Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang diselenggrakan oleh tim dosen Program Studi Fisika, Universitas Jambi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan softskills mahasiswa semester satu yang ada di Program Studi Fisika untuk dapat bersaing di era revolusi industry 4.0 dan society 5.0. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu seluruh mahasiswa semester satu angkatan 2022 di Program Studi Fisika yang berjumlah 29 orang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk webinar yang berlangsung pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2022. Metode kegiatan berupa penyampaian materi oleh tim dosen Program Studi Fisika dan pendampingan dalam bentuk diskusi kelompok di kelas, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang jenis-jenis softskills yang harus dikuasai untuk hidup di era revolusi industry 4.0 dan society 5.0 dan dapat mempraktikkan softskills dalam bentuk diskusi kelompok di kelas. Kemudian berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dalam bentuk kuisioner menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 39,6% mahasiswa mempunyai softskills dengan kategori sangat baik, 40,9% mahasiswa mempunyai softskills dengan kategori baik, 17,5% mahasiswa mempunyai softskills dengan kategori cukup, dan 1,9 mahasiswa mempunyai softskills dengan kategori kurang.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan ekstraksi hidroksiapatit (HAp) dari tulang ikan tenggiri (Scomberomorus commersoni) menggunakan metode heat treatment. Penelitian bertujuan melihat pengaruh suhu yang  diberikan kepada sampel terhadap ukuran kristal dan derajat kristalinitas. Heat treatment dilakukan pada suhu 400OC, 600OC dan 800OC masing-masing selama 3 jam terhadap sampel yang telah di preparasi. Hasil analisis XRD menunjukkan adanya puncak  yang terbentuk pada sudut 2θ 25,950; 31,880; 39,620; 44,410; 46,700; 49,400 untuk suhu 400OC, 31,780; 32,800; 34,610 pada suhu 600OC dan 31,760; 32,210; 32,940; 34,070 pada suhu 800OC yang disesuaikan dengan referensi JCPDS 090432. Pada suhu 400OC, 600OC dan 800OC diperoleh ukuran kristal berturut-turut 12,05 nm, 14,18 nm dan  42,55 nm dan  derajat kristalinitas bernilai 41,91%, 76,38% dan 87,29%. Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan bahwa, semakin tinggi suhu maka lembah yang terbentuk semakin tajam dan adanya gugus fungsi OH-, dan  yang merupakan karakteristik dari gugus fungsi HAp, selain itu muncul pula gugus H2O. Karakterisasi SEM menunjukkan morfologi berbentuk bulk.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the morphology and composition of loose powder. This research used 3 types of MS Glow brand loose powder, namely natural, ivory and oily. Morphological characterization was carried out using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), while composition was carried out using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). The morphology of the MS Glow brand loose powder of the ivory, Natural and Oily types is round in shape with the average particle size of each sample A, B and C, namely 62 nm, 48 nm and 47 nm so that it can be classified as nanoparticles. XRF test results show that all samples contain the elements Mg, Al, Si, K, Ti, Fe. All of these elements are contained in the composition of MS Glow brand loose powder. The XRF test also showed that all samples did not contain dangerous elements such as Lead (Pb), mercury (Hg) and Cadmium (Cd) and met BPOM standards.

Abstract

The production of "kerupuk bakar" (grilled crackers) in Jelmu Subdistrict, Pelayangan District, Jambi City, faces drying challenges due to dependence on sunlight, particularly during the rainy season. This community service activity aims to introduce automatic drying technology to reduce weather dependency. The technology features a heating system with adjustable temperature and time settings, providing an efficient, fast, and consistent drying process. Methods include training on equipment usage and mentoring for local "kerupuk bakar" entrepreneurs. Results show that the implementation of automatic drying technology improves productivity, quality stability, and local entrepreneurs' income. This activity is expected to be a long-term solution to support economic growth in the region’s home industries.

Abstract

Defects in bone tissue represent a significant health concern and continue to pose challenges in clinical surgery. The fabrication of scaffolds from hydroxyapatite (HAp) can support bone regeneration. However, producing HAp scaffolds with ideal pore structures for effective bone tissue engineering remains difficult. In recent decades, many studies have attempted to enhance HAp scaffolds by incorporating polymeric materials to address their limitations. In this study, corn starch was used as a pore-forming agent, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) served as a binder and pore size regulator. The scaffolds were fabricated using the freeze-drying method, which offers the advantage of forming porous structures while maintaining scaffold integrity. This study investigated the effects of varying PVA additions which 3 wt%, 7 wt%, and 10 wt%. XRD analysis showed that the diffraction peaks of all samples corresponded to the HAp phase, displayed β-TCP peaks, and a crystal size with values ranging from 0.96 nm to 11.77 nm.  SEM analysis showed that the HAp-7 scaffold has the largest pore size distribution range of about 1.19 µm to 11.77 µm.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tetang green synthesis nanopartikel berbasis pasir besi Sungai Batanghari dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun pandan (Pandanus Amaryllifolius). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari variasi konsentrsi ekstrak daun pandan terhadap nanopartikel Fe3O4. Uji karakterisasi yang lakukan adalah uji XRD dan uji UV-Vis. Hasil analisis  uji XRD menunjukan bahwa pola difraksi 2θ yang terletak pada sampel berturut-turut Fe3O4 , NP1, NP2, NP3, yaitu pada  35,51˚; 35,41˚; 35,49˚; dan 35,53˚ dengan bidang kristal (311). Ukuran kristal berturut-turut 13,83 nm; 26,80 nm; 13,86 nm; dan 25,30 nm. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pada sampel NP1 dan sampel NP2 memiliki ukuran kristal lebih besar dibandingkan dengan sampel NP2. Nilai dari sampel NP2 hampir sama dengan ukuran kristal dari Fe3O4 tanpa tambahan ekstrak. Berdasarkan uji karakterisasi UV-Vis nanopartikel Fe3O4 menunjukan energy gap (Eg) yang elalui metode touc plot. Dengan nilai direct badgap berturut-turut 4,2 eV;  4,8 eV; dan 4,4 eV untuk sampel Fe3O4 , NP1, NP3 . Nilai indirect bandgap berturut-turut 3,9 eV; 4,1 eV; dan 3.7 eV untuk sampel Fe3O4 , NP1, NP3.

