Abstract

A survey on smallholder dairy cow had conducted in Banyumas region from November 8th 1999 up to February 8th 2000. Forty six respondents were involved in this study (as samples). Cobb - Douglas analysis was applied in this survey. From the study can be concluded that a small holder owned 3.02 heads of dairy cow (2.2  ST), 1.44 heads of lactating cow with 9.77 L/day milk production on average. The benefit of the backyard farming was RP.70.603,225 per month on average. Feeding was the biggest influence on benefit because feed cost was 65.81 percent from the production cost. The milk production function , by the equation: Y = 0,8958 X1⁰·⁰³³² X2 0.049 X30.168 X40.608 The four variables can explain 92.4 percent (R²=0,924)on the milk  production variation .It can be suggested that to improve milk production on dairy cows can be done by intensifying labour, and improving the forage feeding. Abstract

Abstract. This study was designed to examine the effects of supplementation with husk extract of garlic (Allium sativum) in the feed of dairy goats containing sufficient amount of  organic minerals (Selenium, Chromium and Zinc) on the fermentation and microbes in the rumen. The materials used in this study were the rumen fluid of goat, goat ration composed of 60% grass, 35% tofu, and 5% concentrate (CP 11.90%, CF 28.57%, 60.94% TDN). The research method was experimental using a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments were tested, namely R0: control diet; R1: R0 + Cr + 1.5 ppm 40 ppm Zn lysinat + 0.3 ppm Se; R2: R1 + 15 ppm  of garlic husk extract (Allium sativum); R3: R1 + 30 ppm garlic husk extracts ; R4: R1 + 45 ppm  of garlic husk extrat; and R5: R1 + 60 ppm  garlic husk extract. The results showed that the treatment effect on a decrease in dry matter (DMD) and  organic matter digestibility (OMD), protozoa and total gas in total, however, there was an increase in total VFA concentrations. The treatment gave a linear response to the DMD, ie Y = 50.412 - 0.1651X  and OMD,  Y = -0.1768X + 50.319. However, in response VFA is cubic, with a line equation Y = 203.16 - 3.2646X + 0.2447X2- 0.0033X3. It culd be concluded that  supplementation of garlic husk extract and organic minerals can improve rumen fermentation with the best level at 25 ppm.Key words:  Garlic husk extract, micro minerals, rumen fermentation, dairy goat Abstrak.  Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mengkaji pengaruh suplementasi ekstrak kulit bawang putih (Allium sativum) dalam pakan kambing perah yang tercukupi mineral organik (Selenium, Chromium dan Seng) terhadap hasil fermentasi dan mikroba  pada rumen. Materi yang digunakan adalah  cairan rumen kambing, ransum kambing yang tersusun atas 60% rumput gajah, 35% ampas tahu dan 5% konsentrat (PK 11,90%, SK 28,57%, TDN 60,94%). Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL).  Perlakuan yang diujicobakan yaitu R0: pakan kontrol; R1: R0 + 1,5 ppm Cr + 40 ppm Zn lysinat + 0,3 ppm Se; R2: R1 + 15 ppm ekstrak kulit bawang putih (Allium sativum); R3: R1 + 30 ppm ekstrak kulit bawang putih ; R4: R1 + 45 ppm ekstrak kulit bawang putih ; dan R5: R1 + 60 ppm ekstrak kulit bawang putih . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap penurunan kecernaan bahan kering (KBK) dan kecernaan bahan organik (KBO), protozoa dan gas total, namun demikian terjadi peningkatan konsentrasi VFA total. Perlakuan memberikan respon linier  terhadap  Kecernaan Bahan Kering, yaitu Y = 50.412 - 0,1651X  dan  KBO, Y = -0,1768X + 50,319. Namun demikian pada  VFA   responnya adalah kubik, dengan persamaan garis Y = 203,16 – 3,2646X + 0,2447X2 – 0,0033X3.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi ekstrak kulit bawang putih dan mineral organik dapat memperbaiki fermentasi rumen dengan level terbaik 25 ppm. Kata kunci : ekstrak kulit bawang putih, mineral mikro, fermentasi rumen

