Abstract

Not  all  mass  media  content  beneficial  to audiences.  Children  are  the  most  vulnerable group of viewers with the negative impact from television  and  technological  advances  of  the internet and video games. This study aims to capture  the  data  in  the  form  frequency  of watching  television  and  playing  electronic games on children in Semarang.The spread of datas were done by using two questionnaires,  namely  the  frequency  of watching  television  and  playing  electronic games.  Sampling  technique  was  used  in incidental  technique.  The  research  method used  was  quantitative  and  the  results  were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The  study  found  that  most  children  in Semarang  watching  television  and  playing electronic games for more than 2 (two) hours per  day,  while  the  government  recommends consumption of televisions and other electronic audiovisual media is a maximum of two hours each day, under parental guidance. This study is  one  fact  which  indicates  that  the  alert  of television and electronic games has not been noticed by parents, then it is further expected that  research  about  the  negative  impact  of television and electronic games.

Abstract

AbstractPsychological capital is a positive psychological state, characterized by having self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and resiliency. The findings show that psycap plays a vital role in the emergence of positive behaviors at the workplace. This study aims to conduct a literature review on the role of psychological capital in workers from various settings in Indonesia. The literature search is done through portalgaruda.org and onesearch.id database using the keywords "psychological capital,", "psycap," and "modal psikologis," resulting in a total of 32 papers (N=2569). We found that there are various effects of individual psycap on employment behavior, and that no studies have been found on psycap measurements or interventions. Hence, the latter could be used as the direction for future research. This study answers the question of psycap consequences for Indonesian workers and, calls future researcher to expand on psycap antecedent and consequences. Keywords: employee, psychological capital, and worker.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate the differences of job stress based on gender among correctional officers in three prisons in Java Indonesia. This study was a quantitative survey study focused on the comparison between male and female. The data were collected from 95 correctional officers from Bandung and Semarang prisons. The analysis of variance test (ANOVA) was used to test the study hypotheses. The results show that gender variable has influences on job stress, in which female correctional officers have higher job stress level than male correctional officers. Keywords: gender, job stress, correctional officers

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of coping technique in reducing working stress. The reduced level of stress was expected to make more optimal performance. Subject consisted of 20 correctional officers, which were divided into two groups. 10 officers were in experimental group, which were trained with coping technique, and the other ten belonged to control group. The research used quasi-experimental design with control group that was untreated at pretest-posttest. Working stress was measured with a scale in which each subject in both groups filled the work stress scale before and after treatment. Data analysis using the Mann Whitney U- test indicated that there was a significant effect of the application of coping technique as an alternative solution to reduce the level of working stress of the correctional officers (U=20.00; p=0.023

Abstract

Psychological capital in students is a positive psychological condition that enables students to deal with uncomfortable situation so that they could finish their study in college and prepare themselves to enter professional world. This study aims to test the correlation between family support and psychological capital in college students. In total, 126 students joined the study. Data were collected using the Family Support Scale (21 items; α = 0.892) and the Psychological Capital Scale (20 items; α = 0.892). Data analysis using simple regression analysis revealed a positive significant correlation between family support and psychological capital (r = 0.215; p = 0.008).

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the relationship between psychological capital with work engagement employees of PT. Bank Mega Regional Area Semarang. Psychological capital is an individual’s positive psychological state of development and is characterized by self- efficacy, optimism, hope and resiliency. Then, work engagement is defined as a positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. This study used proportional sampling technique. The subjects were all employees of PT. Bank Mega Regional Area Semarang which have staff levels (N=73). The research instrument was psychological capital scales with 28 items (α = 0.953) and work engagement scales with 29 items (α = 0.938). The results by simple regression analysis obtained rxy = 0.716, with p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). The results indicated that there was a positive correlation between psychological capital and work engagement. The higher psychological capital was higher work engagement. Coefficient of determination by 51,3, it meaning that psychological capital effectively contributed for 51,3 % of work engagement. The remaining 48,7 % determined by other factors that are not revealed in this study, for example: job resources and job demands.Keywords: Psychological capital, work engagement, employee

Abstract

The research is aimed to determine the correlation between job satisfaction, need for achievement, and dispositional resistance to change in a sample of 224 Diponegoro University lectures. The participants/ subjects are given three scales: job satisfaction scale, need for achievement scale and dispositional resistance to change scale. The results show a significant negative correlation between job satisfaction, need for achievement and dispositional resistance to change. The contribution of job satisfaction and need for achievement in predicting dispositional resistance to change is 24.9%.Keywords: job satisfaction, need for achievement, dispositional resistance to changePermalink :

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan tentang kesehatan membuat manusia semakin sadar untuk selalu menjaga kesehatan serta menjauhkan diri dari penyakit. Salah satu cara agar dapat memiliki hidup yang lebih sehat serta menjauhkan diri dari penyakit adalah dengan mengatur pola makan. Pola makan yang sehat biasanya dikaitkan dengan pola makan vegetarian. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi terhadap WOM dengan intensi membeli makanan vegetarian pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro. Intensi membeli makanan vegetarian merupakan kecenderungan yang mengarahkan seseorang untuk merencanakan pembelian makanan vegetarian. Persepsi terhadap WOM adalah penilaian terhadap pernyataan yang disampaikan oleh seseorang kepada orang lain nonkomersial baik merek, produk maupun jasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan 55 mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Diponegoro angkatan 2008-2010 sebagai subjek penelitian. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala intensi membeli makanan vegetarian yang terdiri dari 43 aitem valid (α=0,970) dan skala persepsi terhadap WOM yang terdiri dari 36 aitem valid (α=0,941). Hasil analisis dengan metode analisis regresi sedehana mendapatkan rxy=0,630 dengan p=0,000 (p<0,05), artinya hipotesis penelitian ini diterima yaitu terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara persepsi terhadap WOM dan intensi membeli makanan vegetarian. Arah hubungan positif antara kedua variabel tersebut artinya semakin positif persepsi terhadap WOM maka intensi membeli makanan vegetarian pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi angkatan 2008-2010 akan semakin tinggi dan sebaliknya. Persepsi terhadap WOM memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 39,7% terhadap intensi membeli makanan vegetarian. Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa ada faktor lain sebesar 60,3% yang juga turut berperan mempengaruhi intensi membeli makanan vegetarian yang tidak diungkap dalam penelitian ini.Kata kunci : intensi membeli, persepsi terhadap WOM, makanan vegetarianPermalink : http://www.ejournal.undip.ac.id/index.php/psikologi/article/view/2891

Abstract

Voice as a form of constructive expression in improving organizational functions and effectiveness has received great attention, especially in studies that explain the antecedents and consequences of employees’ voices. However, studies that explain psychometric properties of employee voice measurements are still limited. This article aimed to examine the psychometric properties, particularly construct validity, of employee voice measurement. In Study 1, three employee voice instruments were found through literature review from 23 articles in the last five years (2013-2018) from EBSCOhost and Proquest databases. In Study 2, based on the results of the literature review, the sound psychometric property test was carried out using confirmatory factor analysis. The results of data analysis prove that the Employee Voice scale of Liang, Farh, and Farh (2012) is an appropriate model for measuring employee voices with good validity and reliability.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara iklim organisasi dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) pada guru. Subyek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 60 orang, merupakan guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Mojolaban Sukoharjo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara variabel iklim organisasi dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan skor korelasi rxy = 0,500 dengan p= 0,000 (p<0,01).Kata Kunci : iklim organisasi, OCB, guruPermalink :
