Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to describe the writing mathematical communication skills of mild mental retardation students at Jember State SMALB-C solved the problem of addition and subtraction of algebra using algebra paper learning media. The subject used are two students of class x mild mental retardation. Data collection are observation, test and interviews. Observation was carried out during the delivery of the addition and subtraction material of algebra and introducing learning media and giving practice questions. The question of test is algebra addition and subtraction as much as three reserved description and interview to each subject. The result of this research shows that subject has fulfilled of the indicators of NCTM's mathematical communication skills except sub indicator c in question number 2, because the student did not explain the algebra paper learning media attached to the answer sheet and do not write conclusions. In interview, the subject stated that using algebra paper learning media can help and simplify the problem of completing the addition and subtraction of algebra. Abstract

Abstract. Generally, mathematics learning in the school still concentrates on the teachers, so that the students become passive in the learning process. Besides that, the students also never get a problem which is done as a group work. This matter cause the students become passive and only listen about the teacher’s explanation. That matter also makes the students become bored, get difficulties in studying Mathematics and give impact on the student’s bad result. Because of that, a resolution is needed to make a better learning process by applying the elaboration learning method on parallelogram and rhombus chapter to increase the study result of the students of VIIB class in SMP Negeri 1 Jatibantengacademic year 2012/2013. Elaboration method is started from presentation of epitome or a framework of that contains and the last is giving the conclusion which has a function to combine some concepts. Based on the result of the research, the application of elaboration learning method is effective to increase the study result of the students in parallelogram and rhombus chapter. We can see it from the student’s study result, that is from 55% to 87.5%. Key Words:Elaboration model, students’ activity, student learning achievement

Abstract

Abstract.Problem solving abilityshould be trainedandtaughtbyteacher to a vocational studentwhois preparedtoplungeintothe world of work. One effortto trainstudents'problem solving abilityisPolya’smodel. Polyamodelconsistsoffour stages:understanding theproblem, makingthe completion ofthe plan, implementthe plan, andre-examine. The purposeof this study is todetermine the problem solving ability of SMK IbuPakusari’s multimedia studentson the subject oflinear program. Data collection methodusedis the method oftesting, interviews, anddocumentation. From the researchit can be concludedthat the percentage of students in problem solving ability is high, medium, low on stage to understand the problem is75%, 12,5%, 12,5%. For the percentage of students on stage the completion ofthe plan is 40,63%, 18,75% ,40,62%. On stage implementthe plan is 46,87%, 18,75%, 34,38%. As for the re-examine is 37,5%, 34,38%, 28,12%. Abstract

Abstract.The goal of this research aims to know the process and the result of developmental Realistic Mathematics Educatioan Instruments by think pair share setting for square and rectangle topics at seven grade junior high school. Learning instrument development model refers to four D models. The products of this research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. The products refer to the characteristic of Realistic Mathematics Education and phases of Think Pair Share. Based on the validation process try out of learning instruments, it can be concluded that the learning instrumets have satisfied of the validity, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to: improve the independence of students in learning mathematics through Cooperative Learning methods and make a match strategy using authentic assessment. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) collaborative. The subjects are students in grade VIII SMPN I Gumukmas  School Year 2011/2012, amounting to 33 students as subjects who received the action. Implementation of the action is the subject of research. Subjects who supported the implementation of the math are teachers and principals. Data collection methods are used the method of observation, test methods, reviews and documentation methods. Data analysis technique is implemented in a descriptive qualitative. It is found on the average the students activity improve 66,7% at siklus I become 78,8% at siklus II, and the teacher activity improve 4,66%. The classical thoroughness improve 33,34%. So the conclusion of this research is the application of the make a match approach can improve theostudent achievmentoinklearningomathematics. Abstract

