Abstract

Itik adalah unggas air yang masuk dalam kelas Aves dan menjadi salah satu unggas yang masuk dalam kategori unggas dwiguna yaitu hewan yang menghasilkan telur dan daging. Jenis itik yang banyak dibudidayakan di dusun Sempu, desa Ngadirojo, kecamatan Secang, kabupaten Magelang adalah jenis Itik Magelang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui korelasi fenotip dari sifat-sifat kuantitatif Itik Magelang. Penelitian ini dilakukan di dusun Sempu, Desa Ngadirojo, Kecamatan Secang, Kabupaten Magelang. Total sampel untuk pengamatan sifat kuantitatif adalah 100 ekor itik Magelang yang dipelihara secara semi intensif. Sample yang diambil adalah Itik Magelang yang sudah memasuki fase produksi. Hasil yang didapat dari data tersebut dianalis menggunakan IBM SPSS 23 dengan sistem partial correlations. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap beberapa peternak di dusun Sempu menunjukkan jika nilai korelasi antara BB dengan PB dan LD, PB dengan LD menunjukkan hasil yang sangat signifikan (p<0,01) sedangkan korelasi antara PB dengan ST menunjukkan signifikan (p<0,05). Pertambahan bobot badan Itik Magelang sangat berpengaruh juga terhadap panjang badan dan lingkar dada. Semakin bertambahnya bobot badan maka postur tubuh juga akan semakin besar pengaruhnya terhadap bertambahnya panjang badan dan lingkar dada.Kata kunci: fenotipik, itik magelang, korelasi, sifat kuantitatifQuantitative Phenotypic Correlation of Magelang Ducks in Magelang RegencyABSTRACTDucks are waterfowl that belong to the aves class and become one of the poultry which is included in the category of dual-purpose poultry, animals that produce eggs and meat. The type of ducks that are widely cultivated in Sempu Hamlet, Ngadirojo Village, Secang Subdistrict, Magelang Regency was the Magelang duck type. The purpose of this study was to know the phenotypic correlation of the quantitative traits of the duck. This research was conducted in Sempu Hamlet, Ngadirojo Village, Secang subdistrict, Magelang regency. The Total sample for quantitative trait observation was 100 of Magelang's semi-intensive preserved duck-tails. The Sample was the ducks in Magelang that have entered the production phase. The results obtained from the data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 23 with partial correlations. The results of research conducted against several breeders in Sempu Hamlet indicated that if the correlation between BB and PB and LD, PB with LD showed very significant results (p< 0.01) While the correlation between PB and ST showed significant (p< 0.05). The weight gain of Magelang's Duck was also highly affected body length and heart girth. The more body weight gain, the more posture will affect the body weight gain and heart girth.Keywords: correlation, magelang ducks, phenotypic, quantitative traits

Abstract

Magelang ducks are one of Magelang's native germplasm that has not received serious attention from society. Magelang duck products are expected to have portions in societies' protein needs and the economy's value to make additional income. This research aimed to analyze Magelang duck farmers' behavior on marketing Magelang duck products, either the eggs or meat from cast-off ducks, to induce local farmers' creative economy. This research was held in Ngadirojo village, Secang subdistrict, Magelang district, from January to February 2020. Samples used were local farmers selected on purpose or purposive random sampling. They were 30 persons of farmers. The farmers selected were based on the total livestock owned in Ngadirojo. The method used in this research were survey, interview, and direct observation. Variables observed were farmers' behavior on marketing the livestock product, behavior on marketing the processed product of Magelang ducks, behavior on using marketing channel, and price determinations using a questioner observed by Likert scale. The data collected were analyzed using the z-test. The result showed that the level of farmers behavior on marketing the Magelang duck products either on eggs and meat from cast-off ducks were 95%, behavior on marketing the harvests of Magelang duck as a processed product were 0%, and behavior of the selling method and the price determination of Magelang duck were 81.4%. It is expected that the result of this marketing behavior identification can induce the development of the Magelang duck creative economy and provide positive effects on farmer's additional income.Keywords: Behavior, Livestock product, Magelang duck.

