Abstract

Hinduism has so many rituals or ceremonies to celebrate. One of them is a ceremony to commemorate the Saka New Year which in Indonesia is known as Nyepi Day. Nyepi, Hindus are a series of holidays starting from a few days before and after the holidays, this series of holidays should be introduced, studied, and understood, especially for children of primary school age, because later the children are which will be the successor to the preservation of rituals and knowledge of religion. So there is a need for media that attracts children's interest in studying the framework of Nyepi. So the aim of this research is to design learning aids in the form of a pop-up book that discusses the series of Nyepi holidays which are simple but can be interesting so that they are easily understood by children. This design uses the Design Thinking method to get the right problem-solving solution in designing the work. There are two media in the design, namely the primary media for the book Pop-Up Series Hari Raya Nyepi and secondary media, namely X-Banner and merchandise. By designing the Pop-Up book for the Nyepi holiday series, it is hoped that it can become a new media choice as a learning companion in order to experience the series of Nyepi holidays for children at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The National Agency for the Control of Britain (BNPB) noted that 515 people died from the earthquake in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Seeing this problem, the author wants to make an animation of earthquake disaster relief procedures that will be used by the BPBD as an additional medium for socializing and delivering information to increase public knowledge about procedures for saving earthquake disasters, especially children. In the process of making this animation using the pipeline method which includes three stages, namely the first stage of pre-production, the second stage of production The third stage of post-production. After doing all the stages are expected to be able to produce animation procedures for earthquake disaster rescue for children. So that this animated video can be used as a media for information dissemination or information delivery by the West Nusa Tenggara Province BPBD office which is more effective for introducing elementary school students. To determine the feasibility of the animation that was made, a beta test was conducted by submitting questionnaires to 30 respondents. The results obtained are animated procedures for rescuing earthquake disasters for children to be used as media for information dissemination or delivery of information by the West Nusa Tenggara Province BPBD office.

Abstract

Mental health has become a big problem in Indonesia. Adolescents are a category that is prone to stress, and is often handled inappropriately by themselves, relatives, or parents. Stress is still considered a trivial matter for most Indonesians. In fact, stress is one of the triggers for various kinds of physical and psychological ailments. The lack of interesting reading for teenagers about stress makes this phenomenon still difficult to get the first treatment before it continues to an undesirable stage. The purpose of this design is to create an illustrated book that discusses stress information with the content as simple as possible and attractive so that it is easily understood by adolescents. This design uses themethod design thinking in order to get the right problem-solving solution in designing the work. There are two media in the design, namely primary media, illustrated books, information about stress and secondary media, namely x-banners and merchandise. By designing this illustration book, it is hoped that it can become a new media choice as informative reading about stress.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has been going on for a year and has claimed a lot of casualties, and until now positive cases have continued to increase to close to a thousand positive cases per day. To prevent transmission of this disease and reduce positive cases, the government through the Ministry of Health has made various educational efforts to the public in order to follow and comply with health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. While the purpose of this research is to find out how persuasive communication of PSAs in its efforts to educate the public through visual works in the form of banners, billboards and videos. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive case study, through data collection procedures in direct interviews with several respondents and spread questions in the form of questionnaires distributed on social media. From the analysis of research data, it was found that the behavior of the target audience towards PSAs was not very good, where some informants did not care about the education and persuasiveness of PSAs and most only cared about PSAs which contained sanctions if they did not follow government recommendations. the weakness is that the information on PSA advertisements is often less attractive, and tends to be monotonous and less maintenance-wise. Persuasive communication theory is Simulated Disinterest, which states that through this persuasion technique, persuader attempts to suppress feelings of anxiety and the attitude of forcing targets to follow their wishes. This theory is used in the making of public service advertisements in Figure 5. and this persuasive technique is thought to be able to attract attention and make the public willing to carry out an invitation from the government.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe development of t-shirt design in this decade cannot be separated from how the development and cultural identity in which the design work is presented. Design exploration with a combination of locality values ​​has become an important issue for design products in several t-shirt outlets in Lombok, one of which is Gandrung Lombok. The concept of regional culture became the thematic for the Gandrung Lombok t-shirt design, in addition to other themes. The purpose of this study is focuse on exploring the value of tradition in the concept of Gandrung Lombok t-shirt design as a representation of local cultural values ​​reflected in t-shirt design works on the market. This research uses naturalistic qualitative research methods, by extracting data with natural settings that occur in the field. In this study, findings can befound in the form of Gandrung Lombok designers, who have a strong awareness of making local cultural identities the subject matter of their t-shirt design works in the market. There is an exploration of concepts and ideas in every existing t-shirt design. The exploration in question is changed in two patterns, namely deformation (addition) and stylization (reduction) of shape with a mix of pop colors. Some of the thematics in the design of the Gandrung Lombok t-shirt are, sasak flute blower, drum beleq, songket weaving motifs and mask craft designs. Overall, the elements and ideas for creating the Gandrung Lombok t-shirt design with the theme of tradition are rooted in local activities and culture, namely Lombok culture.