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The study was aimed to assess protein-energy synchronization (PES) index of the tropical legumes as feed for ruminants. The research was carried out experimentally in two stages. The first stage was measured the nutritional value of legumes using the proximate method. All types of legumes had been dried (at 600C for 3 days) and grinded. The second stage is to calculate the PES index based on the average degradation of g protein and Kg of organic matter (OM) per hour for each legume. Protein degradation and OM were measured at 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours of observation. The results of the degradation observations at each hour were analyzed by linear regression to obtain the average degradation per hour, then the results were included in the calculation formula of the PES index. The PES index of each legume was discussed descriptively. The analysis showed that legume is a source of fiber with an average crude fiber of 18% and a high protein content of 23.23%. Based on the calculation of the PES index Leucaena leucocephala (0.34) and Calliandra calothyrsus (0.31) are at a low level, while Indigofera (0.48), Sesbania grandiflora (0.42), and Gliricidia sepium (0.47) are at the medium level. This difference was caused by differences in the rate of degradation of protein and organic matter of each legume, besides the presence of antinutrients greatly affected the resulting PES index. The research concluded that the tropical legumes in ruminant feed has the PES indexes at low to medium levels.

Abstract

Pengaruh pemberian mineral organik dan tepung kulit bawang putih yang mengandung polifenol salah satunya adalah allisin dapat menghambat kerja enzim HMG-CoA pada bakteri Archea rumen, sehingga terjadi H2 untuk pembentukan gas methan dialihkan kearah pembentukan propionat. Propionat sebagai prekusor pembentuk glukosa darah. Peningkatan propionat memberikan efek pada penurunan asetat. Asetat merupakan prekusor pembentuk kolesterol darah. Allisin juga dapat menghambat superoksidasi, sehingga tidak terjadi kerusakan membran sel dan dapat mempertahankan hemoglobin dalam darah. Keseimbangan terjadi terhadap kadar glukosa darah dan recovery tubuh ternak akan membaik. Pada ternak yang sedang bunting sering terjadi negative energy balance. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian mineral organik dan tepung kulit bawang putih pada pakan kambing perah terhadap glukosa darah dan recovery tubuh. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kambing Jawa Randu induk bunting laktasi kedua sebanyak 15 ekor. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu penambahan tepung kulit bawang putih 30 ppm; Cr organik 1,5 ppm; Se organik 0,3 ppm dan Zn lisinat 40 ppm. Perlakuan yang diujicobakan yaitu R0 terdiri atas Pakan kontrol (Hijauan dan Konsentrat perbandingan 70:30). R1 terdiri ataspakan R0 + Tepung kulit bawang putih (Allium sativum) 30 ppm. R2 terdiri atas pakan R1 + Mineral Organik ( Se 0,3 ppm, Cr 1,5 ppm, Zn 40 ppm). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan dilanjutkan uji LSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi tepung kulit bawang putih dan mineral organik pada pakan kambing perah tidak  berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar glukosa darah dan recovery tubuh.

Abstract

The protein-energy  synchronized  (PES)  index-based  rations  can  optimize microbial  protein  synthesis  (MPS)   and   affect   enzyme   activity   and  macronutrient digestibility of ration in rumen fluid. This study aimed to examine the in vitro effect of a ration based on PES index on macronutrient digestibility and enzyme activity in rumen fluid. The research was conducted experimentally, consisting of 4 treatment rations with different  PES  indexes  (R1:  0.55;  R2:  0.6;  R3:  0.65;  R4:  0.7).  Each  treatment  was repeated 5 times, so there were 24 experimental units. The material used was the rumen fluid of the Jawa Randu Goat, which was taken at the Sokaraja Slaughterhouse shortly after  the  goat  was  slaughtered.  Each  ration consisted  of  napier  grass,  river  tamarind, coconut  meal, soybean  dregs,  rice  bran,  cassava  waste,  and  mineral  mix.  The  results showed  that  the  PES  index  significantly  affected  (P<0,01)  the  digestibility  of  protein (A),  fiber  (B),  and  fat  (C),  as  well  as  the  activity  of  protease  (D)  and  cellulase  (E) enzymes.  Theorthogonal  polynomial  test  showed  that  the  PES  index  has  a  quadratic effect on all test parameters with the following equation: A (Y= -1229.5X2 + 1540.6X -457.57; R2= 0.75), B (Y = -800.95X2+ 955.86X -264.51; R² = 0.75), C (Y = 868.92X2-1038.2X + 325.1; R2= 0.81), D (Y = -41.4X2+ 51.697X -14.982; R² = 0.77), and E (Y = -4.8538X2+  5.927X -1.6241;  R²  =  0.84).  The  protein-energy  synchronized  index-based rations increased the in vitro of macronutrient digestibility (protein, fiber, and fat) and enzyme activity on rumen fluid at a medium index level (0.6-0.63).

