Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common problem among students and may negatively affect academic achievement and task completion. Self-control is considered one of the psychological factors associated with this behavior. This study analyzed the relationship between self-control and academic procrastination among Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 9 Semarang. This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional correlational design involving 167 students selected through simple random sampling from a population of 319 students. Data were collected using self-control and academic procrastination questionnaires developed from established theoretical constructs and measured using a five-point Likert scale. The instruments demonstrated acceptable validity and reliability (Cronbach's alpha and construct validity: isi sesuai hasil pengujian instrumen). Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The findings revealed a significant relationship between self-control and academic procrastination (r = 0.332; p < 0.001). The results indicate that self-control is associated with students' tendency to procrastinate in completing academic tasks, although the strength of the relationship is relatively low. These findings suggest that strengthening students' self-control may support efforts to reduce academic procrastination through guidance and counseling programs in vocational schools.

To find out the well-being of students, the researcher used the psychological well-being scale instrument, or PWBS, which was developed by Ryff (1989) and has been re-translated by the author, distributed via an online system via Google form. The total number of items 84 are all valid items, the validity coefficient is from 0.314 to 0.779 and the reliability coefficient is 0.966. 13 (3.7%) students had a low psychological well-being category, 125 (35.3%) the lower medium category, 180 (50.8%) the upper medium category and 36 (10.2%) the high category. In addition, this study also aims to determine the effectiveness of the results of the development of Interactive PPT-based learning media on social anxiety material at MTs Ma'arif Jumo. This study uses an RnD approach (research and Development). The focus in this study is research on the development of interactive PPT-based learning media in overcoming the anxiety of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students when speaking in public. The development model is in the form of the ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test, the results were gnified (2-tailed) 0.000 0.05. Thus, there is a significant difference between the initial variable (ore-test) and the final variable (post-test). Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. On the basis of these calculations, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which reads "there is a significant influence of the development of interactive PPT-based learning media in overcoming the social anxiety of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students when speaking in public" is accepted as true at the level of significance. The above facts show the influence of the use of learning media in overcoming the social anxiety of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students. Based on the calculation of the Hypothesis Test, a signification result (2-tailed) of 0.000 0.05 was obtained. Thus, there is a significant difference between the initial variable (pre-test) and the final variable (post-test). In other words, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted on the basis of these calculations, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which reads "there is a significant influence on the development of Interactive PPT-based learning media in overcoming the anxiety problems of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students when speaking in public" is accepted.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common problem among students and may negatively affect their learning process and academic achievement. One of the psychological factors associated with this behavior is fear of failure, which reflects students' concerns about experiencing failure and receiving negative evaluations from others. This study aimed to examine the effect of fear of failure on academic procrastination among students at MTs Nurul Ulum Welahan. A quantitative approach was employed, and the data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The study involved 111 students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through the Fear of Failure Scale and the Academic Procrastination Scale, both of which met the validity and reliability requirements. The results showed that fear of failure had a positive and significant effect on academic procrastination (B = 0.604; p = 0.000). In addition, fear of failure explained 21.7% of the variance in academic procrastination, while the remaining 78.3% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. These findings indicate that reducing students' fear of failure is important to help minimize academic procrastination through appropriate school counseling services

Abstract

Social adjustment is an important ability that students need to establish harmonious relationships within the school and community environment. One factor that is assumed to influence social adjustment is emotional intelligence. This study aimed to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the social adjustment of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Rembang. The study employed a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression design. The population consisted of 224 students, while 139 students were selected as the sample using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires measuring emotional intelligence and social adjustment. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS version 22 through normality testing, linearity testing, and simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the data were normally distributed with a significance value of 0.074 (> 0.05), and the relationship between variables was linear with a deviation from linearity significance value of 0.700 (> 0.05). Regression analysis revealed an F value of 28.456 with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05), while the hypothesis test showed a t value of 5.754 with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). The findings indicated that emotional intelligence had a positive and significant effect on students’ social adjustment. The higher the students’ emotional intelligence, the better their social adjustment ability. These findings highlight the importance of developing emotional intelligence to improve students’ social adjustment in the school environment.

Abstract

Current counseling services, such as those available through sikons.upgris.ac.id, lack full accessibility for students with disabilities, particularly those who are blind and visually impaired. Studies reveal significant accessibility barriers across educational websites, impeding equal access for users with disabilities. This study addresses these gaps by developing an accessible counseling platform aligned with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure inclusive access for all students. Using the ADDIE model's structured stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, this study aims to create a technically advanced, user-centered application that enhances usability and independence for students with disabilities. Results from user acceptance testing with 11 participants indicated a high satisfaction rate of 89,33%, demonstrating that the platform effectively meets users' needs, significantly improving accessibility and usability in educational counseling services. This outcome underscores the importance of integrating accessibility standards to foster inclusivity and equitable participation in digital educational resources.
