This study examines the strategies of SMEs to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study can be used by MSME actors to make decisions during the uncertainty of the pandemic. This study is slightly different from previous similar studies. Previous research examines the sustainability of the MSME business under normal conditions and the competition between MSME businesses. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation was much different. This is inseparable from the condition of market anomalies that absorb MSME products. MSMEs are facing the most difficult period in their business history. This research explains a change in the behavior of both MSME actors and buyers in the face of a pandemic. This study also shows that the surviving MSME business actors are those who are able to adapt and innovate on their services and production processes. With this research, it is hoped that it can contribute to the development of MSME strategies so that they can survive during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This study aims to determine the perceptions of disadvantaged women in the city of Medan regarding Sharia rules (Islamic law) on micro-equity financing instruments, mudharabah and musyarakah. This research was conducted through a survey method on 330 questionnaires on members of Islamic microfinance institutions (IsMFI), namely, the BMT Ar-Ridhwan sharia cooperative. The data obtained were analyzed using a structural equation model. The study results reveal that female BMT Ar-Ridhwan borrowers consider the sharia rules of mudharabah and musyarakah to require high moral and ethical values and dynamic payment performance. They know several other basic provisions, such as liquidation of a business, transfer of shares, disclosure of information and termination of business. The overall findings of this study indicate that perceived Sharia rules are similar to those commonly used in general business partnerships between Muslims. It also shows that less fortunate entrepreneurs will accept rules that are easy to understand and benefit their interests. Furthermore, this indicates that the respondents' experience of microfinance and business operations does not significantly influence their perceptions of mudharabah and musyarakah instruments. The findings of this study can help IsMIF BMT Ar-Ridhwan take the initiative to offer mudharabah and musyarakah as micro-equity financing to economically disadvantaged women entrepreneurs.

This research aims to evaluate and analyze the impact of leadership style, work motivation and work discipline on employee performance at PT. Buana Independent Insurance. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with primary data collection through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The research population involved all employees of PT. Buana Independent Insurance as many as 119 people. The sampling technique uses the Slovin formula. The results of the study show that leadership style has a positive influence on employee performance, which is supported by a tcount value that is greater than ttable with an adequate level of significance. This results in acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha) and rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho). Apart from that, work motivation also has a significant positive impact on employee performance, as shown by the tcount value which exceeds the ttable value with quite high significance, so that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. However, work discipline has not been proven to have a significant positive influence on employee performance. In the analysis, the tcount value is lower than ttable with a significance level that is insufficient to reject the null hypothesis. Therefore, in this study, Ho was accepted while Ha was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that at PT. Asuransi Buana Independent, leadership style and work motivation influence employee performance, while work discipline does not have a significant influence.

The data used is qualitative data, which is data collected from literature and other supporting sources. The approach used is qualitative approach using an in-depth approach to literature studies on aspects of Indonesian human resources based on sharia and MEA. This research is relevant to explain how to build the character of Indonesia's sharia-based Indonesian human resources in dealing with the Asean Economic Community (MEA) in ASEAN.
