Abstract

This study aims to build a socioscientific issues discussion framework through social networks "facebook". This is a developmental research within cyclic model. Five cycles performed to find a a socioscientific issues discussion framework that can support argumentation skill.  Almost 183 participants were involved in the development of  socioscientific issues discussion framework. Abstract

Preliminary studies have been conducted to obtain an overview of the scientific attitude profiles biology student teachers in the Department of Biology Education Program Mathematics Education FKIP Unsri . Data obtained by involving 65 students who attended the lectures of animal physiology . Instrument in the form of a questionnaire which contains eight characteristics include the scientific attitude of curiosity, rationality, willingness to suspend judgment, open-minded, critical thinking, objectivity, intellectual honesty, and humility. Descriptive statistics were used in the processing of the data obtained . It can be concluded that the scientific attitude of students showed a fairly good degree of attitude.                                                                                                                                      Keywords : scientific attitude, prospective biology student teachers

Abstract

A spectrophotometric technique for the determination of the CuSO4 soret coefficient of a CuSO4-water binary solutions system is described. A short column of solutions is placed between horizontal metal plates that are held at different temperatures. The subsequent changes in composition due to thermal diffusion are followed by monitoring changes of transmittance near the end of the solutions column. In water, CuSO4 diffuses to the warm compartment of column. The soret coefficient of CuSO4 0.0254 molal in water agrees with the appropriate theory, i.e. 17.60x10-3 °C-1 on the average.

Abstract

Selain melahirkan berbagai kemudahan, pesatnya perkembangan industri jugamenimbulkan berbagai masalah karena kurangnya literasi sains. PadaSMK/MAK terdapat Projek Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) yangcenderung fokus pada pengembangan literasi sains dengan aspek-aspek ilmupengetahuan alam dan sosial yang kontekstual dan aktual. Terdapat banyakmodel, pendekatan, dan metode yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengingkatkanliterasi sains siswa, salah satunya dengan pembelajaran berbasis proyek atauProject Based Learning (PjBL). Mengingat sangat penting bagi guru untukmemahami tentang konten kimia dan model PjBL, Departemen PendidikanKimia UPI melaksanakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat denganmemberikan pelatihan kepada guru-guru SMK/MAK untuk meningkatkanpemahaman guru mengenai konten kimia dan model PjBL. Kegiatan inidilaksanakan secara terstruktur dan sistematis dengan metode daring danluring yang setara dengan 32 JP. Kegiatan Pengabdian ini melibatkan guruguru SMK di wilayah Kabupaten Sumedang dan Majalengka. Kegiatantersebut terdiri dari pemaparan materi tentang literasi sains dan project basedlearning, pendalaman konten kimia, serta workshop perancangan perangkatpembelajaran PjBL berorientasi literasi sains. Melalui kegiatan workshop paraguru sudah berhasil merancang pembelajaran dengan model PjBLberdasarkan permasalahan yang ada didaerah masing-masing. Rancanganrancangan yang dibuat sudah dapat diterapkan di sekolah hanya saja belumfokus pada satu permasalahan atau satu konteks tertentu. Setelah prosesdiskusi dan perbaikan rancangan-rancangan tersebut sudah cukup baik dandapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran disekolah

Abstract

Media memiliki peran penting dalam membantu peserta didik mencapai hasil dan tujuan pembelajaran secara optimal. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengembangan media pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan bahan-bahan yang terdapat di sekitar siswa untuk memudahkan siswa dalam mempelajari materi termokimia. Kelayakan media yang dikembangkan dievaluasi melalui penilaian materi, media, dan respon pengguna. Keefektifan media pembelajaran diukur melalui pencapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa terhadap nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Pada penelitian dan pengembangan ini digunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Validasi media oleh guru sejawat menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran termokimia berbahan dasar material lokal yang dikembangkan sesuai dengan tuntutan materi dan telah memenuhi kriteria menarik, praktis, dan sangat layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran termokimia. Hampir seluruh siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap media yang dikembangkan dan menilai bahwa media termokimia berbahan dasar material local dapat membantu pengembangan aspek bekerjasama dan berkomunikasi siswa. Penilaian terhadap ulangan harian siswa selama tiga tahun menunjukkan bahwa hampir sebagian besar siswa memperoleh nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai KKM, yang mengindikasikan bahwa media yang digunakan efektif dalam membantu pencapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa. Media yang dikembangkan menyediakan alternatif inovasi pembelajaran yang mampu membantu pencapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa.

