Abstract

The STM32 microcontroller technology workshop, held in the Greater Bandung region, was a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing the skills of vocational high school educators. It provided in-depth knowledge and practical experience in advanced STM32 features like GPIO, ADC, PWM, and UART communication. The workshop employed an active, participant-focused approach, ensuring impactful learning. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with high satisfaction rates in content quality (83.5%), delivery method (81.75%), and hands-on activities (79.25%). However, suggestions for improvement included better preparatory materials and post-workshop support. Overall, the workshop marked a significant step in advancing the professional development of educators and elevating the quality of technical and vocational education in the region.

Abstract

Block ciphers are used to protect data in information systems from being leaked to unauthorized people. One of many block cipher algorithms developed by Indonesian researchers is the BCF (Block Cipher-Four) - a block cipher with 128-bit input/output that can accept 128-bit, 192-bit, or 256-bit keys. The BCF algorithm can be used in embedded systems that require fast BCF implementation. In this study, the design and implementation of the BCF engine were carried out on the FPGA DE2. It is the first research on BCF implementation in FPGA. The operations of the BCF machine were controlled by Nios II as the host processor. Our experiments showed that the BCF engine could compute 2,847 times faster than a BFC implementation using only Nios II / e. Our contribution presents the description of new block cipher BCF and the first implementation of it on FPGA using an efficient method.

Abstract

The industrial revolution has brought about inevitable changes in human life, and no sector is exempt from this transformation. Education, as the foundation for the future, faces immense pressure to adapt to technological advancements. In the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the role of teachers becomes increasingly significant. To ensure that they possess the necessary qualifications, training initiatives like the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) PowerPoint are highly relevant. We, as part of our commitment to enhancing education in Pangandaran, have decided to hold a MOS PowerPoint training session specifically targeted at the teachers of SMPN 1 Cimerak. This is because the teachers at SMPN 1 Cimerak are not yet able to utilize all the features in the PowerPoint application. The approach we use in this training is based on the proven GOAD method. The first stage is the training needs assessment, where we collaborate with the teachers to understand the challenges they face. Based on these findings, we design a relevant and efficient training method. Our training materials are tailored to the needs of the teachers and the latest technological developments. Training sessions are held with enthusiasm and interactivity, allowing teachers to learn practically. After the training, we conduct a thorough evaluation to ensure proper understanding. If necessary, we update our training materials based on teacher feedback. This initiative is a crucial step in preparing educators to face the challenges of the present era. With MOS PowerPoint skills, teachers can be more effective in delivering lesson material and assist students in developing competencies relevant to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The dedication carried out at SMPN 1 Cimerak Pangandaran went smoothly; the material presented was found to be interesting by the participants. Moreover, participants felt the presenter conveyed the material very well. Keywords: Microsoft Office Specialist, Goad Method, Power Point Abstrak Revolusi industri telah membawa perubahan tak terhindarkan dalam kehidupan manusia, dan tidak ada sektor yang terlepas dari transformasi ini. Pendidikan, sebagai fondasi masa depan, menghadapi tekanan besar untuk beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi. Dalam konteks Revolusi Industri 4.0, peran guru menjadi semakin penting. Untuk memastikan bahwa mereka memiliki kualifikasi yang diperlukan, inisiatif pelatihan seperti Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) PowerPoint sangat relevan. Kami, sebagai bagian dari komitmen kami terhadap peningkatan pendidikan di Pangandaran, telah memutuskan untuk mengadakan sesi pelatihan MOS PowerPoint yang khusus ditujukan untuk guru-guru SMPN 1 Cimerak. Hal ini dikarenakan guru-guru di SMPN 1 Cimerak belum mampu menggunakan semua fitur yang ada di applikas Power Point. Metoda pendekatan yang kami gunakan dalam pelatihan ini didasarkan pada pendekatan GOAD yang terbukti efektif. Tahap pertama adalah penilaian kebutuhan pelatihan, di mana kami bekerja sama dengan para guru untuk memahami tantangan yang mereka hadapi. Berdasarkan hasil ini, kami merancang metode pelatihan yang relevan dan efisien. Materi pelatihan kami dirancang sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dan perkembangan teknologi terkini. Sesi pelatihan diadakan dengan penuh semangat dan interaktif, memungkinkan guru untuk belajar secara praktis. Setelah pelatihan, kami melakukan evaluasi mendalam untuk memastikan pemahaman yang tepat. Jika diperlukan, kami memperbarui materi pelatihan kami sesuai dengan umpan balik guru. Inisiatif ini merupakan langkah penting dalam mempersiapkan para pendidik untuk menghadapi tantangan zaman sekarang. Dengan keterampilan MOS PowerPoint, para guru dapat lebih efektif dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran dan membantu siswa mengembangkan kompetensi yang relevan dengan Revolusi Industri 4.0. Pengabdian yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Cimerak Pangandaran berjalan dengan lancar, materi yang disampaikan dirasa menarik oleh para peserta, selain itu peserta merasa pemateri dapat menyampaikan materi dengan sangat baik. Abstract

