Abstract

Stunting is a global problem faced by the world and often occurs in children aged 3 – 5 years. The negative impact that will be caused by stunting in the 3-5 year age period in the long term is the disruption of children's psychosocial and motoric development. This study aims to see the relationship between motor and psychosocial development with stunting in preschool children (3 – 5 years) at the Baluse Health Center, Sigi Regency. The research design used was a cross-sectional study that assessed the relationship between motor and psychosocial development and stunting in preschool children (aged 3 – 5 years). The population used in this study were all preschool children (aged 3 – 5 years) with stunting in the Puskemas Baluse. The number of samples was 25 respondents who met the criteria for the research sample. The research was carried out at the Baluse Health Center, Sigi Regency from October 5 to 20, 2020. The research instrument used a questionnaire to measure the motoric and psychosocial development of children, while the measurement of stunting used microtoise and children's scales. The closeness and strength of the relationship between the two variables in this study used the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that most of the motor and psychosocial developments were in the abnormal category. The test of the relationship between motor and psychosocial development and stunting was carried out using the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that the P-value = 0.016 is smaller than the alpha value of 0.05, this indicates that stunting has a significant relationship with the motoric and psychosocial development of children. This study concludes that stunting has a relationship with motor and psychosocial development of children aged 3 – 5 years. Stunting children mostly have an abnormal motor and psychosocial development.

Abstract

Memory is one of the cognitive processes that is usually worse in older people. Improving cognitive abilities can be done with brain exercises. This study aims to determine the effect of cognitive function on the elderly before and after brain training in the working area of ??the Bontoramba Public Health Center, Kab. Gowa, 2022. The type of research was a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design using one group. A total of 35 subjects were selected using Purposive Sampling. Data collection was through interviews, while the MMSE (Mini Mental State Exam) instrument was used to measure the cognitive function of the elderly. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the analysis using the Wilcoxon test obtains Positive Ranks or difference (positive) values, which showed that there were 29 subjects whose cognitive function increased from the pre-test score to the post-test score, where the average increase score was 15,00 and the total score was 435,00. This means that there is a significant influence between the cognitive function of the elderly before and after the test. It is concluded that brain exercise has an effect on increasing the cognitive function of the elderly in the working area of the Bontoramba Health Center, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

Parents, especially mothers, have an important role in maintaining the health of their family members. The role of parents is very much needed in guiding, providing understanding, reminding, and providing facilities to children and their family members so that they can maintain their dental and oral hygiene. In efforts to care for teeth and mouth, the amount of information obtained by mothers will affect the efforts of the family's dental and oral health. Mothers will be better at teaching how to brush their teeth, arranging the correct snack patterns and various other efforts in maintaining the dental and oral hygiene of their family members, so that knowledge about dental and oral health will be better. The purpose of community service activities is that promotion about fluoride will increase mothers' knowledge in efforts to prevent dental caries and improve the level of dental and oral health in children. The service method with Health Promotion and Guidance About Fluoride in Efforts to Prevent Dental Caries in Children about fluoride as a promotional media to increase mothers' understanding of fluoride knowledge. The results of the Community Service activities are that knowledge about fluoride and the skills of how to brush teeth properly and correctly owned by mothers, improve the dental and oral health of their family members so that it will prevent the risk of dental caries, especially in their children. The conclusion of this activity is that there is an effort to prevent tooth decay by guiding children to always maintain the cleanliness of their teeth and mouth by brushing their teeth properly, correctly and regularly and using toothpaste containing fluoride.

Abstract

Aedes aegypti is a mosquito that can act as a vector for dengue fever. Aedes aegypti prefers stagnant water in a container, not stagnant water on the ground. Potential breeding places are water reservoirs used for daily needs such as drums, bathtubs, toilet bowls, jars, buckets and others. The purpose of this study was to determine what factors are related to the presence of aedes aegypti mosquito larvae in the Nusa Harapan Permai complex. This research method is explanatory research with a cross-sectional study with a random sampling technique, so that the number of samples is obtained. The instruments in this study were questionnaires and checklists using univariate and bivariate data analysis. From the research results, it was found that there is a relationship between the implementation of mosquito nest eradication (PSN) , there is a relationship between TPA, there is a relationship between the existence of solid waste and the existence of larvae and there is no relationship between the frequency of mosquito larvae visits and the existence of larvae. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the implementation of mosquito nest eradication (PSN), TPA, and the existence of solid waste with the presence of larvae, and there is no relationship between the frequency of mosquito larvae visits and the presence of larvae.

Abstract

Guidelines for midwifery care for perimenopausal women The task of midwives during menopause is to help empower menopausal women and their families through promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative efforts so that women can go through this transition period happily and prosperously and can still work and prepare for old age healthily. The purpose of PkM is The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge, skills of cadres about early detection of menopause symptoms and education about menopause, so that it can be applied to menopausal mothers and can provide accurate information about the symptoms of menopausal mothers so that the quality of life of menopause increases and can realize menopause. The method used in the PkM activity is The method of implementing this community service activity is counseling about balanced nutrition for menopausal women. The tools used are counseling materials, namely about elderly nutrition, leaflets, laptops and LCD projectors. The results of community service are the results of the pre and post questionnaires distributed to menopausal mothers, mothers who have good knowledge are obtained. The conclusion of this activity is an increase in knowledge about balanced nutrition during menopause.
