Abstract

STAIN Malang as one of institute of higher education does not stop to race in realizing its mission and vision in order to reach target of National education. Hence from that STAIN chooses certain lecturer as Counselor academic to give tuition, motivate and the advice to student academically, furthermore, in certain boundary, students really need academic adviser to support their learning process and in developing their potency. Pursuant to the background, problem and purpose of this research is to know the function and the role academic adviser in STAIN Malang.Population in this research is all students of STAIN Malang in first semester of academic year 2002-2003 amounts to 4641 students. The sample is 10% from population by random sampling technique. The method using in collecting data is questioner as prior method, beside that, documentation method and interview as support method. To test validity and reliability of measuring instrument used computer with SPS program of Sutrisno Hadi and Yuni Pamardiningsih, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. To analyze data use technique percentage.Academic advisers in STAIN Malang have conducted his function and role as student motivator and counselor well but not optimal yet.Keywords: role, function, and academic adviser.

Abstract

The paradigm of education in the future is democracy. The system of education, which is democratic will result the alumnus that have influence in the social life and can be involved in making public decisions. However, the reality is not as expected. The system of education, which apply now is education dominated by system of delivering information not processing information. Beside that, the relation between teacher and student is not based on togetherness but domination; the teacher dominates students. Therefore, to develop the democratic education, it is a must to do reformation and reorientation to the system of education. It involves, at least, four aspects: 1. Change the management of education from centralistic to decentralization, 2. Change the curriculum of education from theoretic oriented to problem oriented; how the teacher deliver subject of teaching from the real problem faced by students with constructivist approach. 3. Considering students as subject, not only as object. 4. Teacher does not dominate, but plays as facilitator and motivator (Tut wuri handayani). Keywords: Education and democracy.

Abstract

Islamic studies is considered both religious and scientific activities. As scientific activities it needs to establish its scientific bases through the study of philosophy of science. From the perspective of philosophy of science, almost all types of knowledge experience what is called a shifting of paradigm. Islamic studies is not exception, so that changes, re-formulations, and improvement of its epistemological design and construction are very possible. Thus, Islamic studies are not static, but dynamic. It always faces current challenges of changing times and styles that are always experienced by Muslims and human being in general. This means that Islamic studies that used to apply purely normative and empirical approaches to phenomena of human religiosity should shift to phenomenological one. The approach is worth to broaden insights and open new horizons in search for the essence and the fundamental structure of human religiousity.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan transformasional merupakan gaya kepemimpinan melakukan perubahan untuk mencapai performa lebih baik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana kepemimpinan transformasional kepala PAUD meningkatkan mutu pendidik. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitiatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yakni pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala PAUD untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidik melalui empat aspek yakni: Idealized influence yang ditunjukkan melalui keteladanan, kewibawaan, menjunjung nilai-nilai kemanusiaan, semangat tinggi dan keteguhan dalam menjalankan komitmen, etos kerja serta sikap religius. Inspirational motivation melalui perilaku yang memotivasi pendidik untuk terus berupaya meningkatkan kinerja dengan standar yang menjadi tugas pokok pendidik. Intellectual stimulation dengan kegiatan pengembangan wawasan pendidik seperti pelatihan dan pendidik, seminar, worksop. Individualized consideration melalui pemberian perhatian secara personal kepada pendidik dengan cara perenungan, pertimbangan dengan proses berfikir serta indentifikasi kebutuhan para pendidik.

