Abstract

The development of visual arts murals and paintings in West Nusa Tenggara has presented several names of artists. One of them is designer and artist Altha Rivan. Altha is a designer and visual artist who often uses the plaster fowler metaphor as an object in his works. Through the metaphor of Fowler's palster, Altha tells about various social phenomena around her. And this makes Altha's visual art works very interesting to study and research. In this study, the author uses the theoretical framework of iconology and iconography, Erwin Panofsky. There are three stages in the process of meaning that is carried out, namely pre-iconography, iconography and iconology. In the pre-iconography stage, various formalistic images of existing forms will be obtained. And then developed into the next stage, namely the iconographic analysis stage. The final stage of this study framework is the iconological interpretation stage. Through this theory, we will be able to discover the concept of meaning in works and various other factors that influence it. The results of this study explain that Fowler's palster is a metaphor in Altha Rivan's work. Is an inherent subject that emerges against the background of the artist's past memories and ideas. The metaphor then combines with current problems that he absorbs around him.Keywords: metaphor, design, work, visual. AbstrakPerkembangan seni visual mural dan karya lukis di Nusa Tenggara barat, telah menghadirkan beberapa nama seniman. Salah satunya ialah desainer dan seniman Altha Rivan. Altha adalah desainer dan seniman visual yang banyak menggunakan metafor plaster fowler sebagai objek dalam karya-karyanya. Melalui matafor palster fowler, Altha menceritakan berbagai fenomena social yang ada disekitarnya. Dan hal tersebut menjadikan karya-karya seni visual Altha,  menjadi sangat menarik untuk dikaji dan diteliti.  Tujuan penelitian ini, mengurai makna yang terdapat karya seni visual Altha Rivan, dengan subject matter plaster fowler. Dalam kajian ini, penulis menggunakan kerangka teoritik ikonologi dan ikonografi, Erwin Panofsky. Terdapat tiga tahap dalam proses pemaknaan yang dilakukan yaitu pra ikonografi, ikonografi dan ikonologi. Pada thap pra ikonografi akan didapatkan berbagai citra formalistic bentuk yang ada. Dan selanjutnya dikembangkan kedalam tahap selanjutnya yaitu tahap analisis ikonografi. Tahap akhir dari kerangka kajian ini ialah tahap interpretasi ikonologi. Melalui teori ini, kita akan dapat menemukan konsep makna dalam karya dan berbagai faktor lain yang mempengaruhinya. Hasil pengkajian ini, mejelaskan bahwa palster fowler sebagai metaofr dalam karya Altha Rivan. Adalah sebuah subjek inheren yang muncul dengan latar belakang ingatan dan gan masalalu sang seniman. Abstract

A work of art is a personal expression of each artist, but once a work is born it becomes a form enjoyed by art lovers. In the process of art interaction in the process of creation to meaning, a dialogue has occurred between a work, the artist and their appreciation. This interaction process makes the position of the artwork have an important part as an element of communication that occurs. The process of integrating the three elements of an artist, artwork and apreian can be described as a cycle of aesthetic work. This process can be called the process of aesthetic communication. This study aims to describe the aesthetic communication that can be found in Tarfi Abdullah's paintings. Data collection techniques in the selected research method are qualitative by using observation, interviews, and documentation as information gathering tools. The results of the study show that the process of aesthetic communication contained in Tarfi Abdullah's paintings is presented in various subject matter and themes, such as the theme of tradition, religion and humanity. This theme in Tarfi Abdullah's work has a strong characteristic, namely magical expressiveness.Keywords: communication, aesthetics, visual, painting. AbstrakSebuah karya seni merupakan ekspresi pribadi dari masing-masing seniman, namun begitu sebuah karya lahir menjadi sebuah bentuk yang dinikmati oleh para pecinta seni. Proses interaksi kesenian dalam proses penciptaan hingga pemaknaan, telah terjadi dialog sebuah karya, seniman dan apresianya. Hal tersebut menjadikan  posisi karya seni memiliki bagian penting sebagai elemen komunikasi yang terjadi. Proses interaksi tiga elemen seniman, karya seni dan apresian dapat disebuat sebagai siklus wilayah kerja estetik. Proses tersebut dapat dinamakan  proses komunkasi estetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunkasi estetik yang dapat ditemui pada karya lukis Tarfi Abdullah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam metode penelitian yang dipilih adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai alat pengumpulan informasi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi estetik yang terdapat pada lukisan Tarfi Abdullah dihadirkan dalam berbagai subject matter dan tema, seperti tema tradisi, religi dan tema kemanusiaan. Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu permasalahan dalam gerakan pengajaran Bahasa Inggris di daerah dengan akses pendidikan rendah adalah kurangnya materi ajar yang dikemas dalam silabus yang fleksibel dan reflektif. Oleh karena itu, kami mengorganisir kegiatan lokakarya penyusunan silabus dan buku ajar untuk program English for Young Learners bersama relawan Yayasan Jage Kastare. Dua belas relawan terlibat dalam penyusunan pelevelan, silabus, dan buku ajar. Hasilnya, program EYL JKF dibagi menjadi empat kelas yaitu Crawler, Walker, Runner, dan Flyer, dengan mengkombinasikan pendekatan Cambridge dengan interpretasi pendidikan Bahasa Inggris kritis. Silabus disusun dengan mengedepankan fleksibilitas pendekatan dan penciptaan kegiatan yang menyenangkan agar siswa mendapatkan kesan yang positif dalam konteks English for Young Learners. Buku ajar tersusun, namun masih terus membutuhkan perbaikan dalam beberapa aspek terutama mengenai hak cipta dan penambahan konten lokal. ABSTRACT One of the issues in the English language teaching movement in areas with low access to quality education is the lack of teaching materials packaged in a flexible and reflective syllabus. Therefore, we organized workshops for the preparation of syllabus and textbooks for the English for Young Learners program with volunteers from the Jage Kastare Foundation. Twelve volunteers were involved in preparing the leveling, syllabus and textbooks. The English for Young Learners program is divided into four classes, namely Crawler, Walker, Runner, and Flyer, by combining the Cambridge approach and critical English pedagogy in content. The syllabus was prepared by prioritizing the flexibility of approach and the creation of fun activities so that students gain a positive impression in their process learning English as young learners. The textbooks were successfully composed, but still needing improvement in many aspects, especially regarding copyright and the addition of more local content.

