP to improve labor productivity and work efficiency sustainably. Abstract

Pabrik Tahu Kuring Yogyakarta merupakan industri kecil menengah yang memproduksi tahu, namun saat ini masih menghadapi kendala pada aspek pengemasan. Kemasan existing hanya menggunakan kantong plastik polos tanpa label yang rentan bocor, tidak higienis, dan kurang menarik secara visual, dengan tingkat kerusakan mencapai 10%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang desain kemasan yang memenuhi aspek fungsional, estetika, dan keamanan pangan sesuai kebutuhan konsumen. Metode yang digunakan adalah Quality Function Deployment (QFD) untuk menerjemahkan suara konsumen (Voice of Customer) menjadi spesifikasi teknis melalui matriks House of Quality (HoQ). Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi, ditemukan 11 atribut kebutuhan konsumen, dengan prioritas tertinggi adalah pencantuman label resmi (Halal/BPOM) dan transparansi kemasan yang memiliki derajat kepentingan 83%. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan kemasan baru berupa wadah thinwall berbahan Polypropylene (PP) tipe food container yang tahan panas dan kedap udara, dilengkapi stiker label informatif untuk varian Tahu Sutra dan Tahu Kuning dalam ukuran isi 8 dan 10 pcs. Analisis biaya menunjukkan kenaikan biaya kemasan dari Rp50,00 per pcs (kemasan lama) menjadi Rp1.107,00 (isi 8) dan Rp1.537,00 (isi 10). Meskipun terdapat kenaikan biaya, kemasan baru memberikan perlindungan produk yang lebih baik, higienitas terjamin, dan identitas merek yang kuat untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk di pasar.

Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this study is to optimize service time in a community health center. The average number of patients visiting is 100 to 300 per day. In certain units there is a heavy queue of patients which increases service waiting times, including registration units, inspection units, and pharmaceutical units. The initial observation data on the existing system shows the waiting time for patient services is 2,7 hours. This fact shows that the time of patient service on the existing system needs to be optimized so that the waiting time can be accelerated. This study offers a solution to optimize the service queue system using a simulation approach. The DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) Six Sigma method is used as a basis for analyzing the waiting time for services from an existing system. The results of the analysis are used in the simulation test to obtain improvement factors using several scenarios. The best simulation results are obtained with the scenario of adding operators in all units. Optimizing the waiting time of patient services using the best scenario simulation approach is shown by the decrease in waiting time of the queue system by 1,05 hours or 38,9% faster than the existing system.Keywords: System Optimizing; Public Health; Queue; Simulation; DMAIC Six SigmaAbstrak : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengoptimalkan waktu tunggu pelayanan di sebuah pusat kesehatan masyarakat (Puskesmas). Rata-rata jumlah pasien yang berkunjung adalah 100 hingga 300 per hari. Pada beberapa unit tertentu terjadi antrian pasien yang padat sehingga meningkatkan waktu tunggu pelayanan, antara lain unit pendaftaran, unit pemeriksaan, dan unit farmasi. Data pengamatan awal pada sistem yang ada menunjukkan waktu tunggu pelayanan pasien adalah 2,7 jam. Fakta ini menunjukkan bahwa waktu pelayanan pasien pada sistem yang ada perlu dioptimalkan agar waktu tunggu dapat dipercepat. Penelitian ini menawarkan solusi optimalisasi sistem antrian pelayanan dengan menggunakan pendekatan simulasi. Metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) Six Sigma digunakan sebagai dasar analisis waktu tunggu pelayanan dari sistem yang sudah ada. Hasil analisis digunakan pada uji simulasi untuk mendapatkan faktor perbaikan dengan menggunakan beberapa skenario. Hasil simulasi terbaik diperoleh dengan skenario penambahan operator di semua unit. Optimasi waktu tunggu pelayanan pasien dengan menggunakan pendekatan simulasi skenario terbaik ditunjukkan oleh penurunan waktu tunggu sistem antrian sebesar 1,05 jam atau 38,9% lebih cepat dari sistem yang sudah ada.Kata kunci: Optimasi Sistem, Layanan Kesehatan, Antrian, Simulasi, DMAIC Six Sigma

Abstract

PT XYZ merupakan industri yang bergerak pada bidaang manufaktur pembuatan plywood atau pembuatan kayu lapis. Pada proses produksinya seringkali ditemukan produk yang memiliki ketidaksesuaian (cacat) spesifikasi perusahaan. Permasalahan yang terjadi adalah delaminasi, pecah ujung, SC/LC kurang. Oleh karena itu diperlukan analisis untuk memperbaiki kualitas produk plywood maka diambil data pada jumlah total produksi sebanyak 19.082 dengan rata-rata cacat produksi 7,06%, pada bulan april terdapat cacat produk delaminasi sebanyak 89 produk dengan jumlah total inspeksi 1570 ditemukan cacat pecah ujung sebanyak 50 dan cacat shortcore/longcore kurang sebanyak 25, selama bulan April terdapat cacat produk sebesar 10,44%. Permasalahan yang dihadapi perusahaan terhadap faktor penyebab dari ketiga jenis cacat adalah bagaimana cara meningkatkan dan mempertahankan kualitas produk plywood dan dapat meminimalisir produk cacat. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengendalian kualitas produk plywood dengan menggunakan metode Statistical Process Control sebagai pendekatan yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab dari produk cacat. Tahapan penelitian yang digunakan dalam melakukan pengendalian kualitas ini yaitu: membuat check sheet, membuat diagram pareto, membuat peta kendali, dan membuat diagram sebab akibat. Pada tahap menghitung peta kendali P mendapatkan rata-rata nilai persentase cacat 7,06% dengan diagram peta kendali P menunjukan ada 2 CL yang melewati garis UCL yaitu terjadi pada bulan April 2021 dan bulan februari 2022. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada diagram sebab akibat terdapat empat Faktor yang menjadi penyebab cacat produk yaitu faktor manusia yaitu cepat lelah dan kurangnya konsentrasi, faktor mesin yaitu kurangnya maintenance dan pergantian alat yang rusak, faktor material yaitu kadar air terlalu tinggi, kerusakan pada mata kayu, dan keretakan pada kayu, faktor lingkungan suara bising mesin, suhu udara yang tinggi dan sisa potongan kayu jatuh diluar area.