Abstract

Guru kimia disyaratkan untuk memiliki 4 kompetensi yang mencakup kompetensi pedagogik, kepribadian, sosial dan profesional. Beberapa keterbatasan guru yang telah teridentifikasi diantaranya adalah masih lemahnya literasi dan kemampuan berfikir kritis, yang menyebabkan pembelajaran kimia lebih bersifat teoritis. Hal ini menjadi salah satu penyebab rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa untuk mempelajari kimia. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, perlu dilakukan kegiatan penyegaran dan pendalaman materi bagi guru, sehingga diharapkan guru menjadi lebih percaya diri dalam menyajikan pembelajaran kimia yang menarik dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Workshop dilakukan dengan mengadopsi model pembelajaran Problem-based Learning (PBL) untuk memberikan pengalaman kepada guru dalam bertindak sebagai fasilitator untuk memberikan rangsangan kepada siswa dalam mempelajari kimia. Materi termokimia dipilih karena merupakan stimulus yang baik dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada fenomena sehari-hari melalui pengetahuan kimia. Melalui workshop ini, dihasilkan luaran berupa analisis kurikulum serta strategi pembelajaran materi termokimia yang siap diaplikasikan oleh guru.Chemistry teachers are required to have four competencies which include pedagogic, personality, social and professional competencies. Some of the teacher's limitations that have been identified are weak literacy and critical thinking skills, which causes chemistry learning to be more theoretical. This is one of the causes of the low interest and motivation of students to study chemistry. To overcome this, it is necessary to conduct workshop and deepen the material for teachers, so that teachers are expected to become more confident in presenting chemistry lessons that are interesting and relevant to everyday life. The workshop was carried out by adopting a Problem-based Learning (PBL) learning model to provide experience for teachers as facilitators that stimulates students in chemistry learning. Thermochemistry topic was chosen because it is a good stimulus in solving problems in everyday phenomena through chemical knowledge. Through this workshop, outputs are produced in the form of curriculum analysis and learning strategies for thermochemical materials that are ready to be applied by teachers.

Abstract

Dalam menghadapi era Society 5.0, dunia pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia. Kegiatan pembelajaran harus dapat membangun kecakapan-kecapakan hidup Abad 21, literasi, dan pengembangan karakter. Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran sangat dibutuhkan untuk menarik perhatian dan motivasi peserta didik karena peserta didik yang kita hadapi saat ini (Generasi Z) memiliki keterikatan yang sangat kuat dengan media digital dan teknologi. Oleh sebab itu, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia dan Kimia FPMIPA UPI mengadakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada para guru Kimia SMA untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang inovatif untuk menghadapi tantangan pendidikan di Era Society 5.0. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan yang melibatkan 50 Guru Kimia. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara terstruktur dan sistematis dengan mengombinasikan motode daring dan luring dengan alokasi waktu setara dengan 32 JP. Kegiatan pelatihan terdiri atas tiga tahapan meliputi pemaparan materi, pengembangan dan implementasi rancangan pembelajaran inovatif, serta pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Pada kegiatan ini para guru memanfaatkan laboratorium virtual dan bahan ajar berbasis video dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil implementasi penggunaan laboratorium virtual dan bahan ajar berbasis video dapat meningkatkan motivasi, partisipasi, dan pemahaman peserta didik. Dari data hasil implementasi para guru berhasil menuliskan artikel ilmiah yang nantinya akan dipublikasi pada jurnal nasional. In the era of Society 5.0, education has an important role in improving the quality of Human Resources. Learning activities must be able to build 21st Century life skills, literacy, and character development. The use of technology in learning is really needed to attract students' attention and motivation since the students are Z Generation which have a strong attachment to digital media and technology. Therefore, the Chemistry Education and Chemistry Study Program FPMIPA UPI conducted a Community Service by providing a training to high school chemistry teachers to increase teacher competency in designing an innovative learning to prepare education in the Era of Society 5.0. This activity takes the form of training involving 50 Chemistry Teachers. The activity is carried out in a structured and systematic training by combining online and offline methods with a time allocation equivalent to 32 hours. The training activities consisted of three stages including presentation of material, designing, and implementing an innovative learning activity, as well as training in writing academic papers. In this activity the teachers utilized virtual laboratories and video-based teaching materials in learning. Based on the implementation, the use of virtual laboratories and video-based teaching materials can increase students' motivation, participation, and understanding. From the implementation data, the teachers succeeded in writing academic articles which will be published in a national journal.