Abstract

ABSTRACTExhibitions can be one of the artistic patterns in presenting works, which are personal or individualistic. These artistic patterns can continue to be carried out by artists in strengthening their existence in the midst of the existing art field. The Mandalika art exhibition carries the theme Besiru as a representation of locality in covering various locality approaches that exist in the tribes of West Nusa Tenggara. Besiru is a social pattern that many people are starting to forget in the midst of modernization.The type of approach used is qualitative research with a naturalistic approach. Qualitative research or also known as naturalistic research. Data analysis techniques are carried out through the activities of collecting data, reducing data, classifying data, analyzing and drawing conclusions. The theoretical study used in this paper is Stuart Hall's representation theory.The conclusion of this study is that all components of design publication, work concept and exhibition management have a common thread with the exhibition theme, namely Besiru. The theme is present as a shared representation of a traditional activity that has begun to be forgotten. The relevance of the Besiru tradition as part of the Mandalika art can be found in the design of the publication and several other things. The illustration of the poster design for the Mandalika art exhibition, taken from several images done by the artists in collaborative installations and individual works. Apart from the exhibition design concept, the philosophical theme of Besiru is also implemented through a curatorial design written by the curator. Besiru's concept and philosophy also became the framework for the artists in creating three collaborative works that they worked on together.Keyword : Besiru, Design, Poster, Fine Art Exhibition

Abstract

Karya seni adalah ekspresi unik dari setiap seniman dan menjadi bentuk realistis dari gagasan estetik yang dapat dinikmati oleh para pecinta seni. Dalam proses penciptaan karya seni rupa, terjadi dialog mendalam antara berbagai fenomena dan faktor psikobiografi seniman. Salah satunya yang dapat dilihat pada karya-karya Satar Tacik, dalam merepresentasikan pola komunikasi estetik pada karya lukisnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengurai bentuk dan makna representasi komunikasi estetik yang dihadirkan dalam karya lukis Satar Tacik. Narasumber inti pada kajian ini ialah Satar Tacik. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan dokumen foto karya, katalog dan beberapa terbitan media. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori komunikasi estetik dalam mengkaji representasi visual yang dihadirkan dalam karya lukisnya. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian deskriptif naturalistik, dengan beberapa tahap penting seperti observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi estetik dalam lukisan Satar Tacik dihadirkan melalui sajian tema tradisi dengan bahasa ungkap yang khas, melalui penggunaan tekstur artifisial pada bidang kanvasnya. Selain itu, komunikasi estetik yang dihadirkan merupakan refleksi personal seniman dalam menghadirkan kembali masa lalu sebagai representasi kondisi psikobiografi sang seniman yang dihadirkan melalui berbagai simbol dan bentuk. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah hadirnya representasi estetik yang dihadirkan Satar Tacik, merupakan sarana efektif sang seniman dalam menjabarkan segala ide dan gagasan yang dimiliki, melalui karya seni rupa. Hadirnya bentuk dan subject matter yang dihadirkan Satar Tacik, merupakan pengaruh kuat faktor psikobiografi yang ia serap selama perjalanan karirnya sebagai seorang seniman.

