Abstract

The implementation of this Community Service activity is motivated by the problems experienced by partners at SMP Kristen Payeti. The teachers in that school have not been able to take advantage of online learning applications such as Google Classroom and Google Meet. Therefore, to overcome the partner's problems, training was carried out by the PkM Team of Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Kristen Wira Wacana Sumba, which aims to educate the teachers so that they can increase their knowledge and skills related to the use of the two applications. The training activities were carried out using lectures, demonstrations, and simulations using Google Classroom and Google Meet. While the stages of implementation include the preparation of training modules, preparation of training rooms, and implementation of training. The results of this service activity indicate that there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of teachers as trainees in using the two applications. Thus it can be concluded that the purpose of this service activity has been achieved. The follow-up carried out was to monitor the use of these two applications by teachers in the implementation of online learning.

Abstract

Universitas Kristen Wira Wacana Sumba is one of the universities that organizes online learning. This happened as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This situation requires all lecturers to be able to conduct online learning by utilizing the available facilities, namely Google Classroom and Google Meet, both permanent and adjunct lecturers. Permanent lecturers have used the application since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, while adjunct lecturers who held lessons this semester have never used the Google Classroom and Google Meet applications. If this is allowed, then learning will not be held properly. Therefore, this training is carried out in several stages, namely analyzing the needs of non-permanent lecturers, implementing activities, and following up. This training makes the online learning by adjunct lecturers can be carried out properly. Based on the results of the follow-up, the participants proposed further training on the use of Google Classroom, especially in making assignment assessment rubrics and quizzes.

Abstract

PkM activities carried out in the form of KKN aim to provide training on how to use social media in offering products to the gedek craftsmen in Kondamara Village, East Sumba Regency. This activity also aims to increase the knowledge and skills of gedek craftsmen in utilizing social media to make online sales. This PkM activity was carried out in July 2022 and took place at the home of one of the craftsmen in the village. Some of the methods used in this PkM activity are 1) Observation and interview methods to see the potential of the village and the constraints faced by the gedek craftsmen; 2) The lecture method to explain the meaning of social media and the benefits of social media for online marketing activities; 3) The demonstration method is used when accompanying craftsmen in creating social media accounts; 4) Discussion method to answer questions raised by the craftsmen in the training. The result of this activity is that the training activities can be carried out properly and the gedek craftsmen actively participate in these activities. The results of this activity indicate that there has been an increase in people's knowledge and skills in utilizing social media. This can be seen from the craftsman's ability to use social media to offer gedek products through social media.

Abstract

This PkM activity aims to disseminate the results of research that has been carried out by Unkriswina Sumba together with Balitbangda of East Sumba Regency regarding appropriate learning models to improve literacy and numeracy skills of elementary school students in East Sumba Regency. This outreach activity was carried out using lecture and discussion methods. The results of this PkM activity are that research results can be properly disseminated in the form of socialization of learning models, lesson plans, learning modules, and LKPD which are the outputs of Unkriswina Sumba research and Balitbangda East Sumba Regency. Through this PkM activity, it has increased the knowledge of the community in Umalulu District regarding their respective roles in improving the literacy and numeracy skills of elementary school students in the sub-district.

Abstract

Implementing the Flip Builder training at SMA Matawai La Pau aims to introduce technological innovation to teachers to enhance the quality of education. This activity involves preparing training materials, distribution of invitations, and venue preparation. Throughout the training, teachers are guided to understand and apply the steps of using Flip Builder, including creating flip book products. The participants' enthusiasm is evident from their dedication during the product creation simulation and active engagement in the question-and-answer and discussion sessions. The training results indicate that teachers can overcome technical challenges effectively and are motivated to continue innovating in their teaching practices. The product creation simulation using Flip Builder provides practical insights, and teachers appear confident in utilizing the application to create engaging learning materials. Evaluation and feedback from participants serve as a foundation for improving the quality of future training sessions. As a follow-up, continuous support is essential, whether through mentoring sessions or monitoring the use of Flip Builder. Collaboration among teachers should be enhanced through forums or regular meetings. The development of additional materials and advanced training can further support teachers in maximizing the potential of Flip Builder. Overall, this training represents a positive step in promoting technology-based education at SMA Matawai La Pau.
