Abstract

The development of information technology has produced a significant transformation in election administration mechanisms, including within the City of Palangka Raya. The digitalization of various services and information systems requires the General Elections Commission (KPU) to enhance transparency while simultaneously ensuring the security of voter data and election results. This study aims to examine the key challenges faced by the Palangka Raya KPU in balancing the need for information openness with data protection in the digital era. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method through literature review, direct observation, and structured interviews with KPU staff, election supervisors, and relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that digitalization improves the effectiveness of public information dissemination, including through the use of Sidalih and Sirekap, yet it also introduces vulnerabilities such as potential voter data breaches, cyberattacks, and the spread of disinformation through social media. Moreover, limitations in human resources with technological expertise serve as constraints in optimizing digital security. Conversely, the implementation of data security standards and improvements in voter digital literacy contribute to strengthening public trust in the election process. Thus, the Palangka Raya KPU needs to reinforce cybersecurity infrastructure, enhance internal technical capacity, and broaden public education programs to safeguard electoral integrity amid increasing transparency demands and digital risks. Collaboration among government, academia, and the community is a strategic element in maintaining the quality of democracy in the digital era.

Abstract

Introduction. Poisoning education is a process that nursing students must go through to become skilled and professional health workers. Abortion education can be conducted in the classroom or in the laboratory before undergoing clinical practice. Increasing self-confidence and skills (laboratory skills) can be done by providing education with appropriate methods, one of which is by using the self-instructional module (SIM) learning method. Emergency problems that are often encountered in the practice are airway problems. This condition requires nursing students to know and be able to provide actions in emergency conditions, namely maintaining the patient's breathing. Good self-confidence and skills will affect student performance later in facing a real emergency environment. Objective: Knowing SIM can increase self-confidence and laboratory skills related to the implementation of airway management in students with bleeding. Method: A pre-experimental study with a pretest posttest design approach, involving 28 respondents selected by consecutive sampling. The research instrument used an e-module airway management, a self-confidence questionnaire and observation sheets for the implementation of head tilt chin lift, jaw thrust, OPA installation, NPA, and suction. Results: Both self-confidence and laboratory skills showed an effect after the SIM intervention, with a p-value of 0.032 for self-confidence and 0.001 for laboratory skills (head tilt chin lift, jaw thrust, OPA insertion, NPA insertion, and suction). Conclusion: Based on the results, SIM can be a learning method for nursing students in learning airway management.

Abstract

Physical and cognitive development in children are strongly affected by adequate intake of zinc and vitamin D, as both nutrients play essential roles in bone formation, motor skills, immune function, and neurocognitive processes such as memory and learning. This review compiles evidence from studies published over the last decade showing that sufficient zinc intake is linked to improved linear growth, neuromuscular coordination, and overall motor performance. Meanwhile, vitamin D supports optimal absorption of calcium and phosphorus, promotes skeletal integrity, and may also contribute to cognitive development. Several studies emphasize the synergistic relationship between zinc and vitamin D, particularly through vitamin D receptor activity that involves zinc-finger domains, highlighting how deficiencies in both nutrients can increase the risk of impaired growth and cognitive delays in children. The findings underscore the importance of ensuring adequate nutritional intake through balanced diets, appropriate sunlight exposure, food fortification programs, and targeted supplementation for vulnerable populations. Addressing these nutritional needs is crucial for supporting optimal physical growth, brain development, and long-term health outcomes in children.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is one of the common complications during pregnancy and may cause serious adverse outcomes for both the mother and the fetus. Maternal age is recognized as a biological risk factor associated with the occurrence of UTI due to physiological and immunological changes during pregnancy. This study aimed to determine the association between maternal age and the incidence of urinary tract infection among pregnant women at RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Bandar Lampung in 2024. This study employed an observational analytic design with a case-control approach. The study sample consisted of 52 pregnant women, comprising 26 pregnant women with UTI as the case group and 26 pregnant women without UTI as the control group. Data were obtained from medical records and questionnaires. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Fisher Exact test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed a statistically significant association between maternal age and the incidence of UTI (p = 0.011; OR = 4.545; 95% CI: 1.370–15.077). In conclusion, there is a significant association between maternal age and the occurrence of urinary tract infection among pregnant women.