Abstract

Peternakan itik memiliki prospek yang cukup baik dan memberikan harapan bagi terpenuhinya kebutuhan protein masyarakat sebagai bahan konsumsi. Itik Magelang merupakan salah satu unggas lokal produktif sebagai penghasil daging dan telur. Itik Magelang yang merupakan plasma nutfah secara umum belum mendapat perhatian serius baik dari masyarakat maupun pemerintah. Hal ini terlihat dari sistem pemeliharaan yang masih tradisional dan hanya sebagai usaha sampingan. Jika permasalahan tersebut terjadi terus menerus, maka dikhawatirkan Itik Magelang yang merupakan sumber plasma nutfah akan punah.  Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menggambarkan perilaku peternak dalam pemeliharaan itik Magelang di sentra peternakan itik Desa Ngadirojo, Kecamatan Secang, Kabupaten Magelang guna menghasilkan ternak yang aman dan sehat dan produktif. Sampel yang digunakan merupakan peternak lokal yang diambil secara sengaja atau purposive random sampling sebanyak 30 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah survei, wawancara dan pengamatan di lapangan. Penelitian diuji menggunakan uji-z. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan menunjukkan tingkat perilaku peternak dalam sistem pemeliharaan ternak sebanyak 23%, tingkat perilaku dalam pembuatan dan pembangunan kandang sebanyak 11%, tingkat perilaku dalam penggunaan alas kandang sebanyak 43%, tingkat perilaku dalam pemberian pakan sebanyak 47%, tingkat perilaku dalam penambahan konsentrat pada pakan sebanyak 20%, tingkat perilaku dalam pemberian vaksin sebanyak 17%, tingkat jumlah ternak yang terserang penyakit sebanyak 94%. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar peternak memiliki perilaku rendah dalam pemeliharaan itik Magelang.

Abstract

This research is an innovation carried out to meet the needs of animal feed. The way is to make feed supplements in the other various forms, like animal candy, molasses block, etc. The manufacture of feed supplements, which has been mostly done manually or by simple pressing machine. The making of animal candy was developed using an automatic animal candy press machine based on a pneumatic system with three double-acting cylinder actuators. This research to determine the schematic diagram of the pneumatic system simulation, design of the machine configuration, and determine the theoretical cycle time in the process of making animal candy using that machine. The method is creating a sequential diagram to determine one cycle time of making a candy and helping of software to make a schematic diagram simulation. The results are the movement system of the machine in one cycle is A- C- A+ B+ B- C+ according to the sequential diagram. The theoretical time required by the three actuators to complete one cycle of making an animal candy is 13.57 seconds (switch and losses are ignored).

Abstract

Duck thigh meat is part of the carcass which has the highest percentage, which is 26.8% carcass. Duck meat has a high fat and protein content, so the meat is easily damaged by microbes. Microorganism contamination in duck meat can reduce the quality of the meat, so it is necessary to handle it to maintain the quality of the meat. One of the natural preservatives that can be used to protect food from spoilage and physical damage is bilimbi fruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L.). This study aims to determine the best concentration of bilimbi fruit in the organoleptic physical properties of Magelang duck thigh meat. This study used Magelang ducks aged 2-3 months on the thigh and used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments (concentration of starfruit juice 0, 20, 40, 60% v/v) and 5 replications. Observational were analyzed by means of variance (ANOVA) at a 5% significance level, then if there were differences between treatments, further DMRT test was performed. The results showed that the immersion at a concentration of bilimbi fruit of as much as 60% significantly changed the color to ash (2.88) and reduced the scent to a slightly fishy (3.59), taste parameters changed to sour (3.16-3.59) with a concentration of bilimbi fruit 40-60% and had no significant effect on the texture of the Magelang duck thigh meat. This study concluded that soaking 60% starfruit juice for 30 minutes was able to reduce the fishy aroma, make the pale color, and the taste becomes sour, but does not affect the texture of Magelang duck thigh meat.

