Abstract

Calcium is one of important mineral for female student to obtain the peak bone mass.This study aims to find out how the amount and adequacy of calcium intake, and the contribution of dairy products to calcium intake among female student. This study used a cross-sectional study design. A total 58 third and fourth level nutrition student were selected randomly as samples.Calcium intake is obtained by using semiquantitative FFQ that has been validated. The results of the study showed an average calcium intake was 630±395 mg/day, with 417.8±367.7 mg coming from dairy products.There was 13% student who obtained Requirement Daily Allowance for calcium. Abstract

Influencing of Deep Frying in Forming of Trans Fatty Acid. Frying process is one of the cooking’s techniques using vegetable oil. This process is commonly used in food industry, restaurants, food services, food retail and household scale. This is a laboratory experimental study which performed in laboratory of Public Health Nutrition FKM-UI and Integrated Laboratory IPB, Bogor from December 2005 until March 2006. It was conducted by two (2) type of treatment (used cooking oil ex cassava and meat) with 4 (four) times for each treatment. The objective of this study is to know the influence of frying by using deep frying (frying in high temperature and in a long time) and repeating to trans fatty acid formation in cooking oil. From the result revealed that fatty acid type mostly contained in a fresh cooking oil is oleic acid. Trans fatty acid was formed after second repeating of deep frying and increased in line with the frequent of repeating. Correlation test result had shown that negative association between elaidic acid (trans) and oleic acid (cis) (r = - 0,8; p value = 0.016). In accordance with the beginning of trans fatty acid formation, it would be better to use the cooking oil not more than twice.

Abstract

Background: Macronutrients are needed in greater amounts by pregnant women to meet their own nutritional needs as well as for fetal growth and development. Commercial milk formula formulated with special nutritional content for pregnant women are widely circulated in the community, so it is necessary to study the adequacy of macronutrients from the consumption of these products and their compliance with the requirements and information on the product label. Objective: To determine the relationship between consumption of commercial milk formula-pregnant and nutritional status, to compare macronutrient intakes between pregnant women who consume commercial milk formulapregnant and those who do not, and to provide an overview of the contribution of macronutrient intakes derived from that product to the values set as product standards. Methods: Cross-sectional study in Sawangan Subdistrict, Depok City on 225 pregnant women selected by total sampling. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using chi-squared to assess the influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable, and independent t-test to compare the nutritional intake of the group who consumed commercial milk formula-pregnant with those who did not. Results: The habit of consuming commercial milk formula-pregnant was significantly associated with energy, fat and protein deficiencies (p≤0.05). Macronutrient intakes were higher among mothers consuming commercial milk formula-pregnant than among nonconsumers, with average macronutrient intakes from prenatal beverages being in accordance with the nutrient requirements and RDAs listed in nutrition facts on the product label. Conclusion: The study results can be used as a reference for evaluating standard regulations and product monitoring as well as public health recommendations, especially for pregnant women's nutrition.

Abstract

Studies focusing on paternal confidence in supporting breastfeeding remain relatively scarce, especially in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to explore paternal breastfeeding self-efficacy among fathers in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach with ten participants, including fathers and mothers with children aged 6-24 months who had experience in exclusive breastfeeding. It took place in South Tangerang City between May and July 2023. Fathers participated in focus group discussions, while mothers underwent in-depth interviews. The data analysis utilized content analysis, referring to the theme of the Self-efficacy framework. This study revealed that fathers felt less confident when dealing with issues such as the baby's low weight, breastfeeding refusal, and the mother returning to work. However, seeing the consequences of not exclusively breastfeeding and the support from health workers and the community helped them stay confident. These factors, along with a sense of pride and satisfaction, strengthened their ability to support exclusive breastfeeding. Paternal breastfeeding self-efficacy is dynamic. However, previous experience, observation of others, verbal persuasion, and positive emotions strengthen fathers' beliefs. Parents need to consult a lactation counselor when facing problems while breastfeeding. Counselors can provide assistance and motivation to remain confident and continue to exclusively breastfeed.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah kunjungan di UPTD Puskesmas Mekarsari terjadi pada pandemi COVID-19. Upaya peningkatan proses pelayanan yang berkesinambungan dan konsisten perlu dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan mutu serta keselamatan pasien dan tenaga kesehatan di Puskesmas Mekarsari. Studi ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode eksperimen dan menerapkan siklus PDCA (Plan/merencanakan, Do/melaksanakan, Check/memeriksan, dan Action/menindak) sebagai siklus untuk perbaikan dan peningkatan proses. Siklus PDCA dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan mengidentifikasi masalah, melakukan upaya pemecahan masalah, serta mengevaluasi upaya pemecahan masalah yang telah dilakukan di Puskesmas Mekarsari. Dilakukan intervensi terkait perubahan alur pelayanan pendaftaran sehingga menyebabkan peningkatan kecepatan waktu pelayanan pendaftaran. Setelah dilakukan intervensi, waktu pelayanan pendaftaran sesuai dengan target mutu puskesmas. Kata Kunci: Alur Pelayanan Pendaftaran, Puskesmas, Proyek Peningkatan Mutu