Abstract

Research on the performance of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) using single dye, mixture of anthocyanin and chlorophyll has been done. The purpose of this study was to identification influence the type of dye to the working efficiency of DSSC. This research included in experimental research. The working electrode of DSSC was made of dyes from dragon fruit, red spinach, pandanus leaves, cassava leaves and made of TiO2 semiconductor that superimposed with doctor blade method on FTO glass. While the counter electrode was made of 2B pencil carbon-soot a candle flame. Measurements absorbance of each type of dye using spectrophotometer UV-Vis to determine the absorbance values of each type of dye, the highest absorbance at dye mixture from dragon fruit- pandanus leaves. Measurement of currents and voltages using a multimeter with a light source of the sun to determine the efficiency of DSSC, the best efficiency values obtained in DSSC that used dye mixture from dragon fruit-pandanus leaves is equel to 0,002829091% and red spinach-cassava leaves is equel to 0,002222504%. The usage of dye mixture can improve efficiency of DSSC.

Abstract

This research aimed to produce magnetites from the residue of iron sand extract solution in HCl and the effect of silica encapsulation on the magnetite used XRD, SEM and FTIR characterization tools. The crystal size tended to increase in the magnetite encapsulated by silica (K (6%), L (9%), N (24%) and O (36%), because the perfect condensation and hydrolysis of the encapsulation material, while the M sample (12%) decreased the crystal size of 17.41 nm because the hydrolysis and condensation of the sample did not occur completely. The crystals in magnetite before and after being encapsulated with silica did not change. The transmittance of the typical functional groups of magnetite (Fe-O) and the typical functional groups of silica (Si-O-Si) tends to decrease after encapsulation with silica which caused the infrared absorbance of the molecules to increase high so that the presence of magnetite and silica is higher in the silica encapsulated sample The effect of variations in silica concentration on SEM characterization results is reduced agglomeration, particles that coincide and stick to the sample as the silica concentration increased with the smallest particle size found in the M sample (12%), namely the range of 10-50 nm. The residue of the iron sand extract solution with HCl can form nanomagnetites with an average particle size range below 100 nm.

Abstract

Abstrak Telah dilakukan penelitian Fe3O4/TiO2 dengan menggunakan variasi perbandingan massa. Nanopartikel Fe3O4 dengan menggunakan metode kopresipitasi dan disintesis dengan TiO2 menggunakan metode solid state reaction. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh perbandingan massa terhadap pengujian yang dilakukan. Variasi perbandingan massa yang digunakan yaitu 3:1, 2:1, 1:1, 1:2 dan 1:3. Karakterisasi yang dilakukan, adalah X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Spektrofotometer UV-Vis dan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Dari hasil XRD diperoleh bahwa penambahan TiO2 tidak menunjukkan perubahan yang signifikan terhadap ukuran kristal dan cenderung didominasi oleh fasa TiO2. Hasil Spektrofotometer UV-Vis nilai energi gap Fe3O4 murni, TiO2 murni dan perbandingan massa 1:1 berturut-turut sebesar 3,67 eV, 3,36 eV dan 3,50 eV. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Fe3O4 didoping dengan TiO2 akan diperoleh nilai energi gap Fe3O4/ TiO2 berada diantara energi gap Fe3O4 dengan TiO2. Hasil SEM diperoleh morfologi berbentuk bulat dengan persebaran partikel tidak merata sehingga terjadi aglomerasi. Selain itu, diperoleh ukuran partikel Fe3O4, TiO2 dan perbandingan massa 1:1 dengan ukuran rata-rata partikel berturut-turut sebesar 148,006 nm, 184,72 nm dan 181,79 nm.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an automated diagnostic system for classifying lung diseases in X-ray images based on feature extraction using the Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) with a Backpropagation Artificial Neural Network employing a Python GUI. In this study, 200 lung image data were utilized, divided into four classes with 50 data points each. The four categories of image classes are normal lungs, Pneumonia, Tuberculosis, and Covid-19. The training and testing data were split in a 92:8 ratio, resulting in 184 training data and 16 testing data. The parameters include four input layers, eight hidden layers, two output layers, alpha 0.8, 2000 iteration, and target error = 0.0001. Then, it continued with feature extraction using the GLCM to obtain texture characteristics in lung images. In the training stage, the best results were obtained in iteration 2000 with a Mean Squared Error of 0.005% and a calculated time of 167.319 seconds. At the testing stage, a reasonably high accuracy was obtained, 93.75%, with a calculated time of 0.014 seconds. This result indicates that the method can prove lung images.
