Abstract

The purposes of this study are to figure out the implementation of extension and farmers’ perception toward the importance of the role of extension in rubber plantation in Kuantan Hulu Sub-district Kuantan Singingi Regency. The survey method was used in the research, while Random Sampling was also used as the sampling technique. The number of respondents were 49 samples. In terms of analyzing the data, Scale of Liker's Summated Rating (LSR) was used. The Result showed that, the plantation extension activities in Kuantan Hulu Sub-district have been going quite well as it can be observed upon the completeness of the extension programs and the elements of extension. The role of extension in plantation is important in the rubber farming activities with independent scheme that is observed from the education sub-variable, dissemination, facilitation, consultation, supervision, and monitoring  and evaluation. Abstract

This study aims to; (1) to analyze the level of participation of members of the Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD) Kusuma Bakti; (2) Knowing the obstacles encountered in increasing the participation of members of the board. Research conducted at Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD) Kusuma Bakti the Village Sialang Kubang Subdistrict Perhentian Raja Kampar Regency. The study conducted by using method of survey, the method of sampling was done by Simple Random Sampling, and the samples taken 33 people of the total population. The collecting data of this research was using primay data and secondary data. To analyzed the degree and the problem at participation of this research was using descriptive method. To obtain the degree of participation of members in contributing or mobilize its resources, member participation in decision making, and participation of members in enjoying benefits. Data were analyzed with the participation level Likert’s Summated Rating Scale. The study concluded that the overall level of participation of members of KUD Kusuma Bakti get a total score of 2.25 (1.67 to 2.33 are included in the category of medium participation rates). In another side, the programs KUD Kusuma Bakti had some problem that related by the degree of participant were passive in cooperative activities, attendance gave ideas on meeting, and participant in activity and evaluation of programs village cooperatives Kusuma Bakti.     Keywords : Participation, KUD Kusuma Bakti, Scale Likert’s

Abstract

This research aims(1) Identify the local knowledge was and is still used by the people of the coffee plant in the village of environmentally friendly Hutagurgur in dolok sanggul humbang hasundutan District of North Sumatra. (2) Determine the application of local wisdom environmentally friendly coffee plantations in the village Hutagurgur in dolok sanggul humbang hasundutan District of North Sumatra. (3) To know the strategies used by the people in the cultivation of coffee in the village Hutagurgur in dolok sanggul humbang hasundutan District of North Sumatra. This research uses a method snowball sampling technique or performed in sequence by asking for information on people who have been interviewed or contacted previously, and so on. The result showed that(1) Local wisdom undertaken coffee farmers in the village hutagurgur totaling 27 local wisdom that still exist and are not maintained. 16 local wisdom that still exist today, and 11 other local wisdom is not maintained. (2) Based on the results of the Cartesian diagram there are four quadrant explaining the importance and the power level of local knowledge. In Quadrant I stated that the level of force to demonstrate the value above the average and does not have the value of the interests of local wisdom in the village hutagurgur. In Quadrant II states that the level of interest and power on average, this shows that the farmers in the village still retains activity hutagurgur local wisdom. In Quadrant III declared that force above the average of the local knowledge and interests below the average. In Quadrant IV states that the level of interest and the strength is below average. It explains that the farmers in the village hutagurgur do not believe in things mystical. (3) Internal and External Motivation of farmers to local wisdom categorized as "good enough" with a score of 3,02 and a score of 2.98 Internal motivation for External motivation. This shows that the motivation of Internal and External gave a good response from farmers on the indicators used. Key Word: local wisdom, coffea farmers, and environment

Abstract

The aims to of cooperative to promote the welfare of members in particular and society in general. cooperative must have the ability to realize the business services that can enhance the added value and benefits to members and still consider to acquire the remaining good results. financial statements can be used as one of the parameters to measure the financial performance of cooperatives. Profit growth is one of the parameters used to measure the financial performance of cooperatives. The performance used in the calculation of financial performance over 5 years ago, by using the concept of calculating Economic Value Add (EVA). EVA calculation produces the positive EVA > 0 indicates the performance Kopsa UM is quite good because the rate of return that exceeds the average cost of capital, and is able to create value to investors. Abstract

The land conflict is the problem that has been there since the colonial period and the problem solving about it seems very still slowly. The late of problem solving occurs  in Senama Nenek village Sub-district of Tapung Hulu, Kampar District that consist of PT Perkebunan Nusantara V Sei Kencana group and the rural community of Senama Nenek and then in this conflict has been composed some strategies which will be used to achieve main goal. The strategy that will be analyzed by using QM For Windows to find which one the strategy that very suitable  for both of group. The result of QM For Windows shows the maximin score and minimax are Rp.21. 000.000.000,-. Based on  the result, the writer concluded that using Mediator Swasta Service was the best strategy. Abstract

