Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Peningkatan produksi melalui intensifikasi sistem budidaya menyebabkan peningkatan penggunaan pakan buatan.

Abstract

Sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is a cultivated species favored by Indonesian and has great potential for development. However, the obstacle to the success of catfish cultivation is a disease. One alternative to overcome this problem is by giving immunostimulants from natural ingredients. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of feeding with moringa leaf powder on non-specific immunity and growth performance of sangkuriang catfish. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments (100% commercial feed, commercial feed with 1.5% Moringa leaf supplementation, commercial feed with 3% Moringa leaf supplementation, and commercial feed with Moringa leaf supplementation 4.5%, and 3 replications. The results showed that the commercial feed with 4.5% moringa leaf supplementation gave the best results for total erythrocytes of 5.97x104 cells/mm3 and MCV of 92.10 fl, and increased the absolute weight growth of 46.42 g. However, it did not show a significant effect on total erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCHC, MCH, MCV, total leukocytes, leukocyte differentials, phagocytic activity, phagocytosis index, absolute weight growth survival rate, and the value of the feed convention ratio (FCR).

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) strain of Sultana (superior selection of salabintana) is a new variety developed by the Center for Freshwater Resources Development (BBPABT) Sukabumi, West Java. Sultana tilapia is the result of crossing 10 superior varieties such as gift tilapia, jica, white, and other superior tilapia. Many factors cause the high price of feed, one of which is dependent on imported raw materials for feed manufacture. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the use of local raw materials with different protein content in feed for the growth of tilapia and reduce production costs by using local raw materials as feed ingredients. This research was conducted from March 21 to June 19, 2020 at the Integrated Field Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments with three replications. The treatments given included 30% protein treatment (A), 33% protein treatment (B), 36% treatment (C), and commercial feed control (D) for 60 days of maintenance. The data obtained were analyzed by using the ANOVA test and followed by the Duncan test. The results obtained in this study are that treatment B has the best FCR value and is significantly different compared to other treatments so as to produce the best growth. Besides that, treatment A and C also had a significantly different FCR value compared to the control

Abstract

Indigofera leaf meal can be used as an alternative raw material and has high potential as a source of vegetable protein for Hoven’s carp fry to reduce the use of imported raw materials. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of using indigofera leaf meal with different combinations of feed as feed raw materials on growth performance and survival of Hoven’s carp (Leptobarbus hoevenii) fry. This study was carried out from July to August 2021 at the freshwater aquaculture center (BPBAT) Sungai Gelam Jambi. This study method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications, i.e: control (commercial feed 100%), treatment 1 (commercial feed 50%+ indigofera leaf meal 50%), and treatment 2 (indigofera leaf meal 100%). The data obtained were analyzed by Anova and further tested by Duncan's test. Based on the analysis of variance, the use of Indigofera zollingeriana leaf meal had a significant effect (P<0.05) on absolute weight growth, absolute length, specific growth rate, and feed conversion ratio, while survival rates were not significantly different (P >0.05). The results showed that the increasing proportion of the use of indigofera leaf meal experienced a decrease in the growth performance of Hoven’s carp fry.
