Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the physical work environment of cracker factory workers in Sidoarjo. This study aims to find out which factors have the most influence among the factors of temperature, noise and lighting and the coloring of the work environment that are suitable for the work productivity of cracker factory workers in Sidoarjo. This research was conducted to improve the performance of Krupuk UKM workers in Gading Village, Krembung-Sidoarjo District by paying attention to a good physical work environment. The work environment is everything that exists around workers who can influence them in carrying out the tasks given. Working conditions where a good workplace includes a physical environment that can provide a sense of security, peace, and fun. The physical work environment is a work environment which includes several aspects that must be considered, these aspects include: a comfortable work space, safe environmental conditions, constant room temperature, adequate lighting, and appropriate room paint colors, so that a productivity result is achieved optimal work. The data analysis used in the study used the SPSS program aid with the linear regression method. The results of the study are the significance value of the correlation between productivity as measured through the completion time of the milling section and noise (dB) which has a significant correlation value of 0.364; productivity with lighting (lux) has a significant correlation value of 0.141 and productivity with temperature (OC) has a significant correlation value of 0.168. This proves that productivity has a strong relationship with noise (dB) with a significant correlation value of 0.364. The solution implemented to maintain work productivity related to noise is to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to cover the ears, namely ear plugs or ear muffs.

Abstract

PT. Karunia Selaras Abadi is a flexible packaging converting company. This company produces various types of plastic packaging for snacks, powdered drinks, soap, etc. This company produces more than 10,000 rolls and 1,000,000 bags every week so that the printing cylinders at PT. The Gift of Eternal Harmony reaches more than 3,000 items. The cylinder washing process is stressful for workers, thereby triggering fatigue which results in decreased productivity. Workers handle materials incorrectly using Manual Material Handling, causing workers to experience pain in their body parts. Workers' muscles receive continuous static loads over a long period of time, potentially resulting in musculoskeletal disorders. Thus, workers are asked to fill out the CMDQ questionnaire which aims to determine the level of ergonomic risk. Based on the CMDQ questionnaire, the body parts that workers often experience pain are the knee (left), shoulder (right) and lower back. Followed by an assessment of work posture using the OWAS method including the back, arms, legs and load, then completed with an assessment of work posture using the REBA method. There are 2 activities that have a high level of risk according to the OWAS method, washing cylinders using category 3 solvent, checking cylinders, category 3. For research on the REBA method, washing cylinders using solvents with a score of 8, checking cylinders with a score of 10, these results show that all activities require an improvement process.

Abstract

Supplier selection process is a step to evaluate and select the most suitable supplier to see the needs of the company or organization. This evaluation is important to ensure that the selected supplier is able to provide quality products or services, competitive prices, timely delivery, and meet ethical and sustainability standards. This research uses two methods, namely Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Taguchi Loss Function. AHP is used to calculate the weight of criteria, while the Taguchi Loss Function is used to estimate losses caused by suppliers. The criteria applied in supplier evaluation are quality criteria, product accuracy, delivery, price, warranty policy, and response to claims. The results obtained from this study PT. Bumi Makmur with a percentage loss of 21%, while the supplier that has the largest loss value is PT. Mergo Bopo with a percentage of 47%. Highlights : Integration of AHP and Taguchi Loss Function enhances supplier selection accuracy. Identified supplier exhibits substantial loss percentage, emphasizing the importance of thorough evaluation. Abstract

The study conducted at PT. Tjiwi Kimia aimed to assess the fatigue criteria and mental load experienced by production operators of cartoon box in the context of the company's 3-shift operation. Using the Bourdon Wiersma method for fatigue evaluation and the NASA TLX method for mental load analysis, findings revealed varying levels of fatigue and mental burden across different shifts. Notably, the morning shift exhibited "Good enough" speed fatigue but "Doubtful" accuracy fatigue, while the night shift showed "Enough" consistency fatigue. Furthermore, the mental burden was highest during the night shift, categorized as "High." These findings underscore the importance of addressing shift-related fatigue and mental load in industrial settings. Recommendations for implementing 3-shift rotations with weekends off and providing short breaks reflect potential strategies to mitigate worker fatigue and improve overall well-being. Future research could explore additional factors influencing worker fatigue and mental load, such as ergonomic interventions or technological advancements in production processes. Abstract

