Abstract

Rumah Lontiokis a traditional house of the Kampar community that symbolizes cultural identity and philosophical values. Built for the first time in 1889 and utilized starting in 1900, this house is unique due to the absence of rooms, the presence of five symbolic levels, and water facilities for purification. This research aims to identify the cultural values embedded in Rumah Lontiok and promote its preservation. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, with direct observation conducted in Kampung Pulau Belimbing, Riau. The findings reveal that Rumah Lontiok holds high cultural significance, particularly regarding the philosophy of togetherness, harmony with nature, and spirituality. This traditional house is also supported by two legal foundations: customary values and local beliefs. However, modernization poses a threat to its existence, necessitating cultural revitalization to ensure Rumah Lontiok's preservation.

Abstract

Desa Wisata Pulau Belimbing, yang terletak di Kabupaten Kampar, Riau, merupakan cerminan warisan budaya Indonesia yang kaya dan beragam. Desa ini menyimpan berbagai keunikan budaya, seperti Rumah Lontiok, tradisi makan badulang, gelek tobu, pertunjukan calempong dan silat persembahan, hingga beragam permainan tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal desa ini ke dalam pembelajaran, khususnya pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, sebagai upaya membentuk generasi yang berkarakter dan berbudaya. Dengan metode etnografi, penelitian ini melibatkan observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk mendalami nilai-nilai budaya setempat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal, seperti arsitektur Rumah Lontiok, tradisi sosial makan badulang, dan permainan rakyat, memiliki potensi besar untuk dimanfaatkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Integrasi ini tidak hanya membantu mencapai tujuan pendidikan, tetapi juga menanamkan nilai-nilai budaya lokal yang memperkuat identitas dan karakter siswa sebagai generasi penerus bangsa.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the world of education, especially in the utilization of technology-based learning media. One innovation that has emerged is the use of e-modules that can be accessed electronically and provide convenience in the learning process. At the junior high school level, Indonesian language learning materials, especially in writing pantun, are a challenge for a number of students. the development of flipbook-assisted e-modules as an alternative solution in helping students understand and apply rhyme writing techniques. This study aims to analyze the needs of junior high school students for the application of e-modules assisted by flipbooks in learning to write pantun. The method used in this research is a survey with a questionnaire instrument that aims to measure students' perceptions of e-modules. The results showed that most students had difficulty in understanding the pantun material and wanted a digital-based learning media that was more interesting and interactive. As many as 87.98% of students want the application of e-modules assisted by flipbooks as open materials that support independent learning of rhyme writing. In addition, students also expect the content of local wisdom of Malay culture, such as pacu jalur culture in the e-module.

Abstract

         Providing English materials based on local wisdom of Riau Malay is appropriate to improve the students’ English skill and also their cultural values and norms. Integrating moral values or local wisdom into English teaching and learning process can protect future generations from the deterioration of their national identity. The objectives of this research were to analyse the integration of local wisdom of Riau Malay Culture in English learning and the effects of the integration of local wisdom on students’ English skills. Systematic literature review was employed in the study by implementing PRISMA. This study utilized article databases and search engines namely Scopus, Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar to obtain the data. There were 11 articles as the data source which analyzed by employing narrative synthesis. The results of this study found that local wisdom of Riau Malay can be integrated into English learning namely reading, writing and speaking skills. Integrating Riau Malay Cultural values in English learning can enhance the students’ English ability and their cultural awareness in preserving local culture and national identity. Nevertheless, the studies related to the integration of local wisdom of Riau Malay Culture into English learning is very limited, this research is necessary to fill that gap.  It is also suggested for the next researchers to conduct further investigations related to this topic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat Batang Tuaka. Cerita ini berasal dari Kecamatan Batang Tuaka, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Riau, dan mengisahkan tentang seorang anak bernama Tuaka yang durhaka kepada ibunya dan mendapat balasan atas perbuatannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis isi terhadap teks cerita rakyat Batang Tuaka. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa cerita ini mengandung sembilan nilai pendidikan karakter, yaitu: keberanian, kepedulian, kerja keras, ketelitian, ketangguhan, musyawarah, tanggung jawab, religiusitas, dan kesadaran. Nilai-nilai tersebut mencerminkan pandangan hidup masyarakat setempat dan dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana pembelajaran moral serta pelestarian budaya lokal.

Abstract

Poetry writing learning in Vocational High Schools still faces challenges in terms of less innovative learning approaches and low student motivation. This research aims to develop a poetry writing module using Active Learning model assisted by audio visual for grade X SMK students through qualitative approach with library research method. Literature review was conducted on eight relevant studies from 2019-2025 discussing the use of audio visual media and active learning models in poetry writing learning. Research results show that module design integrating Active Learning principles with audio visual media has great potential in improving students' poetry writing skills. Previous research proved the effectiveness of audio visual media with strong correlation (rxy = 0.64) and learning motivation improvement up to 97.14%. Active Learning model enables active student participation through discussion, exploration, and collaborative practice. Audio visual media functions as creative stimulus that helps develop ideas and writing inspiration. Module feasibility can be ensured through validation by material, media, and pedagogical experts considering curriculum suitability and learning approach effectiveness. Research implications show that this module can become an innovative solution for transforming poetry writing learning in SMK and a model for developing teaching materials for other subjects. ABSTRAKPembelajaran menulis puisi di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan masih menghadapi tantangan dalam hal pendekatan pembelajaran yang kurang inovatif dan rendahnya motivasi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan modul menulis puisi model Active Learning berbantuan audio visual untuk siswa kelas X SMK melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode library research. Kajian pustaka dilakukan terhadap delapan penelitian relevan dari tahun 2019-2025 yang membahas penggunaan media audio visual dan model pembelajaran aktif dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain modul yang mengintegrasikan prinsip Active Learning dengan media audio visual memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa. Penelitian terdahulu membuktikan efektivitas media audio visual dengan korelasi kuat (rxy = 0,64) dan peningkatan motivasi belajar hingga 97,14%. Model Active Learning memungkinkan partisipasi aktif siswa melalui diskusi, eksplorasi, dan praktik kolaboratif. Media audio visual berfungsi sebagai stimulus kreatif yang membantu pengembangan ide dan inspirasi menulis. Kelayakan modul dapat dipastikan melalui validasi ahli materi, media, dan pedagogis dengan mempertimbangkan kesesuaian kurikulum dan efektivitas pendekatan pembelajaran. Implikasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul ini dapat menjadi solusi inovatif untuk transformasi pembelajaran menulis puisi di SMK dan model pengembangan bahan ajar untuk mata pelajaran lain.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the stages and procedures of marriage according to customs in Kuantan Singingi district, Riau. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were village heads, community leaders, ninik mamak and 30 residents of Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau. Data collection tools use checklists and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques use descriptive analysis. The results showed that there are various stages of different customs in each sub-district in Kuantan Singing regency and several factors that cause changes in the implementation of the customary stages in marriage in Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau.