Abstract

This research aim to determine the effect of addition probiotic mixculture on the anaerobic fermentation of coffee peel on the content of dry matter, crude fiber, and crude protein. This research conducted by experimentally using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 repeats. The treatment was P1 (coffee peel + 3% molasses), P2 (coffee peel + 3% molasses + 0.5% Heryaki probiotic), P3 (coffee peel + 3% molasses + 1% Heryaki probiotic), P4 (coffee peel + 3% molasses + 1.5% Heryaki probiotic). The results showed that the addition of probiotic mix culture had no significant effect (P>0.05) on crude fiber and crude protein. The crude fiber (15.738%-17.714%) and crude protein (10.676%-12.019%). The conclusion of this study was that the addition of mix culture probiotics on anaerobic fermentation of coffee peel did not affect the crude fiber and crude protein content.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the levels and characteristics of inulin contained in various types of tubers in Magelang district. The samples used were honey sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.), purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.), white sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.), gadung (Dioscorea hispida), yam (Dioscorea alata L.), canna (Canna edulis Ker.), and arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea). The variables observed were yield, inulin content, inulin production, water content of the yield, yield solubility, and the degree of acidity (pH) of the yield. The research results obtained from 7 tubers, the highest yield was arrowroot tubers (0.155%). Honey sweet potato gave the lowest yield (0.035%), with the highest inulin content (6.472%), the highest water content (14.385%), and the highest solubility (0.685%). Arrowroot tubers gave the highest yield but the lowest inulin content. The highest inulin production is found in purple sweet potato. The degree of acidity (pH) of the tuber extract was in the range of 4.97-5.96. The conclusion of this study is that different types of tubers produce different content and production of inulin.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of the study was to determine the quality of fermented coffee husk using Heryaki probiotic based on lactic acid content, pH, dry matter, and Fleigh value. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Tidar University for 21 days. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments (P0: Coffee husk + 3% molasses), (P1: Coffee husk + 3% molasses + Heryaki probiotic 0.5%), (P2 Coffee husk + 3% molasses + Heryaki probiotic 1%), and (P3: Coffee husk + 3% molasses + Heryaki probiotic 1.5%) each treatment was repeated 5 times. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued using Duncan's multiple range test, and calculated using IBM SPSS 21. The results showed that the use of Heryaki probiotic had a significant effect (P<0.05) on lactic acid content, pH, dry matter, and Fleigh value. Treatment with the addition of probiotics as much as 1.5% (P3) was the best treatment againtst lactic acid content, pH and Fleigh value. Treatment without probiotics (P0) resulted in the best BK content. Keywords: coffee husk, fermentation, Heryaki probiotic Abstrak. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas fermentasi kulit kopi menggunakan probiotik Heryaki berdasarkan kandungan asam laktat, pH, bahan kering, dan nilai Fleigh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Peternakan dan Perikanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Tidar selama 21 hari. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan (P0: Kulit kopi + 3% molases), (P1: Kulit kopi + 3% molases + probiotik Heryaki 0,5%), (P2 Kulit kopi + 3% molases + probiotik Heryaki 1%), dan (P3: Kulit kopi + 3% molases + probiotik Heryaki 1,5%) setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan menggunakan uji jarak berganda Duncan, dihitung menggunakan alat bantu IBM SPSS 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan probiotik Heryaki memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) pada kandungan asam laktat, pH, bahan kering, dan nilai Fleigh. Perlakuan dengan penamabahan probiotik sebanyak 1,5% (P3) menghasilkan kandungan asam laktat, pH dan nilai Fleigh terbaik. Perlakuan tanpa penggunaan probiotik (P0) menghasilkan kandungan BK paling baik. Kata-kata kunci: kulit kopi, fermentasi, probiotik Heryaki

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the hematocrit, urea and blood glucose levels of thin-tailed sheep fed feed containing various levels of Carica Dieng seeds in complete feed. A total of 18 lams aged 3-4 months with an initial body weight of 10.68 ± 1.30 kg were fed treatment following a completely randomized design pattern: T1 = complete feed + 5% carica seeds, T2 = complete feed + 12,5% carica seeds, 5%, and T3 = complete feed + 20% carica seeds, with 6 repetitions. Blood samples for hematocrit levels were taken at weeks 2 and 9 of the treatment phase, while urea and blood glucose levels were taken at week 9, 0 hours before eating, 3 and 6 hours after being given morning food. Hematocrit levels were measured using a hematocrit reader, while blood glucose and urea levels used a scalvo analyzer. The results showed that various levels of carica seeds in complete feed had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the hematocrit, glucose and blood urea levels in sheep. The average hematocrit level at weeks 2 and 9 were 21.94 and 28.16%, the average glucose level at 0 hours was 71.22 mg/dL, and at 3 and 6 hours each was 79.00; 85.94 mg/dL. The average urea level at 0 hours, 3 and 6 hours was 30.21, 26.96 and 27.26 mg/dL. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that using Carica Dieng seeds in complete feed does not cause haematological disorders characterized by blood profile levels within normal limits..
