Abstract

This paper investigates and analyze Archivelago Library efforts in literacy about marine and fisheries. This research focuses on program participated by the Bunayya Integrated Play Group, on November 16, 2022 in Jakarta. This research is qualitative type with descriptive study approach.  Data collection method by interview, documentation and literature study. The data is discussed with the theory of literacy, namely the theory of emergent literacy. Data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The research subjects consisted of head librarians, librarians, and teachers from schools participating in this program. The results of this study showed that 39 childrens participated and were accompanied by 7 teachers. This program is carried out based on the planning concept in accordance with the Terms of Reference and the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number PER. 08/PERMEN-KP/2014 concerning Guidelines for Organizing Special Libraries. Based on the findings, the concept of this program focuses on forming mindsets, perspectives on oneself and the environment as a maritime nation. The various activities carried out include library tours, storytelling, watching movies, and coloring. The benefits of this program are not only felt by the participants, but also the Archivelago Library.

Abstract

Kerjasama bukan lagi suatu pilihan melainkan suatu keharusan bagi perpustakaan dalam mewujudkan peran yang dimiliki. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguraikan kerjasama yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung dengan Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Bandung. Kajian difokuskan pada upaya kerjasama yang dilakukan untuk memperkaya sumber informasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi literatur dan wawancara mendalam dengan informan yang merupakan pengelola perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) adanya dorongan kuat baik dari internal maupun eksternal perpustakaan untuk melakukan kerjasama 2) Dilakukannya pembuatan Memorandum of Agreement sebagai bukti kerjasama hingga terwujudlah bentuk kerjasama yang dilakukan sebagai upaya memperluas sumber informasi seperti kerjasama dalam pemanfaatan bersama koleksi yang dimiliki baik dalam bentuk fisik maupun digital 3) Kerjasama berdampak pada peningkatan sumber informasi, jaringan pengetahuan,meningkatkan citra perpustakaan dan efisiensi biaya operasional 4) Ditemuinya kendala dalam kerjasama seperti kurangnya komunikasi yang terjalin serta minimnya sumber daya yang dimiliki perpustakaan.

Abstract

Di era pesatnya teknologi dan informasi ternyata minat baca pada kalangan masyarakat masih rendah, tak terkecuali pada mahasiswa. Sedangkan membaca merupakan hal yang dasar dalam proses pembelajaran. Dimana jika terjadinya pembelajaran yang baik, maka efikasi diri yang dimiliki akan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah adanya hubungan antara minat baca dengan efikasi diri mahasiswa di Perguruan Tinggi Bandung Raya. Metode penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan datanya yaitu survei dan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi Universitas Padjadjaran, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, dan Telkom University. Sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan Quota Sampling sebesar 376 sampel. Uji data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji Pearson Product Moment. Berdasarkan analisis korelasi diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat baca dengan efikasi diri mahasiswa. Maka semakin tinggi minat baca semakin tinggi pula efikasi diri mahasiswa.

Abstract

The issuance of National Library Regulation Number 10 of 2023 concerning National Standards for Special School Libraries can be a reference to determine the suitability of the application of special school library components. The purpose of this study is to determine the analysis of service and staff components in the Special School (SLB) Negeri Cicendo Library based on the standards in National Library Regulation Number 10 of 2023. In this study, a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach was used. The results show that the SLB Negeri Cicendo Library had implemented 7 out of 13 indicators in the service and staff components of the library. Applied 2 indicators out of a total of 4 indicators in the library service component. Applied 5 indicators out of a total of 9 indicators in the library staff component.

Abstract

Jatmika Reading House is a community library that actively teaches environmental literacy through various activities, one of which is eco-enzyme making. This study aims to explore the role of volunteers in eco-enzyme making, identify the challenges faced during the activity, and understand the motivation of volunteers in contributing to Jatmika Reading House's activities. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The informants in this study were two volunteers who were selected through a purposive sampling technique due to their direct involvement in eco-enzyme-making activity. Data collection techniques included interviews, indirect observation, documentation, and literature review. This research is important because although environmental education has developed, there are still few studies that specifically discuss the role of volunteers in teaching environmental literacy to children. In fact, volunteers have a strategic role in introducing the concept of sustainability and building environmental awareness through community activities. The results showed that volunteers acted as facilitators, mentors, instructors, encouragers, and organizers of children's participation. They faced various challenges, such as unconducive conditions due to limited tools and materials and an inadequate number of volunteers, resulting in less optimal activity management. Volunteers' motivations varied, ranging from the satisfaction of sharing knowledge and commitment to improving community literacy to personal happiness in social interaction. The findings from this study are expected to provide new insights to strengthen environmental literacy programs involving volunteers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi kegiatan membaca teks ilmu pengetahuan menggunakan metode good reading dan Penilaian Acuan Patokan (PAP) dengan prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Prestasi akademik mahasiswa menggunakan ketentuan indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dan metode observasi menggunakan studi eksperimen. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran, dengan kelompok eksperimen (N=34), dan kelompok kontrol (N=44). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prestasi akademik mahasiswa yang diklasifikasikan rendah, sedang, dan tinggi, memiliki hubungan significant dengan metode baca good reading. Prestasi akademik yang diklasifikasikan menggunakan metode PAP (Penilaian Acuan Patokan), memiliki hubungan significant dengan metode baca good reading. Dapat dikatakan bahwa metode PAP lebih cocok digunakan untuk mengklasifikasi prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Metode baca good reading memiliki kepercayaan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan metode reading habit jika dikaitkan dengan prestasi akademik mahasiswa.

