Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: On the banks of the Kalimas River, Indonesia, drowning cases often occur because many people fish and swim in the river, especially when the munggut phenomenon occurs (fish die due to toxic factory waste being thrown into the river), but when drowning cases occur there are actually many people. feel afraid and confused about providing assistance to drowning victims. Objective of this research is to analyze what factors are related to self-efficacy in helping drowning victims based on Albert Bandura's Theory of Self-Efficacy.   Methods: This study was a correlational descriptive research with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all residents of the Kalimas Riverbanks, Gresik Regency. This research involved 146 respondents who live on the river banks in Gading Village, Wates Village, and Cangki Village using a cluster sampling technique. This research variable refers to Theory of Self-Efficacy including enactive mastery, vicariously experience, verbal persuasion, physiological and emotional state and self-efficacy. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using a logistic regression test with a significance level of ≤ 0.05.   Results: The results of statistical tests show a significant correlation between enactive mastery (p=0.001), vicarious experience (p=0.004), and verbal persuasion (p=0.000) with self-efficacy. In contrast, physiological and emotional state did not show a significant correlation with self-efficacy.   Conclusion: The higher the level of enactive mastery, vicarious experience, and verbal persuasion, the better the self-efficacy in helping drowning victims. This provides input for health workers and local government, as well as for further research, in increasing self-efficacy and the ability of residents to help drowning victims.

Abstract

Introduction: Many adolescents reported experiencing anxiety, stress, and depression due to poor time management and obsessive celebrity worship. This study aimed to explore the connection between self-control, celebrity worship, and mental health in adolescent K-pop fans. Methods: The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlative study design and a cross-sectional methodology. A total of 117 adolescent K-pop fans were selected using purposive sampling. The independent variables were self-control and celebrity worship, while mental health was the dependent variable. The Self-Control Scale (SCS) questionnaire, the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS), and the Mental-Health Inventory-38 (MHI-38) were used for data collection. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rho test at a significance level of <0.05. Results: The majority of late teens who are K-Pop fans demonstrate moderate levels of self-control (72.6%), moderate celebrity worship (76.9%), and mild mental health (71.8%). The research highlights a significant relationship between self-control and celebrity worship (p<0.05, r= -0.207) and mental health (p<0.05, r=0.287) in adolescent K-Pop fans, and celebrity worship (p<0.05, r= -0.213) was related to mental health in adolescent K-Pop fans. Conclusion: Higher self-control is associated with lower celebrity worship and better mental health, whereas excessive celebrity worship is linked to poorer mental health. Awareness is needed from parents, schools, and health workers to engage with adolescents to help them recognize celebrity worship behaviors, promote self-control, cope with stress, maintain sound mental well-being, and set clear future goals.

Abstract

80% of the population of Situbondo Regency Coastal Village work as fishermen. Fluctuating fishing results cause businesses to be processed so that they can be stored to fill the void of fishing results and improve the community's economy. The potential processed fish products at Bahari Beach are processed into fish crackers by several micro business groups consisting of residents, but unfortunately, the process of making crackers in all micro business centers still does not meet the principles of good occupational safety and health and does not wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when producing. This research aims to improve knowledge related to occupational safety and health in all groups of micro-business centers in the Pesisir Village area. The training method includes coordination with target partners, preparing the needs of tools and materials during the program, and preparing learning modules that will be used as a reference in program implementation. The work stage is filled with materials and demonstrations. Finally, the evaluation stage.
