Abstract

The background of this research is, there is no learning model that can optimally support critical thinking skills, so it takes an innovative learning model. In this case, the researchers used web helped to guide discovery learning model to improve the critical thinking skills of the student in class X SMAN 4 Praya in academic year 2019/2020. This study aimed to find an effect of web assisted guided discovery learning on trigonometry material to critical thinking ability of the student in class X SMAN 4 Praya in academic year 2019/2020. This study use a quantitative research approach to the type of experimental research. In this experiment the researchers used a quasi-experimental, and uses two classes as a research, the experimental class and control class. The population of this research is all the student in class X SMAN 4 Praya and and choose two class as a sample class that is X MIPA 5 as a experimental class and X MIPA 3 as control class. Student in experimental class used web assisted guided discovery learning model and in control class used guided discovery without web assisted. The result of the research showed that the average of critical thinking ability in the experimental class is better than control class which is in the experimental class is in the less effective category and control class in ineffective category.

Abstract

The sets concept that still be the problems for students of class VII at SMPN 15 Mataram. The average of daily test score on the material sets of students of class VII is 60.45 with 38.81% of classical completeness. It means that most of seventh grade students make mistakes in order to complete the daily test questions related to the concept of the sets. The aim of this research is to identify an error to solve the question of sets by students of seventh grade at SMPN 15 Mataram in academic year 2017/2018. In addition, this study is conducted to determine the level of error to solve about the sets material, and to see the relationship of every types of error with the overall error in order to solve the question of sets. The type of this research is descriptive research of quantitative type. The data analysis technique used in this research is statistical descriptive data analysis and correlation analysis of pearson product moment test. The result of the research shows that the dominant error of students is the type of error using theorem, definition, or formula with error percentage 56.19%. Based on the basic competence of the sets material, students make the most mistake on basic competence 4.5 with percentage of error of 61.71%. In addition, the type of error using the data is stronger relation with a correlation coefficient 0.89 which is very strong category.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the Problem Solving learning model with Bruner Theory on students’ learning outcomes in the fraction material of 7th grade of SMP Negeri 2 Madapangga academic year 2020/2021. This research uses a quasi experiment type with the posttest only design with nonequivalent groups. The sampling technique in this research is cluster random sampling technique with class VII-A as the experimental class and class VII-B as the control class. In the experimental class, the Problem Solving learning model was applied with Bruner's Theory and the control class applied a conventional learning model. The instrument used is a learning outcome test (post-test). The quantity analysis was used t-test obtained that the Problem Solving learning model with Bruner’s theory is effective to increase the student results of 7th grade on fractions material in SMP Negeri 2 Madapangga academic year 2020/2021.

Abstract

The research is purpose to description skill level of mathematical problem solving in grade students of junior high school 3 Woha Bima odd semester in academic year 2021/2022. This type of research is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 36 students of VIII B class at SMPN 3 Woha Bima. Analisys techniques in this research is using essay test with aljabar subject as much 3 number questions with measure ability of student mathematical problem solving it can be categorized in 3 category, which is high category, medium category, and low category. After categoryzed the students will be interviewed for deeped the answer on the questions. In the interview step students will be choosed each 2 students to represent each category ability of problem solving so at the interviewed the researcher will be interview to 6 students for deeped the answer that they are got where the interview do after the researcher group each students into the category and will be choosed each 2 students to represent each category. Result of the result in the students with high ability problem solving are 14 students (39%) , medium ability problem solving are 16 students (44%), and low ability problem solving are 6 students (17%).

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical investigation abilities on number pattern material in terms of gender differences. This type of research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative with the instruments used in the form of mathematical investigation test questions, and interview guidelines. Subject selection using purposive sampling, which is based on the teacher's considerations. The subjects in this study were students of class IX-A of SMPN 1 Mataram for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 32 students. The test results were analyzed for each item based on the ability of mathematical investigation including specializing, conjecturing, generalizing and justifying. The results showed that the mathematical investigation ability of female students as many as 10 students (62.5%) were able to work on the four stages, the three-stage category was 2 students (12.5%), the two-stage category was 3 students (18.75%), and one-stage category as many as 1 student (6.25%). While the mathematical investigation ability of male students as many as 8 students (50%) were able to work on all four stages, the three-stage category was 3 students (18.75%), the two-stage category was 5 students (31.25%). In this study, interviews were conducted with 6 students from each representative of each criterion of the mathematical investigation ability test results, namely 3 male students and 3 female students. The difference between male and female students lies in the generalizing and justifying stage where female students complete neatly, thoroughly and test the general pattern for the special case they are working on while the male students complete in a short way.

