Abstract

This paper discusses gender as an increasingly melting identity. Real practice can be found in social media, where gender identity as one of the symbols in understanding the masculinity and femininity attributes of a person begins to appear in different ways. The male phenomenon that is thought to lose the identity of masculinity for using an attribute that is stereotypically used by women is often found in social media and its interactions. Media as a source of information, correlation, continuity, entertainment, and mobilization, consciously or unconsciously, has established a new perspective in describing gender identity. The identity displayed on social media no longer has to adapt the prevailing public stereotypes. In reality, gender identity is increasingly melting.Keywords : media, identity, gender, androgini

Abstract

Young people are the driving force in voicing these various messages of gender equality on social media. The point of view also departs from the audience's perspective as the center of the campaign carried out on this social media and its activities. This study examines young people's understanding regarding experience, knowledge, and awareness of gender and how young people's efforts to voice gender awareness using social media. At first, these young people used Instagram to find information regarding the issue of gender equality. Slowly, after understanding this, their information is getting more diverse and condensed. They initially used Instagram social media for introductions, which became a communication channel to spread understanding about gender to the broader public. This research shows that young people have gender awareness in understanding gender which is essential to their immediate environment and accelerates the need for gender awareness in further discourse. On this basis, we conclude that Instagram is a bridge in paving the way for young people to access various and actual information. Instagram helps them spread messages of gender equality through light and engaging, concise information, which then becomes the subject of discussion for advanced interactions via other social media platforms.

Abstract

Kategorisasi peran antara wanita dan pria di dalam lingkungan masyarakat membentuk stereotip gender. Stereotip gender ini menuntut pria dan wanita patuh akan kategorisasi tersebut, yakni maskulin dan feminin. Peran yang dibentuk masyakarat tersebut membentuk krisis akan maskulinitas pada lelaki. Maskulinitas laki-laki dipertanyakan ketika mereka memiliki karakter yang bukan maskulin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data untuk mendapatkan informasi adalah terlibat atau terjun langsung, mengadakan observasi, wawancara terbuka dan analisis dokumentasi. Informan pada penelitian ini didapatkan melalui teknik snowball sampling. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah data collection, data reduction, data display, dan conclusion: drawing/verifying. Penelitian menghasilkan analisis mengenai pemahaman kritis bahwa identitas yang dihasilkan muncul karena adanya pemahaman androgini secara psikologis merupakan bentuk kecerdasan emosi. Laki-laki, mengalami krisis identitas terkait posisinya secara personal dan komunal di dalam masyarakat dan karakter androgini menjadi pilihan dalam menunjukkan identitasnya.

Abstract

If we talk about television as mass media, what is meant by watching TV is watching programs that are broadcast by television stations. It's just that, seeing the arrival and influence of new media technology at this time, making many functions of the mass media that began to be seized by new media. This research was conducted to see how the process of transformation of functions and consumption of television and Youtube media is carried out by the people of Padang City. In order to examine the changes in this communication media, of course data is needed on how the actual process takes place in the field. To examine the problem, this study uses MediaMorphosis Theory. The study was designed using a quantitative and qualitative mixed approach that was shaded by a post-positiveist paradigm. The quantitative approach is carried out through an explanatory research survey research design to find out the situation or condition that occurs and the factors influencing it. While the qualitative approach is used to explain the variables studied in more detail. The results revealed that the majority of respondents are more concerned with the content presented than the media platform used. The platform only functions as a tool that makes it easy for them to access the content they want, without them really caring about the conceptual differences from the available media choices.

Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the phenomenon of the high number of addicting playing online games for the younger generation (students) today. This condition is inseparable from the development of technology and the availability of various applications and other factors originating from these students. The presentation and appearance of these online games are usually very interesting, thus causing the attraction of the player, and favored by various groups ranging from children to adults. However, interest and pleasure in playing this online game causes people to forget themselves, forget time, and there is always a sense of curiosity so that they want to play the game continuously (addicted). The impact of this online gaming addiction is a decrease in front brain waves that have an important role, behave aggressively, get angry easily, have multiple personalities, have problems in social relations, lie, misuse of money to decrease productivity and physical health due to long exposure to computer radiation or gadgets. This activity aims to increase students' knowledge about the effects of online gaming addiction. This activity was carried out in the form of counseling and combined with the introduction of making animation as a smart form in using gadgets. The enthusiasm of students and the support of the school was very large as seen from the many students who asked and participated in the event. In addition, the school also welcomed the comments that information on the use of gadgets is very important at this time not only for students but also for adults to be smart in using it. The school also requested that extension activities and similar training can be carried out again in the future.

Abstract

Submission of patriarchal cultural ideologies makes inequality in gender identity. The ideology states that gender should have certain characteristics that are perpetuated from time to time. A stereotype of gender identity was formed which was then displayed in various social interactions, including in the mass media, especially advertising. Gender bias, inequality of women's representation, and women objectification are found in advertisements, especially for beauty products. Feminism is the rationale for this study related to the objectification of these women. But this research will explain how women are forever not only objects, but also begin to show themselves as subjects.

Abstract

Film Animasi Disney Princes memberikan representasi ideal akan peran perempuan yang unik dan menarik. Peran perempuan pada Disney Princess ini mengalami transformasi dari waktu ke waktu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif interpretif. Paradigma konstruktivisme digunakan untuk melihat bagaimana realitas yang ada bukanlah realitas yang natural melainkan hasil konstruksi sosial, dan film menjadi salah satu wadah yang representatif dalam menyajikan peran perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis wacana Sara Mills. Model tersebut menitikberatkan pada wacana mengenai gender dan feminisme yang merupakan fokus dari penelitian ini melihat melalui posisi subyek-obyek dan posisi penulis-pembaca. Sehingga memberikan gambaran yang lebih luas terkait konstruksi realitas peran perempuan serta representasi yang dibangun di dalam film-film animasi Disney Princess ini.

Abstract

Youths are facing unprecedented change and uncertainty, such as gender equality, mental health, industry, and the corporation of the adult world. The rise of the issue of gender equality in Indonesia is accompanied by changes in construction society in the depiction of gender. This research is using multi-method qualitative approach, focus on exploring the narratives of youths as they fixed their self-identity with in-depth interview. The theory that is using in this study is Anthony Gidddens' theory: modernity, and self-identity. It portrays the condition of young people who are attached to society's constructs about interpreting gender. Gender and body are not only talk about men or women but show in performance and controlled by society. This research found that showing the masculine and feminine side did not change the self-identity of the subjects.

Abstract

This study analyzes player interactions and the reasons for trash-talking in the use of text and voice chat features in the online game Valorant. The background of this research is based on the lack of studies on the differences in the use and impact of text and voice chat, as well as their influence on game dynamics and player behavior. The theory utilized in this research is Computer Mediated Communication (CMC), which highlights how communication through computer media can shape behavior and group dynamics. The research method employed is qualitative analysis with an observational approach and in-depth interviews with active players. The findings indicate that player interactions through text chat are more frequently used for strategic communication, while voice chat is more often employed for quick and intense communication. Trash-talking often occurs as a form of dominance expression, psychological strategy, and emotional reaction to in-game situations. These findings underscore the importance of managing communication in games to create a healthy and positive gaming environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Likuiditas dan Solvabilitas terhadap Profitabilitas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis (a) pengaruh Likuiditas terhadap Profitabilitas dan (b) pengaruh Solvabilitas terhadap Profitabilitas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah Perusahaan Retail dan Grosir dalam rentang tahun 2018-2021. Analisis data menggunakan analisis linear berganda. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari uji parsial (T-test) tahun 2018-2021 menunjukkan bahwa Likuiditas dan Solvabilitas berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap Profitabilitas pada Perusahaan Retail dan Grosir.
