Abstract

This study examines crisis communication patterns in cross-sector organizations in Indonesia through case studies of GenFM, PT KAI Commuter, and KitaBisa. GenFM faced a reputational crisis following an on-air joke by a radio host that violated broadcasting ethics, KAI Commuter experienced a security breach of its Multi-Trip Card system that caused financial and reputational damage, and KitaBisa dealt with public allegations of non-transparent donation management. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and guided by Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT), this research analyzes the types of crises, public attribution of responsibility, and communication strategies employed by each organization. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and secondary document analysis. The findings show that the three organizations adopted distinct communication patterns: KitaBisa emphasized transparency and empathy to restore trust; GenFM prioritized swift clarification and professionalism; and KAI Commuter implemented systematic, collaborative, and technically driven responses. All three rely heavily on digital platforms as primary communication channels. The study highlights that the effectiveness of crisis communication is determined by the alignment between strategies and the nature of the crisis, as well as the organization’s openness to addressing public concerns.

Abstract

This community service program (PkM) aims to enhance the digital literacy of teachers and students at Pondok Pesantren Al-Wathoniyah Pusat Putri Klender, East Jakarta, particularly in verifying digital news and content amid pervasive disinformation. Key problems identified include low digital verification competency among senior teachers, limited use of fact-checking tools, and the absence of systematic information management mechanisms within the pesantren. The activity was held on June 10, 2026, employing a blended learning approach combining interactive lectures, hands-on training, and continuous mentoring. Training modules covered: (1) digital literacy for teachers, (2) mitigation of religious information distortion, (3) critical media literacy, (4) videography skills, and (5) content marketing grounded in Islamic values. Thirty teachers and senior students participated. Key outputs include enhanced digital literacy competencies among participants, the Smart Teacher Guidelines module, a donated photography studio equipment set, and national media coverage (JPNN.com). Evaluation results demonstrate significant improvement in participants' understanding of digital information verification, positive content production capability, and motivation to use technology responsibly. This program contributes to SDGs No. 4 (Quality Education), SDGs No. 9 (Innovation), SDGs No. 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDGs No. 17 (Partnerships), as well as supporting IKU 3, IKU 5, and IKU 6 of Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

Abstract

Increasingly fierce competition in the cosmetics industry in Indonesia encourages companies to increase brand awareness as part of a communication strategy in shaping a strong corporate image. Researchers conducted this study to determine the effect of Wardah Brand Awareness on PT Paragon Technology and Innovation's Corporate Image. This research uses a quantitative approach with an online survey method involving 100 respondents, namely followers of the @wardahbeauty Instagram account. Researchers analyzed the data using the Pearson correlation test and simple linear regression. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant influence between Brand Awareness and Corporate Image, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The Pearson correlation coefficient value of 0.590 indicates a fairly strong positive relationship between the two variables. In addition, the R Square value of 0.349 indicates that Brand Awareness affects 34.9% of the variation in Corporate Image, while the remaining 65.1% is influenced by other factors. This finding concludes that the higher the level of Wardah Brand Awareness, the more positive the public perception of the company's image. This study recommends that PT Paragon Technology and Innovation strengthen its brand communication strategy through more massive digital campaigns and develop Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to build public trust in a sustainable manner. Keywords: brand awareness, corporate image, communication strategy, Wardah, PT Paragon Technology and Innovation