This research aims:1) to identify social capital rice farmersgroup in Rimba Melintang subdistric. 2) toidentify the empowerment level of rice farmersgroup in Rimba Melintang subdistric. 3) toidentify the correlation of social capital and the empowerment level of rice farmers group in Rimba Melintang subdistric. This research uses a survey method that consist of 63 farmers as respondents who were selected purposively. To identifythe social capital and empowerment  in this research using a descriptive qualitative method. To identify the correlation of social capital and empowerment in this research using graph percentage method. The result showed that: 1) implementation of social capital for beginner class farmers group was low due to not all of elements of social capital were executed. For advanced and intermediate classes of farmers group, the implementation of social capital was high due to the all elements of social capital have been executed. 2) The empowerment for beginner class farmers group was low, while the empowerment for advanced and intermediate classes of farmers group was high. 3) The percentage of social capital for beginner class was 39.47% followed by empowerment 41.67%. The percentage of social capital for advanced class was 81.58% followed by empowerment 83.33%, while the percentage of social capital for intermediate class was 86.84% followed by empowerment 100%.Keywords:Social capital, Empowerment, Correlation, Farmers group

Abstract

A competence of agricultural extension agents is the quality of each individual agents. The responsibility of each agricultural extension agents in Gunung Toar Subdistrict more than one vilage cause the load of tasks to complete will be heavier, this situation will affect quality and performance of the extension agent. The objectives of this research were: 1) find out  the implementation of extension, 2) analyze the competence level of extension agents and 3) to know the problems in improving the competence of extension agent. The research was conducted in Gunung Toar Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The respondents were the agricultural extension agents in UPTD Plantation Gunung Toar Subdistrict, they were selected by sensus and the amount of them are 5. Colection of the data was done by quisioner list and then analyzed using Likert's Summated Rating (LSR). The results showed that the level of competence of agricultural extension agent from UPTD Plantation Gunung Toar Subdistrict are classified as Competent that can be seen from the sub-variable administrative ability, program planning, program implementation, teaching ability, communication skills, understanding human behavior, the ability to maintain professionalism and evaluation. There are some problem in extension activity in order to improve the competence of agents, The problem are: formal education of agents  is still low, education and training received is still limited, working period of agent is still low, lack of media utilization as the tool of learning, the major lack of extension workforce, where ideally one village is suppose to have one agent. Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) to know the role of agricultural extension to the self-pattern rubber farming; (2) to know the empowerment rate of self-pattern rubber farmers; (3) to know how to achieve the extension goals seen from better farming, better business, and better living. This research was conducted in Logas Village and Muara Lembu Village Singingi District Kuantan Singingi Regency. The research method used survey method with 120 respondents, with details 60 farmers from Logas Village and 60 farmers from Muara Lembu Village. The results showed that the role of agricultural extension in Singingi District Kuantan Singingi Regency “not yet role” inself-pattern rubber farming activity with a score of 2,37 as seen from education, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation. The empowerment of self-pattern rubber farmersin Singingi District Kuantan Singingi Regency categorized “less powerful” with a score of 2,29 as seen from human resources, productive economy, and institutional, while the succes rate of extension goals seen from better farming, better business, and better living in Singingi District Kuantan Singingi Regency categorized “achieve enough” with a score of 2,96   Keywords: Extension Role, Empowerment, Extension Goals

Abstract

This research aims : analyze social capital of oil palm farmers, analyze the level of empowerment, analyze the relationship between social capital and the level of empowerment. This researsch uses a purposive sampling method with respondents consisting of 80 members of farming group. Data collection method in this research is primary and secondary data. To determine the social capital in this research using a quantitative method using a questionnaire in the form of likert scale. From the research data showed (1) social capital of oil palm farmers Sukamaju Village Tapung Hilir Subdistric Kampar Regency is high with score average is 3.51. (2) level of empowerment of oil palm farmers in Sukamaju Village Tapung Hilir Subdistric Kampar Regency in high with average score is 3.44. (3) the relationship of social capital and level of empowerment is significant weak until strong with rs = 0.683 and value of p ( p < 0,05 ). Means that the higher the level of empowerment that is the higher the social capital of oil palm farmers. Keywords: Social Capital, Empowerment, Farmers

Abstract

The research is aimed to determine are: 1) First knowledge of the farmers in  extension of kencana’s chili cultivation technique; 2) The level farmer’s knowledge before-after using visual and audio-visual media. This research was conducted inTelaga Samsam Sub-district Kandis district Siak Regency. This research is experiment trait by taking sample is census as many were 30 respondents. Analyze  data were using of this research are Skala Likerts Summated Rating Scale (LSRS ) and Paired Sample Test. The result showed that the first knowledge of the farmers in extension of kencana’s chili cultivation is “quite knowing “with the score 2,79. Based on data Paired Sample Test analysis that the use of visual media before  (mean=1,964 ) and visual media after (mean =2, 6553 by supported are t-hitung -3.268 and Sig 2 tailed .003<0,05 it means there are difference significant of level  farmer’s knowledge in extension of kencana’s chili cultivation technique before-after using visual media, not difference way with the audio-visual media, the data analyze showed that the use of audio-visual  before  (mean=1,9640 ) and audio-visual after (mean =2,7I82) by supported are t-hitung -8.662 and Sig 2 tailed .000<0,05 it means there are very difference significantly of level  farmer’s knowledge in extension of kencana’s chili cultivation technique before-after using audio-visual.
