Abstract

PT XYZ is a company that has been engaged in metal casting for a long time. This company produces products in the form of wingnut spare parts. The production system used is make to order production. The obstacle faced by PT XYZ was that it was found that the setup operation process activity took quite a long time on average 40 minutes. If it continues to occur it will have an impact on delays. With these problems, PT XYZ reduced the setup time to overcome delays in completing the automatic molding machine wingnut product. Utilize the Single minute exchange of die (SMED) method to speed up setup. The SMED approach distinguishes between internal regulatory and external regulatory activities. Adjustment activities that only Internal adjustments can be made while the machine is stopped. The External Setup setup activity can be performed while the machine is running or operating. By switching to external setup instead of internal setup, setup tasks that were completed when the machine was stopped can now be completed while it is running, thereby reducing setup time. the setup operation of all these activities is carried out when the engine is off or the internal setup produces an average of 101 molds. Meanwhile, the setup time after implementing SMED can be reduced to 26.78 minutes or a decrease of 47.61%. This decrease in setup time increases productivity by 2 molds/day and if in a month with 26 working days it can add 59 molds so that in total it can produce 159 molds/month.

Abstract

PT Mitra Rekatama Mandiri merupakan perusahaan foundry yang memproduksi Engine Pulley Yst Pro. Pada Januari 2023 hingga Februari 2023, Engine Pulley Yst Pro memiliki tingkat kecacatan sebesar 6,4% yang berada di atas target cacat maksimum perusahaan sebesar 3% sehingga memerlukan pengendalian. Studi ini bertujuan guna mengendalikan kualitas untuk mengurangi jumlah produk cacat pada Engine Pulley Yst Pro. Metode seven tools dan five M checklist digunakan sebagai alat kontrol kualitas dengan menggunakan (Check Sheet, Stratification Chart, Histogram, Scatterplot, Control Chart, Pareto Chart, Fishbone Chart) untuk mengidentifikasi akar penyebab cacat kemudian memberikan saran perbaikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ada 3 jenis cacat yakni cacat keropos, cacat rantap, dan cacat bentuk tidak sesuai dengan total cacat sebanyak 899 cacat. Diagram Pareto menunjukkan jenis deffect yang paling banyak yaitu rantap dengan persentase 43% sejumlah 386 unit. Penyebab keropos adalah manusia, material, metode dan lingkungan. Rantap disebabkan oleh manusia, material, metode, mesin, dan lingkungan. Penyebab bentuk tidak sesuai adalah manusia, metode, mesin, dan lingkungan. Berdasarkan akar permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan perbaikan menggunakan Five M Checklist yang menitik beratkan pada perbaikan pada 5 akar permasalahan yaitu manusia, metode, material, mesin, dan lingkungan yang terlibat dalam proses pembuatan produk Engine Pulley Yst Pro. Kata kunci: Engine pulley, five m checklist, pengendalian kualitas, seven tools.

Abstract

Pada proses produksi kulit pada UMKM Paris Leather masih terdapat kecacattan saat proses pewarnaan kulit dan proses pembuatan produk kulit, dimana proses produksi kulit tidak sesuai dengan standar kecacatan produk yang telah ditentukan oleh UMKM Paris Leather. Dari data produksi produk kulit pada bulan Januari s.d Februari 2021 mencapai 933 produk lembaran kulit, 173 produk tas dan 155 produk jaket, masih terdapat produk cacat pada produksi dengan jumlah rata-rata cacat produk kulit lembaran 5 % per hari, produk tas 4 % per hari dan produk jaket 3 % per hari dengan jumlah produk cacat yang terjadi perlu dilakukan usulan perbaikan kualitas untuk mengurangi cacat pada produk kulit, maka dalam meyelesaikan masalah tersebut perlu menganalisis apa saja jenis cacat dominan yang terjadi pada produksi kulit, kemudian mencari penyebab cacat pada produk dan pewarnaan yang terjadi di UMKM Paris Leather. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Statistical Quality Control, Check Sheet, Stratifikasi, Peta Kontrol, Diagram Pareto, Diagram Sebab-Akibat, Diagram Pencar, dan Histogram. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan jenis kerusakan yang paling banyak terjadi pada proses produksi kulit adalah cacat jahit tidak rapi sebesar 50 % produk tas, 40 % produk jaket, dan proses perwarnaan kulit cacat lubang sebesar 50 %. Usulan perbaikan sebaiknya dilakukan adalah mengkaji ulang proses pengoperasian mesin, menggunakan check sheet, melaksanakan training, memberlakukan sistem reward and punishment, pengecekan material dan mesin, dan bekerja sesuai SOP.Kata kunci: Statistical Quality Control1, Produk Kulit2, UMKM Paris Leather3

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the inventory control system of PT Citra Adilancar which can minimize inventory costs by comparing the company's total inventory cost system. So a research was carried out using the Just In Time method to reduce excess raw materials and the kanban method to expedite the Just In Time course so that there is no excess raw material anymore. The objects of this research were plate raw materials, holo iron, angle iron, resin, talc, fiber, catalyst and putty with several variables. The dependent variable is optimal raw material inventory and minimum total inventory cost, while the independent variables are raw material inventory data, raw material ordering costs, holding costs, demand data, and ordering data. The method used in this study is the Just In Time and Kanban method, which can reduce excess raw materials and produce on time. With the storage method the company has a total inventory cost of Rp. 213,130,000. The inventory system with the Just In Time method has a total cost of Rp. 183,967,500. From the results of these calculations, the minimum inventory cost is obtained using the Just In Time method. And make related proposals to change the inventory control system. To create an accurate Just In Time system, a kanban card is then designed.

Abstract

Abstract Machine efficiency and productivity are key factors in the manufacturing industry to ensure product quality and smooth production processes. PT XYZ, as a company engaged in manufacturing, faces challenges in optimizing the performance of its Heading machine used during the production process. One of the identified problems is the high downtime, which averages 5,509.7 minutes per month during the research period. This study applies the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Six Big Losses methods to analyze machine effectiveness and designs improvement recommendations through the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach. Data collected over a six-month period, from January to June 2024, shows that the Heading machine has an availability rate of 86.63%, a performance rate of 87.93%, and a quality rate of 99.55%, resulting in a total OEE value of 75.5%. The Six Big Losses analysis indicates that the main factor affecting machine effectiveness is reduced speed losses. Therefore, this study recommends the implementation of TPM to improve the effectiveness of the Heading machine performance at PT XYZ.