Abstract

Prosesi nyongkolan pada adat merariq suku Sasak, menjadi proses panting sebagai salah satu aktivitas budaya, yang banyak menjadi sumber gagasan penciptaan karya seni, salah satunya ialah pada bidang seni visual. Kajian dalam tulisan ini, menggunakan teori representasi Stuart Hall dan kombinasi interpretasi dari kritikus Terry Barrett. Kombinasi dua kajian ini akan mengungkapkan bagaimana para seniman merepresentasikan adat nyongkolan dalam prosesi adat merariq menjadi subject matter dalam karya lukisnya. Beberapa temuan dalam tulisan ini, menerangkan bahwa representasi bahasa visual yang digunakan masing-masing perupa memiliki kecenderungan yang beragam dan terdiri dari beberapa tahapan. Masing-masing seniman, I Wayan Pengsong, Lalu Syaukani dan Satar Tacik melalui karyanya menghadirkan representasi tema nyongkolan dalam adat meraih suku Sasak, dengan bahasa ungkap yang dipengaruhi kuat oleh latar belakang psikobiografi masing-masing. I Wayan Pengsong menghadirkan Nyongkolan Tradisi nyongkolan sebagai sebuah budaya yang begitu meriah dengan arak-arakan manusia laki-laki, perempuan, tua dan muda. Keberadaan mempelai yang diarak menggunakan jaran sebagai representasi raja sehari. Komposisi warna, monokromatik, dengan teknik sapuan yang halus (tekstur semu). Lalu Syaukani, menghadirkan tradisi nyongkolan melalui representasi kecantikan dan ketampanan seorang terune sasak melalui berbagai pakaian adat yang digunakan. Satar Tacik menghadirkan tradisi nyongkolan melalui kemeriahan dengan iringan musik dan berbagai jenis iringan dan tarian yang digunakan dalam proses adat tersebut.

Abstract

Sama Guna tourist village in North Lombok Regency has great natural and cultural tourism potential. However, limitations in promotion are a major challenge for the village to attract more tourists. One solution that can be done is to make an informative and interesting village profile video. This community service activity is in the form of mentoring and making a video profile of Sama Guna Tourism Village. This activity actively involves the local community to explore the potential of the village, build promotional narratives, and produce profile videos that authentically represent the village identity. The service method adopts the Participatory Action Research (PAR) service model, with stages including preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding of the importance of digital promotional media, as well as producing profile videos that are ready to be used to promote tourist villages on various platforms.

Abstract

The 2000 United States presidential election and the mistake in announcing the winner of the 2015 Miss Universe beauty pageant contest are controversial events in the world that are thought to have occurred due to poor layout designs. This study used a qualitative approach employing a descriptive method with the researcher as the main instrument. The data in this study are in the form of sentence description obtained from the results of the layout study analyzed using the theory of it works, it organizes, and it attracts. The research subjects are the ballot layout design for the 2000 United States presidential election and the 2015 Miss Universe winner announcement card layout. The results showed that the ballot layout design for the 2000 United States presidential election and the 2015 Miss Universe winner announcement card layout design, based on the theory of it works, it organizes, and it attracts, do not meet the basic categories of a good layout.

Abstract

This community service program was aimed at socializing on how local wisdom-based English curriculum development model carried out for the Public Vocational High School English teachers. Curriculum design by integrating local cultural elements into the development of English language teaching materials is an important uniqueness in the development of the vocational students’ local cultural competencies and linguistics aspects. The method of implementing the community service was carried out by providing socialization of the curriculum development model which is carried out using the lecturing model and Focused Group Discussion (FGD). The results suggest the socialization of local wisdom-based English curriculum development activities is positive with a score scale of 3.01-4.0. There are two important elements in curriculum development by considering the students’ needs, namely elements of local cultural knowledge and linguistic knowledge. There are three requirements in a curriculum development, namely noticing at the students' needs & necessity, learning needs and the patterns of a curriculum design on how to structurally develop.

Abstract

Fine art exhibitions are part of the discourse or publication that will be delivered by the owner of the work presented in public spaces. Where art exhibitions generally attempt to represent a value that is communicated through visual media in the form of paintings. Ahmad Jailani's exhibition is a fine arts event which is published in the form of an exhibition. Behind the exhibition, of course, there is another purpose that will be conveyed to the public. The aim of this research is to try to describe the dimensions of the artist's work in the form of paintings displayed and the dimensions of the curator presented in the form of a curatorial narrative. Because behind both visual and verbal tests there is a purpose and a relationship between one and another. This research uses a qualitative descriptive type of research where the research tries to draw relationships. The method of this research is the Halliday discourse analysis method which consists of what field of discourse is being discussed, the tenor of discourse who is involved in the conversation, and the mode of discourse (mode of discour) the language choices used by the media. The results of the research show that what is exhibited and what is opined is distorted, such as the work and the curatorial theme.