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hipertensi Hypertension is a significant global public health challenge, affecting more than one billion people and being a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. In Indonesia, based on data from the Indonesian Health Survey (IHS) in 2023, the prevalence of hypertension based on blood pressure measurements was 30.8%. West Java is the 3rd province with a prevalence of 34.4% and the number of people with hypertension in Depok City in 2023 was 379,903 people. The WHO reports that hypertension kills one in eight people, making it a silent killer. The disease is defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic ≥90 mmHg. Although hypertension can be controlled, only 20% of hypertensive patients in the world have well-controlled blood pressure. The prevalence of hypertension increases with age and is influenced by various factors, including gender and unhealthy lifestyles, such as consuming instant foods. This study aims to determine the relationship between gender, age and frequency of instant noodle consumption in hypertensive patients in the Kemiri Muka Health Centre Working Area, Depok City. The research method used a cross-sectional design using univariate and bivariate analyses, involving 147 patients. Data were collected through questionnaires and blood pressure measurements, and analysed using chi-square and logistic regression tests. The results showed there was a relationship between gender and blood pressure (p=0.038) OR=0.329. There is a relationship between age and blood pressure (p=0.010) OR=0.147.  There is no relationship between the frequency of instant noodle consumption and blood pressure (p=0.693). Gender and age are important risk factors for blood pressure, while frequency of instant noodle consumption was not shown to be significantly associated with blood pressure in patients in this region. Further research is needed to explore other lifestyle factors. Keywords: Hypertension, Gender, Age, Instant Noodles  ABSTRAK Hipertensi merupakan tantangan kesehatan masyarakat global yang signifikan, berdampak pada lebih dari satu miliar orang dan menjadi faktor risiko utama penyakit kardiovaskular. Di Indonesia, berdasarkan data Survei Kesehatan Indonesia (SKI) Tahun 2023, prevalensi hipertensi berdasarkan hasil pengukuran tekanan darah yaitu 30,8%. Jawa Barat merupakan provinsi yang menduduki urutan ke 3 dengan prevalensi sebesar 34,4% dan jumlah penderita hipertensi di Kota Depok Tahun 2023 sebesar 379.903 orang. WHO melaporkan bahwa hipertensi membunuh satu dari delapan orang, menjadikannya sebagai pembunuh diam-diam. Penyakit ini didefinisikan sebagai tekanan darah sistolik ≥140 mmHg dan/atau diastolik ≥90 mmHg. Meskipun hipertensi dapat dikendalikan, hanya 20% pasien hipertensi di dunia yang memiliki tekanan darah terkontrol dengan baik. Prevalensi hipertensi meningkat seiring bertambahnya usia dan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk jenis kelamin dan gaya hidup yang tidak sehat, seperti mengkonsumsi makanan instan. Mie instan, salah satu makanan instan yang tinggi natrium, telah menjadi bagian dari pola makan masyarakat modern dan dapat berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan risiko hipertensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan jenis kelamin, usia dan frekuensi konsumsi mie instan pada pasien hipertensi di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kemiri Muka, Kota Depok. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat, melibatkan 147 pasien. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan pengukuran tekanan darah, serta dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan jenis kelamin dengan tekanan darah (p=0,038) OR=0,329. Ada hubungan usia dengan tekanan darah (p=0,010) OR=0,147.  Tidak adanya hubungan frekuensi konsumsi mie instan dengan tekanan darah (p=0,693). Jenis kelamin dan usia merupakan faktor risiko penting terhadap tekanan darah, sedangkan frekuensi konsumsi mie instan tidak terbukti secara signifikan berhubungan terhadap tekanan darah pada pasien di wilayah ini. Abstract

Anemia pada ibu hamil merupakan permasalahan kesehatan yang berdampak luas terhadap kesejahteraan ibu dan perkembangan janin, khususnya di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Data Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) tahun 2018 menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi anemia pada ibu hamil di Indonesia mencapai 48,9%. Kondisi anemia selama kehamilan dapat meningkatkan risiko komplikasi serius, seperti kelahiran prematur, bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah, hingga meningkatnya angka morbiditas dan mortalitas ibu serta bayi. Salah satu upaya preventif yang direkomendasikan adalah konsumsi tablet tambah darah (TTD) yang mengandung zat besi dan asam folat. Namun, tingkat kepatuhan ibu hamil dalam mengonsumsi TTD masih menjadi kendala yang berkontribusi terhadap rendahnya kadar hemoglobin dan meningkatnya kejadian anemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi hubungan antara kepatuhan konsumsi TTD dengan kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil di Kecamatan Sawangan, Kota Depok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional, melibatkan 225 ibu hamil sebagai sampel penelitian. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Uji T-independent dan Uji Chi Square untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara kepatuhan konsumsi TTD dengan kadar hemoglobin serta kejadian anemia. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa ibu hamil yang patuh mengonsumsi TTD memiliki kadar hemoglobin yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang tidak patuh, dengan perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik (p = 0,005). Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kepatuhan dalam mengonsumsi TTD berperan penting dalam pencegahan anemia selama kehamilan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan ibu hamil, seperti edukasi kesehatan yang lebih optimal, pemantauan berkala oleh tenaga medis, serta dukungan keluarga agar konsumsi TTD dapat dilakukan secara konsisten guna menurunkan angka kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil.