This study aims to design and evaluate an Augmented Reality (AR) application for workshop tool recognition, with a focus on enhancing interactivity and student engagement in technical education. Developed using the ADDIE methodology—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—the application integrates Blender for 3D modelling, Unity for development, and Vuforia for AR tracking. Usability was assessed through the System Usability Scale (SUS), involving 48 students from workshop practicum and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) courses. The application achieved a SUS score of 50.5, classified as Fair according to the classification by Bangor et al. (2009). Key usability aspects were rated positively, including comfort (4.2), ease of use (4.0), functional integration (3.9), stability (4.1), and ease of learning (4.3). While the study highlights the application's potential as an effective learning tool, limitations include a small, institution-specific sample size. Future research should examine its adaptability in broader educational contexts and assess its impact on student learning outcomes. This study supports the integration of AR in technical education, fostering more interactive, efficient, and Industry 4.0-aligned learning environments.

Abstract

Flooding remains a significant issue in Majalaya Village, Bandung Regency, West Java, due to its geographical location near the Citarum River. This community service project aimed to enhance disaster mitigation efforts by training village youth to design and implement a flood detection system. The system utilized ESP32 microcontrollers, infrared sensors, and solar-powered technology to provide early flood warnings. Through a structured training program, participants gained practical skills in assembling, installing, and maintaining the system. The project emphasized community ownership, ensuring sustainability and fostering collaboration among local stakeholders. Evaluation results indicated high participant satisfaction and confidence in system operation, though follow-up support is recommended for long-term success. The initiative serves as a potential model for other flood-prone regions seeking community-driven disaster mitigation solutions.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan kapasitor bank di Desa Cipada bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam efisiensi energi listrik. Kegiatan ini mencakup teori mengenai kapasitor bank dan praktik langsung pemasangannya pada instalasi listrik rumah tangga. Peserta diajarkan cara mengelola daya reaktif guna meningkatkan faktor daya dan stabilitas tegangan, yang berdampak pada penghematan energi dan penurunan biaya listrik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan respons positif dari peserta, yang merasa percaya diri menerapkan keterampilan tersebut di rumah mereka. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya efisiensi energi sekaligus mendorong pengelolaan sumber daya listrik yang lebih baik di tingkat komunitas.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the competency of vocational school teachers in the electro field across Bandung Raya by providing training on the utilization of IoT EduTrainer technology. The workshop followed the ADDIE model, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of IoT implementation, including case studies on smart greenhouse monitoring, RFID-based door locks, and automated watering systems. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, gaining practical experience in setting up IoT systems using Blynk and MQTT platforms. The evaluation of the workshop, conducted through Likert-scale-based questionnaires, revealed a high level of participant satisfaction in terms of content quality, material delivery, and the practical sessions. Although the workshop was successful in achieving its objectives, feedback suggested that allocating additional time for hands-on exercises would further enhance participant understanding and the application of IoT concepts. This training has equipped teachers with valuable skills for integrating IoT into their curricula and has supported the development of future-ready students capable of thriving in the Industry 4.0 era.