Abstract

A flipbook with augmented reality based on ethnoscience, supported by Heyzine and Assembler, contains nanotechnology content for high school students. It is an interactive learning media in the form of an electronic book that contains photos, text, and animated content designed to assist students in learning the material through the visuals offered. Page flipping has a transition effect that helps students read each page and increases their learning use. Applied visual arts ethnoscience exemplifies the combination of community culture and science. Augmented reality is utilized to show objects in 3D and realistically related to the ethnoscience of applied fine arts in the Cirebon area, such as the scissor-grip home, megamendung batik, ceramics, masks, kujang, and paintings. The goal of this research is to develop digital teaching materials that can adjust to evolving technologies in order to increase educational quality. The data was collected using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design for a total of 30 students, which was then processed using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) using descriptive statistics. This study found that students had good perceptions of the presence of a flipbook media with AR based on ethnoscience. Ethnoscience-based digital learning media can be used as interactive learning media because they provide precise visualizations of the concepts and conditions encountered during the learning process.

Abstract

Di era Revolusi Industri 4.0, keterampilan berpikir komputasi (Computational Thinking/CT) menjadi kompetensi esensial bagi mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep biomolekul yang kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis integrasi CT dalam perkuliahan biomolekul serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap empat dosen pengampu mata kuliah biomolekul di dua perguruan tinggi negeri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun CT telah diakui sebagai bagian dari kebijakan pendidikan tinggi, penerapannya dalam perkuliahan biomolekul masih terbatas. Sebagian dosen telah mencoba menerapkan strategi seperti dekomposisi masalah dan analisis pola dalam reaksi biokimia, namun hambatan utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya pemahaman terhadap implementasi CT serta keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung seperti laboratorium dengan teknologi simulasi. Selain itu, evaluasi terhadap keterampilan CT mahasiswa dalam soal ujian masih bersifat implisit dan belum diukur secara sistematis. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pelatihan bagi dosen serta inovasi dalam metode pembelajaran berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas integrasi CT dalam perkuliahan biomolekul.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance and integration of contextual chemistry content, particularly focusing on redox reactions in the context of corrosion in automotive chassis maintenance, into the vocational education curriculum of Light Vehicle Engineering (Teknik Kendaraan Ringan Otomotif/TKRO) programs. Utilizing the Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) method, this research examines curriculum documents, IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) modules, and interviews with both science and vocational teachers to identify gaps between chemistry teaching and vocational practices. The results reveal that essential chemical concepts such as oxidation-reduction reactions, electrochemistry, and corrosion science are currently absent or underrepresented in the general science curriculum. These omissions hinder students’ understanding of crucial maintenance procedures related to metal degradation, material selection, and protective treatments. The study proposes a contextualized chemistry material outline to bridge this gap, enabling vocational students to apply scientific principles effectively in real-world automotive settings. Findings from this study advocate for the incorporation of redox and electrochemical content in vocational science education to enhance both conceptual understanding and technical competency.
