Abstract

AbstractThe Dandangan tradition is a tradition that has existed since the time of the Sunan Kudus to welcome the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. The Dandangan tradition in Kudus is still preserved every year. Unfortunately, this tradition had to be tainted by some non-moderate religious figures by accusing the implementation of this tradition of heresy. The purpose of this study is to find out the history of the Dandangan tradition in Kudus as a living hadith to welcome the holy month of Ramadan. This research uses a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. Data is collected through literature review, observation, and in-depth observation. The data were analyzed using functional structural proximity. The results showed that the existence of Islam is an inseparable part of the Kudus community so the implementation of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan alone has become a tradition of the Kudus community known as the Dandangan tradition. The function of this tradition is nothing but an expression of gratitude for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan and a means of social interaction that increases the homogeneity of the Kudus community in one social identity. Keywords: Tradition, Ramadan, Hadith.

Abstract

This research discusses hadith musicalization as an innovation in delivering religious messages that combines elements of music and hadith text. Hadith musicalization aims to facilitate understanding, increase retention, and attract the interest of the public, especially the younger generation, through various musical genres and digital platforms in understanding the moral and ethical messages contained in a hadith. As for the context of hadith science, the emphasis of musicalization is given to the importance of maintaining the authenticity and validity of the hadith, as well as paying attention to the sanad, matan, and scientific aspects related to at-Tahammul wal Adā'. Although there is debate regarding the ruling of music in Islam, moderate views from scholars such as Yusuf al-Qardawi support the use of music for positive purposes, as long as it does not contradict the Shari'ah. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods to explore the potential, challenges, and relevance of hadith musicalization in da'wah and education, as well as highlighting the importance of ethics and scholarship in the development of music-based da'wah content. The results of the study are expected to enrich the scientific treasury and provide ethical guidance for da'wah content creators in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyses the film Ipar Adalah Maut in the context of the interpretation of the hadith that inspired the story, focusing on the descriptive method and the hermeneutical approach proposed by Yusuf Qardhawi. The purpose of this study is to explore the strengths and weaknesses of hadith representation in the film as well as its impact on audience understanding. The descriptive method was used to collect and analyse data from the film as well as scholars' views on hadith interpretation. The results show that the film has the potential to convey a moral message, but also faces challenges in terms of accuracy and representation that may affect people's understanding of Islamic teachings. Qardhawi's hermeneutic approach emphasises the importance of understanding the social and cultural context in the interpretation of hadith, so as to bridge the gap between religious texts and current social realities. The conclusion of this study emphasises the importance of media as a tool of da'wah that can spread the teachings of Islam in a constructive and educational manner

Abstract

The phenomenon of spirits is often discussed in society, especially in Indonesia, which is rich in local culture and beliefs. As part of Islamic teachings, this phenomenon also receives attention from the perspective of hadith and the views of scholars. This paper aims to examine how the scholars' views and interpretations of the hadith related to the phenomena of wandering spirits, as well as its relevance to local beliefs. Using a qualitative approach, the article analyzes the views of scholars who refer to hadith texts both in support of and in response to skepticism about the existence of spirits that roam after death. It also explores the influence of local culture on the interpretation of these traditions and how Indonesian scholars harmonize Islamic teachings with the spiritual practices of the people. The results of the study show that although the traditions related to wandering spirits have a variety of interpretations, scholars tend to prioritize the principles of Islamic teachings that emphasize the importance of the afterlife and reject beliefs that are not based on sound Islamic law. The findings provide further insight into the relationship between religious teachings and local culture, as well as the contribution of ulema in safeguarding the faith of the people through proper understanding of the traditions.

Abstract

The phenomenon of FoMO has become increasingly common in today’s digital era. This article examines FoMO through the lens of the Prophet Muhammad’s hadiths, which offer spiritual and moral guidance in Islam. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, this study reviews Islamic literature especially hadith collections and relevant scholarly works. The analysis centers on the values of contentment , patience , trust in God, asceticism, modesty, and how these teachings can be applied in modern contexts. The study finds that these values help reduce the negative impact of FoMO, build stronger mental and spiritual resilience, and support emotional well-being. In conclusion, the moral wisdom contained in the hadith offers meaningful solutions to preserve mental health and inner peace amid the fast-paced, competitive nature of today’s digital world.

Abstract

This paper reveals that the reaffirmation of Nusantara Islam is a response to the issue of disintegrity that has hit several Islamic countries, especially the Middle East. What Ritchey and Muchtar did provides evidence that the yellow book (turats) has contributed greatly to the moderation of Islam in Indonesia. Because of that, in the last decade there has been a call to dig up scientific treasures from the books of Indonesian scholars. From the various Arba'in hadith books above, the genealogy of the network of hadith chains from Hadratus Shaykh Hasyim Asy'ari is a long-standing research to study. Hadith research Arbain KH. Hasyim is considered very important because he can reveal the veil of advice implied in 40 hadiths. The clusters of thought include efforts to unite the nation and respect the differences of the ummah as well as the basic foundation for the establishment of the NU organization, the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative library research method, which is a series of research activities that are closely related to the method of collecting library data. The results of the research are expected to foster a sense of community unity in facing the challenges of this nation's disintegrity.

Abstract

Living hadith is the response of certain Muslim communities in applying the words that come directly from the Prophet Muhammad. This response occurs both in the form of personal and community in interpreting certain hadiths. This research will discuss the tradition of Buka Luwur with portraits of living hadiths on the haul of Sunan Kudus. This library research uses interview techniques and field observations to observe the Buka Luwur phenomenon in the Haul Sunan Kudus Commemoration. This social phenomenon is categorized as living hadith because there are several indications, including; First, this tradition was inspired by the turn of the kiswah of the Kaaba. Second, this tradition is considered by the Kudus community as a tribute to the services of Islamic preachers in the holy city, namely Sayyid Ja'far Sadiq, Sunan Kudus. Third, this tradition is considered to be based on hadith. The existence of this tradition also means that Islam does not only come as an emphasis on sharia, but also accommodates local traditions. From this phenomenon emerged a strong Islamic motivation in the form of generosity and inner satisfaction with respect to the first Islamic propagator on the island of Java.[Living hadis merupakan respon komunitas muslim tertentu dalam mengaplikasikan sabda yang bersumber langsung dari Rasulullah.