Abstract

"El Empleo" is a silent animated film that won 102 Awards. This animated film is only equipped with sound effects, so that makes it alive. This film is very important to be investigated when viewed from the uniqueness that is located in a strange visual, humans are used as tools and objects around their residence. This animated film, communicates messages through verbal signs However, not everyone understands the meaning of the sign. Therefore, the problem that arises in this research is about how the verbal signs are displayed in the animated film " El Empleo ". The purpose of this study is to analyze in-depth in the first, middle and end scenes of verbal signs, the intent that the animator communicates in the animated film. The method used is qualitative interpretative with the foundation of Charles S. Pierce's semiotics theory. The results of this study are verbal signs in the form of icons of men living as bosses; human symbolized as a seat, vehicle (taxi), traffic signs, and as a toilet mat; index contained in the expression of the face of the character/character that indicates power and oppression. In conclusion, at the level of verbal signs in the first, middle, and final scenes, they can be divided into icons depicting a man living a boss; humans as subordinates are symbolized as seats, vehicles, traffic signs, even as footwear in front of the toilet door, the index looks at the boss's facial expression, and subordinates that indicate oppression. The purpose and objectives as a symbolic message that signifies power are not always owned, but on the contrary the power will be oppressed.

Abstract

The existence of the GP Mandalika series logo design is very important to do to brand existing activities. In this paper, the author will specifically make a study of the meanings and signs implied in the GP Mandalika logo. This paper aims to make a study and analysis of the meanings and signs contained in the GP Mandalika series logo design. The type of research method used in this paper is qualitative research, with the analytical method using Charles Sander Peirce's semiotic triadic theory. In this theory there are three important points as a sub-study. Such as object, interpretant and representamen. These three points in Peirce's triadic theory are known as the semiosis process, which is also a study process in analyzing the meanings and signs of the GP Mandalika series logo design. Some of the results of the studies found in this study, are that there are several elements of visual communication design in the GP Mandalika series logo. The logo elements are in the form of monograms and wordmarks which are also a trademark for racing events at the Mandalika GP series. The monogram is an abstract form consisting of a mosaic of constituent letters in the abbreviation GP Mandalika. The wordmark on the GP Mandalika series logo uses the Arial typeface which has been modified in several parts. The combination of letters and the use of the right colors strengthens the identity of the logo. Overall, the design of the GP Madalika series logo can represent the cultural identity of Indonesia, especially Lombok and the competitive sport of racing through the shape of the existing logo. It is hoped that the existence and business of cultural branding and activities will continue to be carried out as an effort to preserve the locality values they have. Keywords: analysis, signs, GP Mandalika Series. AbstrakKeberadaan desain logo GP Mandalika series, sangat penting dilakukan untuk membranding kegiatan yang ada.  Pada tulisan ini, penulis akan secara khusus membuat kajian tentang makna dan tanda yang tersirat pada logo GP Mandalika. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk membuat kajian dan analisis makna dan tanda yang terdapat pada desain logo GP Mandalika series. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini ialah penelitian kualitatif, dengan metode analisis menggunakan teori triadik semiotik Charles Sander Peirce. Dalam teori ini terdapat tiga point penting sebagai subkajian. Seperti objek, interpretan dan representamen. Ketiga poin dalam teori triadik Peirce ini dikenal sebagai proses semiosis, yang sekaligus sebagai proses kajian dalam menganalisis makna dan tanda pada desain logo GP Mandalika series. Beberapa hasil kajian yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini, ialah terdapat beberapa elemen desain komunikasi visual pada logo GP Mandalika series. Elemen logo tersebut berupa monogram dan wordmark yang sekaligus menjadi trademark event balap di GP Mandalika series. Monogram berupa bentuk abstrak yang terdiri mozaik huruf penyusun dalam singkatan GP Mandalika. Wordmark pada logo GP mandalika series menggunakan jenis huruf arial yang telah dimodifikasi pada beberapa bagian. Kombinasi bentuk huruf dan penggunaan warna yang tepat menguatkan identitas pada logo tersebut. Secara kesluruhan desain logo GP Madalika series dapat mewakili identitas budaya Indoneisa, khususya Lombok dan kompetitifnya olahraga balap melalui bentuk logo yang ada. Abstract

