Abstract

The number of smartphone users is increasing across various demographics, including students. With the presence of smartphones among students, it should be able to assist learners in enhancing their interest and understanding of mathematics effectively, anytime and anywhere. Therefore, this research aims to develop a mathematics learning media based on an Android application using PowerPoint and iSpring for set theory material for Grade VII students at Swadaya Tarus Private Junior High School that is valid, practical, and effective. The method employed in this research is research and development using the ADDIE development model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data for this research were obtained through interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results of this research show that the set theory class application meets the criteria for valid, practical, and effective learning media for set theory material. The average total validity score from three validators is 4.34, indicating that the Android-based mathematics learning media falls into the valid category. The average practicality score from the large class teacher is 4.38, and the responses from the small-scale trial students were 4.6, while the responses from the large-scale trial students were 4.67, placing the Android-based mathematics learning media in the practical category. Additionally, the pass rate for small-scale trial students was 80%, and the pass rate for the large-scale trial students was 70%, indicating that the developed Android-based mathematics learning media falls into the effective category.

Abstract

The underlying issue addressed in this research is the low motivation and learning outcomes of students. This is attributed to the conventional teaching model, which is teacher-centered and the use of media that tends to make students passive and uninterested in the learning process. The aim of this study is to describe the improvement in motivation and learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at Catholic Junior High School Muder Teresa on cartesian coordinate material through discovery learning assisted by interactive powerpoint. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting og 4 stages, namely Planning, Impelemtation, Observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, questionnaires tests and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. The research result showed in the initial condition average motivation score of students at 53,86. Increasedto 70.5 in first cycle, and 79.64 in the second cycle. While the percentage of students who complated was 57.14% in the first cycle and second cyclewas 89.29%. Thus it can be concluded that the discovery learning model assisted by interactive powerpoint can improve the motivation and learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at Catholic Junior High School Muder Teresa on cartesian coordinate material. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis android menggunakan construct 2 pada materi fungsi komposisi untuk peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Rote Timur yang Valid, Praktis dan efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian Research and Development (R&D) serta model yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu analysis (analisis), design (desain), development (pengembangan), implementation (implementasi), dan evaluation (evaluasi). Teknik dan instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, angket dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitiannya adalah peserta didik kelas X SMA N 1 Rote Timur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kelayakan media pembelajaran yaitu valid, praktis, dan efektif. Rata-rata total kevalidan yang diperoleh berdasarkan penilaian validator adalah 4,65 dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Rata-rata total kepraktisan oleh guru adalah 4,75, rata-rata total kepraktisan oleh siswa pada uji coba kelas kecil adalah 4,80, dan kelas besar adalah 4,43 dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. Presentase ketuntasan belajar siswa pada uji coba kelas kecil sebesar 100% dengan kategori “sangat efektif” dan uji coba kelas besar sebesar 75% dengan kategori “efektif”. Dengan demikian media pembelajaran berbasis android sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Research & Development (R&D) dan menerapkan model pengembangan ADDIE. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis aplikasi android pada materi lingkaran untuk siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Kota Kupang yang memenuhi kriteria kelayakan yakni valid, praktis dan efektif. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, angket dan tes kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan software ispring suite pada materi lingkaran, telah memenuhi kriteria kelayakan yaitu valid, praktis dan efektif. Rata-rata total kevalidan (RTV) yang diperoleh dari ahli media dan ahli materi yaitu 4,96 dan 4,93 dengan kategori valid. Kemudian hasil rata-rata total kepraktisan (RTP) oleh siswa pada kelas kecil yakni 4,51 dan kelas besar yakni 4,56, serta rata-rata kepraktiswan yang diperoleh dari respon guru pada kelas besar adalah 5. Ketiga skor tersebut masuk dalam kategori praktis. Selain itu, persentase ketuntasan yang diperoleh pada ujicoba kelas kecil yaitu 87,5% sedangkan pada ujicoba kelas besar yaitu 82% dan masuk dalam kategori.

Abstract

The development of the use of Android-based smartphones among the people of Indonesia is used in various fields, including the field of education. One software that can be used to implement Android-based learning is smart apps creator (SAC). Therefore, this study aims to develop android application-based mathematics learning media on class VII UPTD SMP N 5 Kupang comparison material that is valid, practical, and effective. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. Data analysis techniques in this study are qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that the application met the eligibility criteria that were valid, practical, and effective in the comparison material. The average total validity of learning media by 3 media and material experts is 4.25 so that android application-based mathematics learning media is included in the valid category, subject teacher responses with an average response result of 4.67, responses from small-scale students are 4.7 and large-scale student responses are 4.45 so that android application-based mathematics learning media is included in the practical category,  and the percentage of small-scale learning completeness results obtained 80% included in the effective category and large-scale learning completeness results 88.88% so that mathematics learning media based on android applications that have been developed are included in the very effective category.

