Abstract

Confidence is a person's belief in the ability possessed to present well in front of others. While asking is one of the elements in learning, and indicates an interaction between individuals.This research is limited to the problem of increasing student confidence in asking questions in class by using group guidance services and using modeling techniques given to class VIII A students at SMP Negeri 17 Kota Jambi. The modeling technique is one of the TT techniques by presenting a pilot to the client about how to do something or how something happens. By seeing, observing or observing other people who can bring a client's understanding and can change a behavior.The type of this research was service follow-up research (PTL). The subjects in this study were 6 students in class VIII A, SMP Negeri 17 Jambi City with the initials, SPR, AZA, WUL, KNA, RRJ and AAL. This research was conducted in 3 cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementing, evaluating, reflecting. To see the results of the cycle he did by collecting observation data, interviews, questionnaires.The results showed that modeling techniques can increase students' confidence in asking questions in class. Of the three cycles carried out, the third cycle had the best results, namely the confidence in asking questions in class reached 92% with the accuracy of implementing the techniques carried out by researchers based on the results of questionnaires that had been carried out by researchers for each cycle that had been carried out. Obtain the results of the first cycle with an overall percentage of 12%, while the second cycle with a percentage of 69%. The results of this study are expected to help Guidance and Counseling Teachers to develop knowledge in increasing students' confidence in asking questions in class.

Abstract

Social media is a network that is very easy to access as a means of surfing in cyberspace, especially the social media tiktok. There are lots of benefits that can be taken by users who use this application, for example, is interacting with friends. This study aims to reveal the effect of the level of use of social media tiktok on the level of social interaction of class VII students at SMP Negeri 17 Jambi City. This type of research is quantitative with ex post facto method. The technique used in collecting data is by using a questionnaire, and to determine the accuracy of the instrument validity and reliability tests are carried out. Then the data analysis technique used was formula C, normality test, linearity test, and simple regression analysis with the help of the SPSS 24 program. The technique used in sampling was purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 79 students from 239 students. . The results of the study show that the effect of using social media tiktok on the level of social interaction of class VII students at SMP Negeri 17 Jambi City is at a percentage of 11.2% or 0.112 with a low but definite classification. The level of social media use by students is 63.89% which is included in the high category. While the level of social interaction of students of 64.57% is included in the high category.

Abstract

Motivation is a concept used to describe the initiation, direction, and intensity of individual behavior. Motivation is the force that drives someone to do something to achieve a goal. Internal factors are factors driving desires from within while external factors are factors driving desires from outside oneself. Such as encouragement from family environmental factors, school environmental factors, and community environmental factors. Factors that play a very important role in influencing student learning motivation are external factors. This study aims to look at the external factors that influence student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City along with their indicators. This type of research is descriptive, the population for the assessment is students at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City, totaling 75 students who are all used as research samples. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling technique. The data collection tool in this study was a questionnaire containing 26 statement items. The data obtained is processed using percentage analysis techniques. Some students stated that external factors influenced student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City on the family factor indicator with a percentage value of (59.2%). Some students stated that external factors influenced student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City on the school factor indicator with a percentage value of (64.6%). Some students stated that external factors influenced student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City on the community factor indicator with a percentage value of (59.1%). The results of the research based on the average percentage of the frequency of respondents' answers from 26 statement items show 61.2% of external factors that influence student learning motivation at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City

Abstract

In the world of education, plagiarism can be said to be part of academic work in an institution, one of which is done by many students accidentally or unintentionally. In general, in making theses, students often use the same references, one of the variables is the title of the thesis that has something in common, imitating research methods, and some students even just change the place and subject of research with the same topic. This research is limited to existing problems, while the limitations of the problem in this research are theses that have similar content, have similar references, have similar titles, and this research is only limited to the thesis of Guidance and Counseling students who have completed IS Studies at University 2016-2017 Jambi, the purpose of this research is to find out what types of plagiarism are in the thesis of Guidance and Counseling Students who have completed IS Studies in 2016-2017 University of Jambi. The type of research used was library research, the subject of this research was 20 undergraduate thesis students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Teaching and Education, Jambi University in 2016-2017 whose thesis had the same title, the data collection methods used by researchers included observation and documentation. Based on the results of research that has been conducted by researchers, checking 20 student thesis Guidance and Counseling Study Program Jambi University in 2016-2017 through the Turnitin application, it can be concluded that only 17 theses can be used as a reference, 6 theses have a moderate Similarity index and 11 theses have a Similarity index total and there is plagiarism in CHAPTER I, CHAPTER II, CHAPTER III, CHAPTER IV and CHAPTER V, based on 4 types of plagiarism namely idea plagiarism, content plagiarism, plagiarism of words, sentences, paragraphs and total plagiarism, dominant students plagiarism in the category of idea plagiarism and plagiarism of words, sentences, and paragraphs