The GOs (Graphic Organizers) strategy, which was used in reading comprehension and writing skills research, was then developed into a strategy that could be used as a medium for developing ppt materials. and as an effective and efficient presentation strategy to be used in scientific presentations. This GOs strategy is applied in guiding students in the computer science undergraduate study program in the form of community service (PkM) aimed at increasing student creativity as participants in developing GOs-based creative materials and developing communication skills in delivering scientific presentation materials in class. . This activity was carried out for level I students at Bumigora University with a total of 30 participants. The following are the solutions and steps involved in this PkM activity, namely the use of Graphic Organizers as an effective solution in providing guidance and improvement in conducting scientific presentations carried out by PkM partners. . There are two methods used in providing guidance on the use of the GOs strategy, namely the lecture method where they are given an understanding of the basic concepts of GOs and the simulation method or practice of implementing the Graphic Organizers strategy directly which is carried out by the facilitator/PKM implementation team and followed by the participants. in a participatory manner. The results of this activity show good results and the level of achievement of its use is high. Based on structured observations, it reached a score of 3.7 with a percentage of 73%. The second evaluation was carried out by measuring the perceptions of GOs users, which was a score of 3.8 with a percentage of 77%. Evaluation based on this perception value is high (3.01-4.0).

Abstract

A work of art is a personal expression of each artist, but once a work is born it becomes a form enjoyed by art lovers. In the process of art interaction in the process of creation to meaning, a dialogue has occurred between a work, the artist and their appreciation. This interaction process makes the position of the artwork have an important part as an element of communication that occurs. The process of integrating the three elements of an artist, artwork and apreian can be described as a cycle of aesthetic work. This process can be called the process of aesthetic communication. This study aims to describe the aesthetic communication that can be found in Tarfi Abdullah's paintings. Data collection techniques in the selected research method are qualitative by using observation, interviews, and documentation as information gathering tools. The results of the study show that the process of aesthetic communication contained in Tarfi Abdullah's paintings is presented in various subject matter and themes, such as the theme of tradition, religion and humanity. This theme in Tarfi Abdullah's work has a strong characteristic, namely magical expressiveness.Keywords: communication, aesthetics, visual, painting. AbstrakSebuah karya seni merupakan ekspresi pribadi dari masing-masing seniman, namun begitu sebuah karya lahir menjadi sebuah bentuk yang dinikmati oleh para pecinta seni. Proses interaksi kesenian dalam proses penciptaan hingga pemaknaan, telah terjadi dialog sebuah karya, seniman dan apresianya. Hal tersebut menjadikan  posisi karya seni memiliki bagian penting sebagai elemen komunikasi yang terjadi. Proses interaksi tiga elemen seniman, karya seni dan apresian dapat disebuat sebagai siklus wilayah kerja estetik. Proses tersebut dapat dinamakan  proses komunkasi estetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunkasi estetik yang dapat ditemui pada karya lukis Tarfi Abdullah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam metode penelitian yang dipilih adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai alat pengumpulan informasi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi estetik yang terdapat pada lukisan Tarfi Abdullah dihadirkan dalam berbagai subject matter dan tema, seperti tema tradisi, religi dan tema kemanusiaan.