Abstract

This study aims to know the relationship between anxiety in the examination with the study result of 2020 mathematics education students of Mataram University. This study is correlational research. The data is analyzed using descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. The population in the study is 136 mathematics education students, while the sample is 53. Sampling retrieval techniques using sampling samples. Data retrieval with an anxious instrument facing the exam and archivist’s final grades for student results. The result of this study is that anxiety facing a student’s exam fall within a moderate category and students’ learning result fall into the sufficient category. Based on the result of the correlation test, a coefficient correlation value of r = -0,112 with a count of -0,799, t table of 0,271 at a significant 5 %, so -0,799 < 0,271 means there is no significant relationship between the anxiety of facing a test and the study of the student academic year 2020/2021. Whereas anxiety in the face of a test contributes to resulting of 1,26%. The remaining 98,74% are determined by other factors not studied in this study.

Abstract

This research aims to describe learning discipline, interest in learning and students’ mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic and to know presence or absence of a relationship between learning discipline and interest in learning with mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic on students grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Mataram even semester in the academic year 2019/2020. This research is an ex post facto research. The population of this research were all students grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Mataram is 194 students. While the sample was taken with a proporsional cluster random sampling technique is 66 students. The data was collected by using learning discipline questionnaire, interest in learning questionnaire, mathematics learning test, and interview. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the level of learning discipline of students in the very high category, interest in learning in the high category, and learning outcomes in the low category. The result of the study also showed that there was no relationship between learning discipline and interest in learning with mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic on students grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Mataram even semester in the academic year 2019/2020, either individually or together.

Abstract

This research is an exploratory descriptive with a descriptive quantitative approach or mix-method which aims to analyze the thinking processes of pre-service mathematics students based on the SOLO taxonomy in solving differential equation problems. The subjects were 86 pre-service mathematics students of the fifth semester of the mathematics education study program who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Meanwhile, data were collected using problem-solving tests and interviews and then analyzed using descriptive and qualitative statistics with the following stages: (1) transcribing test and interview data, (2) coding segmentation, (3) analyzing student thinking processes in solving differential equation problems, and (4) drawing conclusions. The results showed that pre-service mathematics students' thinking levels were at the pre-structural level (6.98%), uni-structural (25.58%), multi-structural (60.47%), and extended abstract (6.98). Meanwhile, there is no one at the relational level in solving the problem. These results indicate that students need to be well supported and facilitated in problem-solving to achieve higher levels of thinking, such as the relational and extended abstract levels.

Abstract

Learning media have a contribution to the teaching and learning process, not only helping teachers deliver lessons but also providing added value in learning. One of the media that can be used as a solution as an interesting learning medium is a computer-based tutorial media of mathematics. This study aims at producing a practical computer-based tutorial media of mathematics. The subject of the study is the 30 students of IX-4 class of SMPN 1 Keruak, in which it is categorized as research and development by using the model ADDIE from Brunch. Furthermore, ADDIE is the acronym for analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instrument used in collecting the data consists of a teacher-student practicality instrument. Based on the media, the assessment for the testing of practicality is in the category "very valid” for the teachers and students with 89% for teacher practitioners and 89 3% for student practitioners. Based on the result, it can be concluded that a computer-based tutorial media of mathematical learning that has been developed is feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Numbered heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model with the problem-solving method on the learning outcomes of SMP-IT Darul Muhsin Nahdlatul Wathan academic year 2020/2021. In determining the sampling technique with saturate sampling type, where the samples in this study were students of class VIII-A as the control class and students of class VII-B as the experimental class. The instrument used in this study was an observation sheet and a test of student learning outcomes (posttest) on the function relation material. Quantitative analysis was carried out using the t-test, the value of count bigger table so that H0 was rejected. The results showed that the application of Numbered heads Together (NHT) cooperative model with the problem solving method had an effect on student learning material for class VIII SMP-IT Darul Muhsin Nahdlatul Wathan for the 2020/2021 academic year.