Abstract

Artefak di Museum Sri Baduga menyimpan keragaman pengetahuan lokal tentang budaya Sunda. Hal ini menjadi penting untuk dikaji sebab masyarakat di tanah Pasundan memiliki kearifan yang agung sebagai identitas kesukuan selama ratusan hingga ribuan tahun lamanya. Meski masyarakat terus mengalami pergantian generasi, keluhuran tersebut masih dapat digali melalui benda-benda peninggalan mereka, salah satunya melalui museum bentukkan pemerintah Jawa-Barat, yakni Museum Sri Baduga. Dengan demikian aneka jenis koleksi menjadi bukti fisik akan pengetahuan yang dikuasai masyarakat di penjuru Jawa-Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memetakan pengetahuan lokal Sunda yang terdapat dalam koleksi di Museum Sri Baduga, oleh sebab itu digunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan strategi naratif serta metode pengumpulan data melalui interpretasi dokumen kebudayaan di museum tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan masyarakat terbagi dalam kemampuan membuat kain tradisional, mata pencaharian, tata kota, alat penerangan, kerajinan tangan, industri kecil pande besi, penanggalan, kesenian, permainan anak-anak, serta bahasa dan aksara. Penelitian ini bermanfaat sebagai sumber informasi bagi siapa saja yang memiliki minat utuk meneliti tentang pengetahuan lokal, khususnya di tatar Sunda. Pengelompokkan pengetahuan ini memudahkan pembaca dalam memilah pengetahuan apa saja yang dikuasai masyarakat Sunda sehingga bisa menjadi rujukan untuk penelitian selanjutnya atau penelitian sejenis yang lebih mendalam.

Abstract

Rapid advances in technology are making it more convenient for the various activities currently being carried out. Technology that continues to develop requires humans to be able to follow these developments. The Nagari Children's Reading House is one of the agencies that has developed an automation system as an application of this technology. The purpose of this study was to analyze the use of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) at Rumah Baca Anak Nagari and to assist in data entry into SLiMS. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The Nagari Children's Reading House has used SLiMS which they learned self-taught and from training held by the library. By using SLiMS, they are able to arrange books on the shelves according to their classification numbers and can make it easier to find books in this reading house.

Abstract

Information need is a cognitive condition where individuals seek relevant information to support decision-making and fulfill specific needs. Understanding information needs is crucial for comprehending information-seeking and use behaviors, especially in the increasingly complex digital age. This study aims to map the development of publications related to information needs, identify research trends and relationships between scientific concepts, as well as author collaboration networks (co-authorship) and keywords. This mapping is beneficial for academics, policymakers, and information professionals. This quantitative descriptive study employed a bibliometric approach, analyzing 3,941 English-language documents indexed in Scopus from 2014 to 2024, using the keyword "information needs." Results indicate a publication increase until 2021, followed by a decline, potentially linked to research focus shifts and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The journal "Library Philosophy and Practice" affirms its significant role in academic discourse. Author collaboration networks demonstrate intense cooperation among researchers from various institutions and countries. Research focuses on information needs, decision-making, and information retrieval, with a significant response to global issues. Keyword visualization reveals a close relationship between information needs, technology, and human behavior. This study concludes that information need is a multidimensional topic with significant contributions across disciplines, offering opportunities for further research, particularly in health information literacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of digital literacy among Generation Z in Sleman Regency in conducting transactions on Shopee. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques come from primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents, complemented by literature reviews and interviews to strengthen the evidence. The respondents of this study are Generation Z in Sleman Regency. The research findings reveal that the ability of Generation Z in Sleman Regency to use and disseminate information falls into the moderate category, accounting for 87%. The ability to create and collaborate is also in the moderate category, with 48%. The ability to analyze and evaluate falls into the high category, at 45%. Meanwhile, the ability to apply ethical judgment is categorized as moderate, with 93%. Overall, across the four core digital literacy skills, the majority of Generation Z in Sleman Regency who have conducted transactions on Shopee are categorized as moderate, representing 55%. This indicates that most Generation Z in Sleman Regency have fairly good digital literacy, although there remains a small portion with low digital literacy. Therefore, efforts to enhance digital literacy among Generation Z in Sleman Regency are still needed, as increased digital literacy is expected to improve security and awareness in using and optimizing digital platforms.