This study aims to describe a gender-based of students' misconceptions in contextual solving one variable quadratic equations. The research subjects were 6 students consisting of 3 students for each gender in Argopuro Panti High School. Data collection methods used are tests and interviews. Based on data analysis, the results of the study show that there are several misconceptions experienced by students namely misconception of notation, square root misconception, misconception of chancellor law and / or multiplication identity, misconception of side length comparisons, and constructive misconceptions. Based on the 3 subjects of each gender it can be concluded that male students experience more misconceptions at the stage of carrying out the plan, namely the chancellor's law misconceptions and or multiplication of identity rules, misconceptions in side length comparisons, constructional misconceptions, and notation misconceptions, while female students experience more misconceptions at the stage of revisiting namely square root misconceptions, misconceptions of side length comparisons, constructional misconceptions. Misconceptions that occur in both genders are misconceptions of notation, misconceptions in comparison of side lengths and misconceptions about building space. The teacher must be able to distinguish students who experience errors and misconceptions, because if the student is classified as a student of misconception, then the teacher must be able to deal with it immediately and precisely, because it can affect the mindset and learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Abstract.The purpose of this researchis to helpsstudent to build their understanding about story termand up their problem solving. This research type of Classroom Actions Research (CAR) using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition model with Polya’s method in fraction operations at VII-D grade of SMP Negeri 2 Arjasa. The research has two cycleswhich has devising a plan, action, observation, and reflection for each cycle.Data collected by documentation, observation, test and interview method. The data observation showed increasing about teacher’s activity and student’s activity from 1st cycle to 2nd cycle. The student’s learning in 1st cycle showed that 29 students completed and 11 students not completed. So, the classical completion results that class uncompleted with percentage 72,5%. But the student’s learning result of 2nd cycle showed a good progress andclass completed with percentage 82,5%. Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of two stay two stray method is to make the learning process more effective and improve the focus of students. In general, mathematics learning at schools is still a teacher centered, so the students become less active in teaching learning process. It causes the students become passive, bored, and the low score of the student learning achievement. Therefore, it needs an innovation of learning by applying a cooperative learning two stay two stray method combined interactive cd of cylinder and cone topic to improve the student learning achievement. The research subject is IX D students of SMP Negeri 6 Situbondo. The data collection method used in this research is interview, documentation, observation, and test. The research observed the activity of the teachers and the students. The result shows that the activity of the teachers and the students are significantly increasing in class IX D SMP Negeri 6 Situbondo the improvements of students’ activities are indicated by the average score of 77,26% for the first cycle, 85,73% for the second cycle of the action research. We can conclude that the two stay two stray method combined interactive cd, is efective to improve the student learning achievement in cylinder and cone topic. It is proved by the result of student learning achievement, which is from 48% to 80%. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on creativity and learning outcomes of mathematical induction. This type of research was quasi-experimental research. This research was conducted on class XI TR and XI AV SMKN 2 Jember. The instruments used were the RPP of the experimental class and the control class, student worksheets, and evaluation of learning outcomes. The data collection methods used in this study was observation and test. To determine the subject of the study, a random technique was used. Based on the result of data analysis, it could be concluded that the students in the experimental class met all indicators well. The students could use several ways to solve the problems. Furthermore, the students were able to find unique ideas to solve the problems. The students expanded, selected, analyzed and evaluated the basic ideas of solving the problems. The students used creative ideas on problem-solving innovations. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, creativity, learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to produce a product to attract students’ interest in learning mathematics tha tested the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of using e-Comic based technology as a learning supplement to the application of quadratic functions. The development of technology is very rapid resulted in many students’ more interested in in using gadgets such as computer, laptops, handphone, and tablets rather than reading the textbook activities. This research was processed through the stages of 4D that is define, design, development, and disseminate. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 7 Jember which involved 32 students’ of class 9B. The result of the research show that the development media is valid according to the material expert and the media expert with the percentage of the archieved value 95,3% from validator I, 89% from validator II, and validator III gives 96% value. Effective media with learning test reasult followed 32 students’ in this research show 81,25% complete. Quetionnaire showed a percentage of a 94% from student for practicality.