Abstract

Motor induksi dikenal karena keunggulan dalam konstruksi sederhana, ketahanan terhadap beban, dan efisiensi yang tinggi, namun memiliki potensi kerusakan yang dapat mengurangi efisiensi operasional. Sebagai solusi, sistem monitoring kerusakan motor induksi berbasis IoT dikembangkan dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler Arduino yang terintegrasi dengan ESP 01. Pengujian meliputi pengukuran akurasi sensor dalam berbagai kondisi operasi untuk memastikan keandalan deteksi. Tiga sensor utama, yaitu sensor suhu DS18B20, sensor arus SCT-013, dan sensor getaran ADXL335 digunakan untuk mendeteksi suhu, arus, dan getaran. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pengujian suhu motor memiliki akurasi hingga 97%, sementara pengujian arus mencapai 84,3%. Sistem pendeteksi kerusakan motor menunjukkan tingkat akurasi 100% dalam mendeteksi kerusakan pada motor. Selain itu, sistem ini dirancang untuk memberikan peringatan dini melalui platform IoT, sehingga pemeliharaan dapat dilakukan sebelum kerusakan signifikan terjadi. Secara keseluruhan, sistem ini menunjukkan efektivitas dalam mendeteksi potensi kerusakan pada motor induksi dengan fokus pada tiga parameter kunci: suhu, arus, dan getaran, yang meningkatkan keandalan dan efisiensi operasional motor induksi. Induction motors are known for their advantages in simple construction, load resistance, and high efficiency. However, they have the potential for damage that can reduce operational efficiency. As a solution, an IoT-based induction motor fault monitoring system is developed using an Arduino microcontroller integrated with ESP 01. Testing includes measuring sensor accuracy in various operating conditions to ensure detection reliability. Three main sensors DS18B20, SCT-013, and ADXL335 are used to detect temperature, current, and vibration. Test results show that the motor temperature test has an accuracy of up to 97%, while the current test reaches 84.3%. The motor fault detection system demonstrates 100% accuracy in detecting motor faults. Additionally, the system is designed to provide early warnings through the IoT platform, enabling maintenance to be performed before significant damage occurs. Overall, this system demonstrates effectiveness in detecting potential faults in induction motors, focusing on three key parameters: temperature, current, and vibration, which enhances the reliability and operational efficiency of induction motors

Abstract

Seiring berjalanya waktu, perkembangan sumber energi listrik terbarukan dan integrasi sistem jaringan listrik berkembang sangat pesat. Kemudian, kualitas daya menurun dikarenakan kandungan distorsi harmonik ikut terinjeksi ke jaringan listrik dari sebagian besar perangkat elektronika daya yang menggunakan aplikasi inverter. Diperlukan Filter LCL yang dioptimalkan guna meningkatkan kualitas daya untuk inverter satu fasa yang terhubung dengan perangkat utilitas. Filter LCL yang dirancang dibawah batasan varisasi frekuensi swtiching minimum, distorsi harmonik total (THD), nilai induktor, dan faktor daya (cosphi). Dengan desain tersebut memberikan kinerja optimal untuk mengurangi konten harmonik. Semua hasil diperoleh melalui perhitungan, software PSIM, dan software LTspice. Hasil simulasi menunjukan distorsi harmonik total pada tegangan dan arus keluaran mengalami penurunan yang signifikan, sehingga meningkatkan kualitas daya yang lebih minim distorsi . THD tegangan sebelum melewati filter sebesar 79,52% menjadi 0,4972% setelah melewati filter LCL, sedangkan pada arus inverter yang mulanya 3,288% menjadi 0,4972% setelah melewati filter LCL. Dengan redaman distorsi harmonik total pada keluaran tegangan sebesar 99,37% dan keluaran arus 84,88%. Hasil ini memverifikasi kelayakan desain filter LCL yang di usulkan. Over time, the development of renewable electrical energy sources and the integration of power grid systems have grown rapidly. Subsequently, power quality is degraded due to harmonic distortion content injected into the power grid from most power electronic devices using inverter applications. An optimized LCL filter is required to improve the power quality for single-phase inverters connected to utility devices. The LCL filter is designed under the constraints of minimum swtiching frequency variation, total harmonic distortion (THD), inductor value, and power factor (cosphi). The design provides optimal performance to reduce the harmonic content. All results were obtained through, software PSIM, and software LTspice. The simulation results show that the total harmonic distortion in the output voltage and current has decreased significantly, thus improving the power quality with less distortion. The THD of the voltage before passing through the filter is 79.52% to 0.4972% after passing through the LCL filter, while that of the inverter current is initially 3.288% to 0.4972% after passing through the LCL filter. With a total harmonic distortion attenuation at the voltage output of 99.37% and current output of 84.88%. These results verify the feasibility of the proposed LCL filter design.