Abstract

Background. The study was entitled "Percentage of Damage and Total Fresh Milk Bacteria in the Andini Lestari Dairy Farmer Group and Tirta Sari Aji Banyumas Regency". The purpose of this research was to determine percentage of damage and total bacteria in fress milk in the Andini Lestari dairy cattle group of Cilongok District and the Tirta Sari Aji dairy cattle in Karanglewas District. The research was conducted on 2 August 2019 until 28 September 2019. Materials and Methods. The material used is dairy farmers and milk. Dairy milk samples were obtained from 15 cattle from the Andini Lestari breeder group in Cilongok District and 15 cattle from Tirta Sari Aji, Karanglewas District, Banyumas Regency. The research method uses the survey method by conducting interviews and direct field observations. The response variables measured and observed in this study were milk damage and total milk bacteria. Milk samples obtained from the farms are then taken to the Dairy Production Laboratory for total microbial testing using the Total Plate Count Test and milk damage using the Alcohol Test. Results. The results showed that the alcohol test in the Andini Lestari group contained none positive samples or the presence of lumps in milk, while in the Tirta sari Aji group there were two positive samples of milk. Analysis of the sign test showed the level of milk damage in the two districts was not significantly different (P > 0.05). The results of total microbial studies in the two groups had an average of 16.22 x 104 cfu / ml and 14.44 x 104 cfu / ml. Analysis of the "t" test showed that the total microbes in the two groups were significantly different (P < 0.05). Conclusion. The quality of fresh milk in percentage of damage and total microbial in both Cilongok and Karanglewas Districts is considered good (according to SNI 2011).

