Abstract

Abstract.A large classeswith anumber of studentsover 50studentsproved it is not effective inthe implementation oftask-based learning for Calculus II subject in Mathematics Education Department of FKIPJemberUniversity. On the other hand, thattheimplementationof lesson studystarted fromthejointplanning process(plan), implementinglearning(do)as well asevaluation andreflection ofthe results ofthe implementation(see), provides an opportunityto improvestudentlearning outcomes. Thus, the implementation oftask-based learningCalculusII subject throughlesson studyis expected toimprovestudentlearningoutcomes. The study was conductedon learningCalculusII even semester of2011 withthe number of participants of 56students. In this study, studentswere divided intosmall groupsconsisting of5-6 people. The Learning process is donein 4cycles with teacherr teamconsists of 3lecturers. Guidelines fortheearlylearninguseslearning materials developed by Suharto(2007). The resultsshowedthat:1.There is a significant increase inthequalityof learning materilas and varietyof learningscenarios(plan), 2.The role oflecturersis increasinglybetter to facilitate students, providingappropriateassistance, students are able tocomplete thetask ofproblemissuesthroughsmall group discussions, presentinginformationonthe cornerscan then improve the experience, and also to increase students' understandingof thematerial giveneach cycle(do), and 3. studentshave the ability todo self assessment, aware of their mistakes andtheir learning outcomesis improved (see). As acommitmentofprofessionalismlecturer, it is suggested thatlesson studycan be applied toall learning process. Key Words :Task Based, Studying in a Group, Quality and Students Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract This reseach was conducted to describe students mathematical literacy in solving mathematical questions on the subject of number patterns based on multiple intelligences. The instruments used were questionnaires, math tests, and interviews. The research subjects were six students consisting of two students with verbal linguistic intelligence, two students with mathematical logical intelligence and two students with naturalist intelligence. The results of this study are that students with verbal linguistic intelligence fulfill all indicators on the components of the literacy thinking process and can write answers in easily understood languages. Students with mathematical logical intelligence fulfill all indicators on the components of the literacy thinking process but there are stepping steps in writing answers. Whereas students with naturalist intelligence do not fulfill one of the indicators on the components of the first literacy process, namely students do not write mathematical situations using symbols. Students with verbal linguistic intelligence, students with mathematical logical intelligence and students with naturalist intelligence have different strategies in solving problems. Students with verbal linguistic intelligence tend to use detailed translation, students with mathematical logical intelligence are able to use mathematical operations well and students with naturalist intelligence tend to use images to solve problems. Keywords: Thinking in mathematical literacy, multiple intelligence, questionnaire

Abstract

Abstract. The learning strategy is one of cause influenced the student’s learning completion. It means that to reach high teaching quality, all studies, especially math, should be organized with the right organizing strategy, then explained to the students with the right strategy. One of the learning strategy which make the students learning desire grow by activating all student’s potential in visual, auditory, or kinesthetic were think talk write learning strategy with authentic assessment. The type of this research was classroom action research. The research aimed to find out the student’s activity, student’s learning completeness, and student’s respond to think talk write learning strategy. While the objects were students of X-1 Grade SMAN (Junior High School) 1 Tanggul Jember Residence with 40 students amount. The results of applied research after think talk write learning strategy with authentic assessment the average student in the first cycle with 82 reaching 92,5% completeness, where there are 37 students who completed and 3 students did not complete. Then proceed to the second round, second round results on the average value of 84,75 students to reach 100% completeness. Based on the success criteria for this study that at least 75% of the entire class of students there is scored 75-100 or completeness reach 75% -100%. Therefore, it is associated with learning the completeness criteria, the results of this study meets these criteria. It can be concluded that the application of think talk write learning strategy with authentic assessment can improve student learning outcomes in math study in SMAN (Junior High School) 1 Tanggul Jember.