Abstract

Falls in the elderly are a serious problem because they can cause physical injuries, such as fractures, head trauma, and even death. Preventing falls in the elderly requires a multidimensional approach that is not only focused on the individual, but also involves the family as the main support unit. This review aims to identify family nursing-based fall prevention interventions. This systematic review method follows the PRISMA framework with article searches through Cinahl, ProQuest, Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Google scholar, and the Cochrane database of systematic reviews. The findings of this review revealed that of the 541 articles identified in the initial stage, nine articles met the eligibility criteria and were retained for further in-depth analysis. The results of the analysis provide insights into fall prevention interventions including; health education, mindfulness and psychoeducation, Otago exercise program, family involvement, fall risk assessment, and home modification. These findings have important implications for community health nurses in providing family nursing care, through empowering the family as the main caregiver in managing fall risk at home.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure is ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure is ≥90 mmHg. Hypertension is a serious health issue because it can increase the risk of heart disease if not properly managed. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated the global prevalence of hypertension at 22% in 2020, with Southeast Asia ranking third highest at 25%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of hypertension, according to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), is 30.8% among individuals aged ≥18 years. This study aims to examine the relationship between gender, age, education, employment status, and frequency of fried food consumption with blood pressure in hypertension patients at the Kemiri Muka Public Health Center, Depok City. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, with a total sample size of 130 respondents meeting the inclusion criteria: aged ≥18 years and diagnosed with hypertension, residing in the working area of the Kemiri Muka Public Health Center, Depok City. The study was conducted from November 13, 2023, to December 21, 2023. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and blood pressure measurements. The analysis employed univariate and bivariate methods using the Chi-square statistical test. The analysis results showed that 62.3% of respondents had uncontrolled hypertension. Chi-square analysis indicated a significant relationship between age and blood pressure in hypertension patients (p-value = 0.038) and a tendency for an association between gender and blood pressure in hypertensive patients (p-value = 0.058). However, no relationship was found between education, employment status, or frequency of fried food consumption and the control of hypertension. Keywords: Hypertension, Age, Gender, Frequency of Fried Food Consumption  ABSTRAK Hipertensi adalah kondisi dimana tekanan darah sistolik ≥140mmHg dan atau tekanan darah diastolik ≥90mmHg. Hipertensi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang serius karena dapat meningkatkan risiko penyakit jantung jika tidak mendapat penanganan yang baik. World Health Organization (WHO) mengestimasikan prevalensi hipertensi secara global sebesar 22% pada tahun 2020. Asia Tenggara menduduki posisi ke-3 tertinggi dengan prevalensi sebesar 25%. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah metode purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 130 responden berdasarkan kriteria inklusi yaitu berusia ≥18 tahun dan penderita hipertensi yang tinggal di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kemiri Muka, Kota Depok. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari tanggal 13 November 2023-21 Desember 2023. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner dan pengukuran tekanan darah. Analisis yang digunakan adalah univariat dan bivariat dengan Uji statistik Chi-square. Hasil analisis menunjukkan sebesar 62,3% responden dengan Hipertensi tidak terkendali. Analisis Chi-square menunjukkan ada hubungan usia dengan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi (p value = 0,038) dan terdapat kecenderungan hubungan jenis kelamin dengan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi (p value = 0,058), serta tidak ada hubungan pendidikan,status pekerjaan dan frekuensi konsumsi gorengan dengan tekanan darah pada terkendali dan tidaknya hipertensi. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, Usia, Jenis Kelamin, Frekuensi Konsumsi Gorengan

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a global health problem with an increasing prevalence. Most related studies focus on Diabetes Self-Management (DSM) in urban populations or general contexts, leaving a gap in understanding the specific factors affecting DSM among rural T2DM patients. Therefore, there is limited understanding of the factors that influence DSM in rural T2DM patients.Purpose: This study aimed to investigate DSM in rural T2DM patients and its associated factorsMethods: This study employed a cross-sectional design. The samples involved 146 patients with T2DM from the community health center in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, Indonesia, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ), Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale (DMSES), Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDFSS), and Diabetes Self-Management Instrument (DSMI) were used for data collection. The t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the data.Results: The study found a significant relationship between gender (p=0.001), knowledge (p=0.001), self-efficacy (p=0.001), and family support (p=0.032) with DSM in rural T2DM patients. However, the multiple regression analysis revealed that self-efficacy (β=0.392, p=0.001), gender (β=0.283, p=0.001), and duration of DM (β=-0.189, p=0.012) significantly affected  DSM in patients with T2DM in rural areas, explaining  28 percent of the variance  (R2=0.280).Conclusion: The results indicated a significant relationship between gender, knowledge, self-efficacy, and family support with DSM in T2DM patients in rural areas, with self-efficacy being the most dominant factor affecting DSM. This study recommends that community nurses can play a pivotal role in designing and implementing interventions enhancing self-efficacy. Additionally, the involvement of PROLANIS, collaborating with key community figures, is crucial to increasing community participation and support for effective diabetes self-management.