Abstract

Abstract: Implications of Academic Supervision of Head of Madrasah in Improving Professional Islamic Religious Education Teachers (Case Study at MAN 1 Polewali Mandar)This study aims to describe and analyze the implications of the academic supervision of the madrasah principal on improving the professionalism of PAI teachers at MAN 1 Polewali Mandar. The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study. The object of this research is the supervision program. In this study, data was obtained from the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa in the field of curriculum, and Islamic religious education teachers using data collection techniques, namely in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis efforts are carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and verifying data. The effort to check the validity of the data is done by using a triangulation technique. The results of the study found that: (1) Through the academic supervision program by the madrasah principal, it shows positive and significant things in improving teacher professionalism to assist teachers in developing their competence in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. (2) The existence of teacher work motivation by the madrasah principal becomes the teacher's strength to have a strong desire to carry out work with high enthusiasm, so the effort to improve teacher professional competence is to increase teacher work motivation so as to improve teacher professional competence. (3) Through an academic supervision program by the head of the madrasah, teachers are made more professional at teaching, so that students are enthusiastic about taking part in learning because of the teacher's ability to master learning materials and be able to liven up the learning atmosphere. Teachers who have professional competence will also have implications for student learning to achieve.Abstrak: Implikasi Supervisi Akademik Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Profesional Guru PAI (Studi Kasus di MAN 1 Polewali Mandar)Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implikasi supervisi akademik kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan profesional guru PAI di MAN 1 Polewali Mandar. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Adapun objek pada penelitian ini mengenai program supervisi. Dalam penelitian ini, data diperoleh dari kepala madrasah, wakil kepala madrasah bidang kurikulum, dan guru pendidikan agama Islam dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Upaya analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan memverifikasi data. Adapun upaya untuk mengecek keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa: (1) Melalui program supervisi akademik oleh kepala madrasah menunjukkan hal positif dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan profesional guru untuk membantu guru dalam mengembangkan kompetensinya dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran; (2) Adanya motivasi dari kepala madrasah menjadi kekuatan guru untuk memiliki keinginan yang kuat dalam melaksanakan pekerjaan dengan semangat yang tinggi, maka upaya meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru adalah meningkatkan motivasi kerja guru sehingga mampu meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru. (3) Melalui program supervisi akademik oleh kepala madrasah, guru lebih profesional dalam mengajar sehingga peserta didik antusias untuk mengikuti pembelajaran karena kemampuan guru dalam menguasai materi pembelajaran dan mampu menghidupkan suasana belajar guru yang memiliki kompetensi profesional.

Abstract

Students’ well-being is a fundamental goal in education. The school has a strategic role in developing students’ well-being. This study elaborates on teachers’ classroom activities to develop students’ well-being. The research employed a mixed-method sequential explanatory approach. There were 1,100 students from 11 junior high schools in East Java Province, Indonesia, provided quantitative data. Four teachers provided qualitative data. Descriptive and regression analysis techniques were used for analyzing quantitative data, while thematic analysis was used for analyzing qualitative data. The results show that the hypothesis is accepted. It means that classroom climate affects students’ well-being. The findings also showed four teacher strategies for developing students’ well-being, namely: creating harmonious relationships with students, developing student potential, helping students with difficulties, and creating rules to make students comfortable being in school. The ability of teachers to manage learning in the classroom affects the high level of students’ well-being. The results have implications for the development of students’ well-being through positive teachers teaching.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and understand the level of financial literacy of Madrasah Principals in preparing the Madrasah Revenue and Expenditure Budget Plan (RAPBM) in Raudlatul Athfal (RA) Pasuruan Regency, East Java. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether there is an influence on the financial literacy of Madrasah Principals in preparing the Madrasah Revenue and Expenditure Budget Plan (RAPBM). This research uses a quantitative approach. The data source comes from Madrasah Principals. With data collection techniques through questionnaires and documentation. Then tested with simple linear regression analysis. The results found the regression coefficient value of 0.18 (positive), the correlation value was 0.029, the R square value was 0.116 (11.6%), and the significance value was 0.029 0.05, meaning that there was an effect of the financial literacy level of the Madrasah Principals in develop a Madrasah Revenue and Expenditure Budget Plan (RAPBM) in Raudlatul Athfal (RA) of East Java Pasuruan Regency. Thus, the better financial literacy, the better the preparation of the RAPBM.

Abstract

The demands of life require a balance between faith and piety, reflected in noble morals. Therefore, students need to be prepared and guided to have good morals. Moral education is essential; MA Islamic Center Bin Baz (ICBB) and MA Jamillarohman apply this concept. Research was conducted to evaluate the education system and the implementation of morals in the two schools. This research method uses a qualitative approach and a multi-case study type. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman's interactive approach and cross-case data analysis. The results of the research show similarities in both schools, such as the goal of forming moral character, the implementation of the education system at the beginning of the school year through meetings with the teacher council, and positive implications for students such as honesty, trustworthiness, devotion to worship, a tendency to help in benevolence, obedience to others. Old, and generous. The difference between the two lies in the karakul Karima pattern at ICBB, which involves Islamic boarding schools, MA Jamillurohman's emphasis on the MAPK curriculum, and MA ICBB's focus on continuing studies in the Middle East and preparing its graduates for work. In contrast, MA Jamillarohman focuses on continuous learning with merit scholarships, memorizing the Koran, and improving studies.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation and impact of the Continuous Professional Development (PKB) program at Brawijaya Smart School (BSS) in Malang, Indonesia. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research evaluates the program's effects on teacher competence in pedagogical, professional, social, and personal domains. Data collection methods included observations, interviews, and document analysis. Findings suggest that structured development activities significantly enhance teacher competencies. Recommendations include aligning professional development initiatives with teacher needs for continuous improvement.