Abstract

Pemerintah melakukan perbaikan pada kurikulum sebagai salah satu langkah untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia. Kurikulum yang diciptakan sesuai dengan tuntutan pendidikan abad ke-21,  di mana pembelajaran yang dirancang menyesuaikan dengan kemampuan peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada materi trigonometri siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kupang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Design Research yang terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu preparing for the experiment, design experiment, dan retrospective analysis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis, observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis data deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data hasil observasi dan wawancara, sedangkan analisis kuantitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil asesmen diagnostik dan asesmen formatif peserta didik. Penelitian ini menghasilkan suatu desain pembelajaran berdiferensiasi khususnya diferensiasi konten pada materi trigonometri sesuai dengan kemampuan matematis peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi konten efektif untuk diterapkan pada kegiatan pembelajaran dengan presentase keefektifan klasikal adalah 64,28%.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the critical thinking ability of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Kupang regarding the building materials used in flat-sided spaces, which are still low. This study describes the application of the discovery learning model using the Geogebra application to enhance the critical thinking skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Kupang about the building materials of flat-sided spaces. The research method used is Classroom Action Research, with qualitative and quantitative data types. This research was carried out in class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Kupang, totaling 24 students. Data collection techniques in this research were through observation, tests and questionnaires, with the instruments used being teacher and student observation sheets, test questions and student response questionnaires. Implementation of this Classroom Action Research has 4 stages, namely 1) Planning; 2) Implementation of action (action); 3) Observation; 4) Reflection. The research results showed that the percentage of completeness of the results of students' classical critical thinking ability test at the end of cycle I reached 20.83%, increasing to 87.50% at the end of cycle II. The implementation of teacher teaching activity score data at the end of cycle I reached 92.50%, increasing to 98.30% at the end of cycle II and was in the very good category. In addition, the implementation of student learning activity score data at the end of cycle I reached 73.95% and also increased to 93.22% at the end of cycle II and was in the very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student’s mathematical reasoning abilities in solving trigonometry problems based on Gregorc thinking styles among XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Lobalain. The  research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include thinking style questionnaires, test questions and interviews. The data analysis process follows the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that, students with concrete sequential (SK) thinking style only fulfilled the indicators of presenting mathematical statements and using patterns and relationships to analyze mathematical situations. Students with abstract sequential (SA) thinking style are better at reasoning than students with other thinking style categories, but have not been able to fully compile and provide reasons for the correctness of the solution where abstract sequential thinkers are unable to provide reasons for the solution obtained from the problem. Students with a concrete random (AK) thinking style also did not fulfill all indicators of mathematical reasoning. They were only able to present mathematical statements and utilize patterns and relationships to analyze mathematical situations. Meanwhile, students with abstract random (AA) thinking style were only able to present mathematical statements.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu para guru sekolah dasar di  SDN Oebobo 1 dan SDN Oebobo 2 Kota Kupang membuat media pembelajaran matematika berbasis komputer dengan software yang sering dijumpai, yaitu Microsoft PowerPoint dan membuat soal tes dengan menggunakan Quizizz. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, demonstrasi, dan praktik. Pemberian materi I yaitu terkait dengan peran media teknologi dalam pembelajaran matematika SD. Pemberian materi II terkait dengan pelatihan Microsoft PowerPoint sebagai media pembelajaran matematika. Pemberian materi III terkait dengan pelatihan Quizizz sebagai media evaluasi pembelajaran. Pada akhir kegiatan PKM, diberikan Google Form untuk mengevaluasi kegiatan PKM yang diberikan. Hasil evaluasi yang diperoleh adalah 93,75% peserta merasa sangat puas, 6,25% peserta merasa puas dan tidak ada peserta yang merasa kurang puas atau tidak puas. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan PKM sudah berjalan dengan baik.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a learning approach designed to address the diverse learning needs of students. The aim of this research is to develop a learning design that is suitable for the varying levels of understanding and competency among students, and is effective in meeting the specific learning needs of students at SMP Negeri 17 Kota Kupang, particularly in comprehending the topics related to linear functions, specifically the subchapter on gradients. The research methodology employed is design research, which involves three stages: the preliminary stage (initial design), the implementation stage (experimentation), and the retrospective analysis stage (retrospective analysis). Data collection techniques and instruments used include tests (diagnostic assessment and formative assessment), interviews, and observations. The data analysis techniques employed encompass qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. This research yields a learning design that caters to students' needs and provides ample learning opportunities. Each activity in LKPD aids students in grasping concepts such as determining the gradient of a straight line passing through a central point and another point, finding the gradient of a line passing through two points, determining the gradient of a line from its equation, and applying these skills to solve real-life problems involving gradients. The research findings indicate an improvement in students' understanding and abilities, thus confirming the effectiveness of the developed learning design in enhancing students' learning outcomes.