CV. Lima Cahaya, a printing services company, faced a significant increase in employee-related complaints from 2021 to 2022, primarily due to lack of thoroughness linked to boredom. This study aimed to analyze the impact of physical and non-physical work environments and psychological conditions on employee boredom. Using a questionnaire completed by 20 employees and analyzed through multiple linear regression and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), results showed that improvements in the work environment significantly reduce boredom (Y=0.721+0.547X1+0.339X2+0.088X3). The high satisfaction levels (above 80%) indicate that the current environment meets employee expectations, providing insights for management to enhance employee performance and reduce complaints. Highlight: Complaint Rise: 37% increase in employee complaints due to boredom. Influential Factors: Work environment and psychological conditions affect employee boredom. Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company that focuses on providing construction materials such as ready mix concrete. The workforce is currently in decline due to the reduced prevalence of work behavior. The initial 1 hour produced 100m3 but the realization in the Company only produced 50m3. The purpose of this study was to measure the potential risk of musculoskeletal injury caused by non-ergonomic work postures. The methods used in this study are Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaires (CMDQ), Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA), Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). This study found a significant relationship between the level of musculoskeletal discomfort obtained in respondents through CMDQ with ergonomic risk factors identified through RULA and REBA analysis. These can include poor body position, repetitive movements, or excessive workload. These findings could help in the development of theories regarding ergonomics and factors related to worker health and well-being.

Abstract

One of the MSMEs engaged in the snack food sector and currently running is the taro chips business owned by Mr. Wahab which is located at Tambak Sari Village, Purwodadi Pasuruan, East Java. Business running for 1 year. Chips are snacks or snacks made from various ingredients such as flour and others, and also from tubers. Based on the results of interviews and observations obtained from consumers, the problem that is often complained of is the packaging used, which is thin plastic and easily torn or perforated. So that the condition of the chips is easily sluggish or not crispy. Kansei engineering is a technology that translates a customer's or consumer's feeling and image about a product which is then translated into design elements or in other languages, is a customer-oriented technology for product development based on computer science. The purpose of the Kansei engineering method is to make it easier for designers to gather consumer needs based on feelings or what can be called consumer psychology. The Kansei method will be integrated with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to decide whether the new packaging is more feasible and good or not. The results showed that the packaging of taro chips was a simple design, bright color, and plastic material from the Kansei Engineering and AHP methods. The packaging is strong and durable so that it can maintain the crispness of the chips.

Abstract

The production process is a way, method and technique for creating or increasing the usefulness of a good or service using existing resources (labor, machines, materials, funds). CV. ABC is a company that focuses on the steel processing industry sector. This company's specialization includes making various products, such as fences, canopies, stairs, and building structures such as warehouses and housing. The purpose of carrying out this activity is to observe the production process of making fences and analyze the production process using a production process map (Operation Process Chart) and Bill of Materials. Based on field observations using the production process map at CV. It can be seen from Tiga Karya Persada Indonesia that making 1 fence takes a total of 795 minutes, consisting of 6 operational processes with a total time of 630 minutes and there are 8 inspection processes with a total time of 165 minutes.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in the engineering and manufacturing sector through a five-month empirical investigation focused on production processes. Utilizing a combination of literature review, interviews, and direct observation, the research aimed to compare theoretical MRP calculations with actual raw material usage. Results highlighted significant discrepancies between projected and actual figures, indicating potential inaccuracies in current MRP applications. These findings underscore the need for refining MRP systems to enhance forecasting precision and inventory management, suggesting that integrating real-time data and improving algorithmic methodologies could bridge the existing gap between theory and practice in industrial manufacturing. Abstract

This study aims to create a concrete sales forecasting system using the moving average method to predict sales for the next month in order to determine the amount of production that must be supplied in the next period. The study uses the moving average method which is widely used and has accuracy in forecasting. The results obtained mean error of 32630.95, MAD of 224532, MSE of 80977550000, standard error of 318154, Mape of 12.621% and average forecast of 1960074.0. The study implies that the moving average method is an effective tool for sales forecasting and can be used to make informed decisions about production planning and estimating future growth Highlight : The study aims to create a concrete sales forecasting system using the moving average method.