Abstract

In the teaching and learning process there are obstacles that are difficult for students to overcome which can cause stress in learning due to the inability of students to absorb or understand learning material at school, so that it requires appropriate stress coping strategies. The phenomenon of coping with stress in schools is the emergence of maladaptive student behavior such as difficulties in doing assignments, students often leave during class hours for no apparent reason, and create a noisy atmosphere in class. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and coping with stress in learning for class VIII students of SMPN 10 Jambi City. This type of research is quantitative research with correlational research methods. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a total of 141 students as respondents. Analysis of research data using a correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. Retrieval of data in this study using the coping stress scale and emotional intelligence scale. The subjects of this study were class VIII students of SMPN 10 Jambi City. Data collection tools used are observation, interviews and questionnaires. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires consisting of 35 items, namely 20 items of emotional intelligence and 15 items of coping with stress. The results of the reliability test on each scale are 0.750 on the coping stress scale and 0.800 on the emotional intelligence scale. The analysis technique used is pearson correlation. Pearson correlation test results obtained rxy = 0.506 with a significance level or p of 0.000. Because the p value < 0.05, the pattern of relationship between the variables of emotional intelligence and coping stress in class VIII students' learning is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between the variables of emotional intelligence and coping stress in class VIII students

Abstract

The background of this research is that students spend more than 4 hours playing online mobile legends (ML) games a day. From the information obtained, students say that during certain lessons or certain teachers they will look for opportunities to play online games while the teacher is explaining the material, this is because students do not understand the material they are studying and it is very difficult for students to be able to concentrate when their minds are focused. on online games. This study aims to determine the effect of the intensity of playing online games on students' learning concentration. So that this research does not deviate from what is meant, it is limited in the intensity of playing online games seen from the length of access, psychological conditions and the purpose of playing. Meanwhile, the concentration of learning is limited from focusing attention, changing behavior, carrying out learning according to the objectives. This type of research is quantitative ex post facto. The population in this study were 50 students of class XI at Revany Indra Putra Vocational School, Jambi City, using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis tools and techniques used the normality test, linearity test and simple regression analysis through SPSS 24. The results showed that the influence of the intensity of playing online games was categorized as high with a percentage of 70.84%, while learning concentration was in the medium category with a percentage of 58.75. %, as well as the influence of the intensity of playing online games on student learning concentration obtained in this study, namely 0.101 or 10.1%. This study shows a low but definite effect between the intensity of playing online games on the concentration of students at Revany Indra Putra Vocational School, Jambi City.

Abstract

Prosocial behavior is an individual action to help others, often without direct benefit to the helper. Students' prosocial behavior can be influenced by parenting styles, one of which is authoritarian parenting. Authoritarian parenting is parenting style of parents who prioritize the formation of students' personalities by setting absolute standards that must be followed, usually balanced with threats or punishment. The same thing also happened in the educational environment of SMP Negeri 11 Muara Jambi where negative student prosocial behavior still occurred, such as students who showed disobedience, did not want to do school work, students who liked to bully their friends and some who liked to get angry. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of inferential research and is descriptive in nature. The sample in this study were 65 students who described an authoritarian parenting style. The research instrument used was a research questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis used is Descriptive Analysis and Regression Analysis. The results showed that: (1) Authoritarian parenting parents at SMP Negeri 11 Muara Jambi based on indicators of the approach used contained elements of coercion and punishment, parents tended to control children, and children did not have freedom as a whole at a high level with a percentage value of 82.68%; (2) The prosocial behavior of students at SMP Negeri 11 Muara Jambi based on indicators of self-efficacy, altruism, empathy and aggression is at a high level with a percentage of 82.71%; and (3) there is a negative effect on the authoritarian parenting style of students' parents on the prosocial behavior of students at SMP Negeri 11 Muara Jambi with an effect of 52.8%.