Abstract

Background. This research was conducted to determine the feasibility of the formol titration method in measuring protein content in fresh milk. Material and method. The material used in this study was a sample of fresh cow's milk. Standard milk was prepared by adding hydrolyzed casein to obtain protein content of 10%, 8%, 6%, 4% and 2%. Each standard was triplicate tested to obtain LOD, LOQ, accuracy and precision calculations. The data obtained is then presented descriptively. Results. The results obtained show that the formol titration method achieves an LOD value of 2.12%, LOQ of 6.41%, an accuracy rate of 145.56% and a precision of 2;4;6;8;10% are 3.58;4.40;3.12;3.58;2.58%. The resulting linear curve has a regression equation Y=2.0228X – 2.785 with an R2 value of 0.957. Conclusion. It can be concluded that the measurement of milk protein using the formol titration method is quite good, but less accurate because it tends to be overquantify.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memberikan gambaran potensi percepatan kerusakan susu yang dipalsukan dengan air berdasarkan angka mikroba dan total keasaman. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan materi utama yaitu susu sapi yang diambil segera setelah pemerahan. Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial diterapkan dengan faktor A adalah 3 jenis susu (susu tidak dipalsukan (TD), susu dipalsukan dengan air sekitar kandang (DAK), dan susu dipalsukan dengan air rumah (DAR)). Faktor B adalah 6 selang waktu pengamatan (0, 4, 8, 12, 16, dan 20 jam). Penelitian dilakukan dengan 18 kombinasi perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 54 unit percobaan. Peubah Total Plate Count (TPC), pH, serta Soxhlet Henkel (SH) dianalisis variansi dan diuji lanjut dengan orthogonal polynomial, sedangkan indentifikasi kapang dibahas secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara jenis pemalsuan susu dan waktu pengamatan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap TPC, pH, dan SH. Analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa susu TD pada TPC memperoleh persamaan y= 70.246x+137.952 (R2=0.77); DAK yaitu y= 44.925x+203.500 (R2=0.94); dan DAR yaitu y= 67.007x+70.095 (R2=0.72). Susu TD pada pH memperoleh persamaan y=-0.0685x+6.7067 (R2=0.94); DAK yaitu y= -0.097x+6.7767 (R2=0.98); DAR yaitu y= -0.0929x+6.741 (R2=0.96). Susu TD pada 0SH menunjukkan persamaan y= 0.9029x+4.2381 (R2= 0.85); DAK yaitu y= 0.9464x+3.5857 (R2=0.87); DAR yaitu y= 0.9357x+3.4095 (R2=0.88). Identifikasi kapang menunjukkan angka positif pada pengamatan selama 8 dan 12 jam; dan tertinggi ditemukan pada susu DAK. Disimpulkan bahwa susu yang dipalsukan dengan DAK mengalami percepatan pertumbuhan mikroba dan akumulasi asam paling cepat dibandingkan dengan susu yang dipalsukan dengan DAR atau susu TD.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Gula semut adalah salah satu hasil olahan dengan bahan baku nira kelapa. Pengembangan gula semut lebih optimal dilakukan dengan sistem kemitraan karena pangsa pasar lebih banyak untuk skala ekspor. Di Kabupaten Kebumen terdapat dua perusahaan agribisnis gula semut, yaitu CV. Agroberdikari dan CV. Rukun Mulyo. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberdayaan pengrajin gula semut di Kabupaten Kebumen dan untuk merumuskan strategi pemberdayaan pengrajin gula semut di Kabupaten Kebumen. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan metode pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Analisis data menggunakan evaluasi CIPP dengan  interpretasi nilai menggunakan Rumus Persentase Skala Likert. Perumusan strategi pemberdayaan pengrajin gula semut menggunakan analisis SWOT QSPM.   Hasil: Hasil penelitian dengan pendekatan CIPP mendapatkan nilai untuk variabel context sebesar 73,61%, variabel input 68,22%, variabel process 76,61% dan variabel product 72,72%. Hasil evaluasi CIPP memperoleh nilai persentase 72,79%. Analisis SWOT QSPM dilakukan melalui 3 tahap yaitu tahap pemasukan, tahap pencocokan dan tahap keputusan. Kesimpulan: Evaluasi program pemberdayaan pengrajin gula semut di Kabupaten Kebumen menggunakan metode CIPP memperoleh hasil 72,79% dengan kategori efektif. Hasil analisis SWOT QSPM menunjukan prioritas utama strategi untuk pemberdayaan pengrajin gula semut di Kabupaten Kebumen adalah diversifikasi produk dengan penambahan bahan lain seperti rempah-rempah

Abstract

Ransum berbasis indeks sinkronisasi protein-energi (SPE) merupakan pengembangan nutrisi ruminansia yang ditujukan pada optimalisasi sintesis protein mikroba (SPM). Optimalisasi SPM diupayakan dengan sinkronisasi ketersediaan ammonia dan energi melalui indeks antara 0-1. Semakin simultanya kedua senyawa tersebut diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kecernaan, produksi volatile fatty acid (VFA), dan estimasi energi yang dihasilkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung estimasi produksi energi dan produk samping pada ransum berbasis indeks SPE melalui stoikiometri pembentukan VFA. Materi penelitian adalah cairan rumen kambing jawa randu yang di ambil sesaat setelah ternak dipotong. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (Indeks ransum 0,55; 0,6; 0,65; dan 0,7) dan 4 ulangan. Estimasi energi dan produk hasil samping fermentasi dihitung berdasarkan stoikiometri pembentukan VFA. Data dianalisis dengan analisis variansi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ransum berbasis indeks SPE tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap semua variablel (estimasi energi reaktan, total produksi energi, efisiensi produksi energi, methane, energi terbuang, hidrogen, karbon dioksida, dan air). Disisi lain, penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ransum berbasis indeks SPE menghasilkan estimasi efisiensi produksi energi yang rendah, karena estimasi produksi methane yang tinggi. Hal ini disebabkan karena tingginya proporsi serat ransum, pembentukan asetat, serta H2 dan CO2.
