Abstract

North seawaters of Bengkalis as a part of Bengkalis waters also contributeby Malacca Straits waters. This area estimate 2.398 km 2 in width and consists ofBantan Sub district waters to Bengkalis sub districtwaters area. This area yielded9.291,9 tones per annum of fish with utilization rate of almost 90%. This researchhas been done in the area during Northwest monsoonat November 2012 toSeptember 2013 for estimated density, environment and distribution of fish whichused local People Vessel as a research vessel. Result of this research that TSdistribution in the surface layer shows that a relatively small value ofthe targetstrength ranges from-64 till -94dBand the highest frequency was atthe value-73till-76dB, which indicates that most ofthe fishare spread on this area was a smallfish .Keywords : Bengkalis, distribution, density, acoustic methods, target strength.

Abstract

AbstractThe selectivity of the fishing gear is defined as the ability of the fishing device to obtain specific fishing targets by type and size during the capture process and allow all unwanted by-catch catches to be passed unscathed (FAO, 1995). The purpose of this study was to find out the selectivity of the mesh size and the composition of the catch of drift gillnets in PPN Sungailiat. The result of this research is a drift gillnet with a mesh size of 8.89 cm caught tuna with a fork length range of 32 - 45.7 cm and the highest catch ratio was caugth at fork length (L). = 37.7 cm with Sa = 0.999289326.Meanwhile, mesh size of 10.16 cm caught tuna with a fork length range of 36.6 - 50.3 cm and the highest catch ratio was caught at fork length (L) = 43.3 cm with Sb = 0.999974108.So that drift gillnet with a mesh size of 10.16 cm are more selective than drift gillnet with a meh size of 8.89 cm,because the L value is greater and the S value is closer to 1. As well as catching more large fish that are fit to catch (≥ 40 cm). Keywords : Fishing Gear; Selectivity; Sungailiat; Drift Gillnet

Abstract

Abstract This research is done to know technical aspect that is general construction, operation technique, catch and also environmental friendliness of kelong bilis fishing gear. This research was conducted in April 2018 in Malang Rapat Village Gunung Kijang District Bintan Regency Riau Islands Province. Kelong bilis is a passive fishing gear and is operated at night by using lamp light as a fish pulling factor and usually operated by two fishermen only. Kelong Bilis fishing gear has a size of 12x11 meters and the mesh size is 10x9 meters made of black nylon (Polypropylene) and  meshsize 0.1 mm. Kelong Bilis's main catch is Anchovy (Stolephorus sp) and Kelong Bilis’s by catch are Cumi cumi (Loligo sp) and Tamban (Spratelloides delicatulus). Based on the results of the research and the results of interviews conducted on 20 respondents using a weighting system of 9 criteria of environmentally friendly fishing gear according to FAO (1995), kelong bilis fishing gear is a very environmentally friendly fishing gear with score 31.7.Keywords: Technical Analysis, Environment Friendly Level, Kelong bilistechnical aspect that is general construction, operation technique, catch and also environmental friendliness of kelong bilis fishing gear. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the variability of Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) and chlorophyll-a and see the connection between the catch squid and chlorophyll-a concentrations found in the waters north of the island of Java in 2016. The data used is satellite image data Aqua MODIS Level 3 and using Quantum GIS applications 2.18. The analysis uses spatial analysis to see the variability of chlorophyll-a and CPUE while the analysis of the relationship between CPUE and chlorophyll-a simple linear regression. The results of the spatial analysis of data Aqua MODIS Level 3 has the highest maximum value is 63.443 mg / m³ in May with a minimum value is 0.070 mg / m³ and the average value is 1.160 mg / m³. From the results of linear regression analysis has a value of r is 0,4483 so that the effect of the concentration of chlorophyll-a to fluctuations in CPUE amounted to 20,1%.Keywords: Spatial Analysis, Aqua MODIS, Chlorophyll-a, and correlation of coefficient (r).
