Abstract

A local cultural wisdom, which includes various varieties in Indonesia, has its uniqueness which is still maintained today, even though the digital era has become a local community. The rapid development in all aspects of life, from analogue to digital, has made some Batak tribes maintain their local cultural customs, namely Dalihan Na Tolu. Maintaining the existence of Dalihan Na Tolu among local and overseas communities is not easy because to preserve cultural customs, the values of local wisdom experience degradation. The purpose of this study was to determine the activities of Dalihan Na Tolu as a way of life or a philosophy of life for the Batak people because Dalihan Na Tolu is a guideline that has never been abandoned by the Batak people, both locally and overseas. This type of research is library research with qualitative data collection. This research method uses sociology with the subject Dalihan Na Tolu and analysis of social network mapping. To strengthen this method, the researcher uses Clifford Geertz's thought to understand symbols, meanings and identities in Dalihan Na Tolu through a text. This study's findings are that Dalihan Na Tolu's local wisdom has three elements, namely Mora, Kahanggi and Boru. These three elements have interrelated relationships and can facilitate normal societal and cultural activities. Batak people, both local and overseas, can adapt to the situation and developments in this modern era. Thus, the philosophy of Dalihan Na Tolu will never change or disappear, even though times and places are always dynamic.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Buya Hamka's views on the spread of mystical beliefs (kebatinan) in Indonesia and their implications for Indonesian society. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical and sociological approach. Data were collected through library research of Buya Hamka’s works and other related scholarly sources, then analyzed systematically to reveal his interpretation of kebatinan and his critical response to its development. The study was conducted within Universitas Darussalam Gontor's academic environment without involving direct field respondents. The results indicate that, according to Hamka, kebatinan stems from the Arabic concept of “bathin” and is derived from the deviant sect of Bathiniyyah within Islamic tradition. Hamka argued that kebatinan has spread extensively, particularly in Java, and has significantly contributed to the ambiguity of religious identity, promoted syncretism, and led to the distortion and denigration of Islamic teachings. The study concludes that Hamka’s perspective represents a critical theological and sociological stance, urging the Muslim community to safeguard the purity of Islamic teachings from heterodox local influences

Abstract

Strengthening the quality of learning at the elementary school level requires adaptive and innovative strategies, especially in the digital era, which demands a more engaging and participatory learning process. This community service activity was carried out at SDN 2 Ngindeng in response to the need to increase teacher capacity in designing and using interactive learning media appropriate to the local context. The main objectives of this activity were: (1) to improve teachers' skills in using interactive media, (2) to increase active student engagement in the learning process, and (3) to foster a culture of simple technology-based learning. The community service methods used included teacher training, mentoring in the implementation of interactive media in the classroom, as well as pre- and post-test-based evaluations of teachers and observations of student engagement. The community service results showed a significant improvement in teacher skills, with an average post-test score of 26 points. Furthermore, student engagement increased from 55% to 82% after the program was implemented. These findings demonstrate that interactive media-based learning innovations can be a strategic solution for improving the quality of elementary education, particularly in areas with limited resources.

Abstract

This study researches the development of Digital Islam and attempts to apply Maqāṣid al-Sharī'ah (the objectives of the Islamic law) to Society 5.0. It seeks to document the merger of traditional legal wisdom and contemporaneous digital life through content analysis. It starts by proposing an argument that Digital Religion is an important modern debate. Digital Religion is the conversion of holy signs, artifacts and religious/faith-based words from in-person to online mediums, where there is synchronous interaction between the online and offline worlds. This study maintains that Digital Islam is the most advanced expression of this phenomena. Digital interactions, directed toward the attainment of Maṣlaḥah and the avoidance of Mafsadah, ethically contain the use of technology to not be simply instrumental, but to promote good. This study, most importantly, shows how Maqāṣid al-Sharī’ah still has relevance in ‘implementing Divinity’ within an ostensibly ‘secular’ Society 5.0. Finally, it discusses the possible points of ‘friction’ and structural impediments that may occur as the intersection of Islamic Digital Ethics and the ever-accelerating, disruptive nature of the new technologies.
