Abstract

Abstract

Stunting remains a pressing global health concern, as evidenced by the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. The Pasuruan Regency Government continues its efforts to reduce the stunting rate. Coastal areas are characterized by a relatively high incidence of stunting, which stands at 22.8%. The urgency of this research lies in the need for a change in family behavior toward stunting prevention through education optimalization in coastal areas. Stunting prevention education within the family can be summarized into the "Anti-Stunting Education Package", consisting of education on nutritious maternal food intake starting from 1000 days before childbirth, exclusive breastfeeding, adolescent health, and access to clean water. This research aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of anti-stunting education package in changing family behavior to prevent stunting in coastal areas. This was pre-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design approach. The research is conducted in coastal areas with a sample size of 30 stunting families selected through purposive sampling. The results of the research indicate that the Anti-Stunting Education Package is highly effective in improving knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral changes among mothers in supporting stunting prevention in coastal areas. This study falls under TKT 3, which demonstrates the analytical concept and experimental functions, providing stunting education through booklets with a focus on local culture to prevent stunting in coastal areas. The outcomes of this research serve as an innovation and technological development for maritime community well-being.

Abstract

In the issues present in the village of Wonojati, Gondangwetan District, Pasuruan, they are still related to suboptimal waste management and the low ecological awareness of the community. This situation encourages students from the Community Service Program of Jember University to implement an integrated community service program with the theme "Wonojati Village Towards Sustainable Independence." The methods used include surveys and village coordination, environmental literacy based on children's understanding to instill environmental awareness from an early age, the establishment of a village waste bank as a sorting center, training on Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation to process organic waste while also supplementing feed for catfish, as well as training in making ecoenzymes. The produced maggots can replace up to 50% of pellet feed in catfish farming, thus reducing production costs. Processed products in the form of catfish flakes and catfish roll cakes are then strengthened through branding and digitalization of MSMEs with the creation of logos and geotagging business locations. The results show an increase in ecological awareness, a reduction in waste volume, cost efficiency in animal feed, and an improvement in the competitiveness of MSME products. In conclusion, the integration of literacy, waste management, and the digitalization of MSMEs can strengthen the economic and ecological independence of communities towards sustainable villages

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is a chronic inflammatory condition characterized by painful ulcers on the oral mucosa. Emerging evidence indicates that psychological factors, such as stress, anxiety, and depression, may play a role in its development. This review aims to examine the influence of these mental health factors on the onset and progression of RAS based on recent scientific literature. Methods: he exact mechanisms through which psychological stressors contribute to RAS remain poorly understood. To address this, a systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines to consolidate current research findings. A thorough search was performed across PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar to identify original studies published within the past decade. The search terms used were: ("Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis" OR "RAS") AND ("Stress" OR "Anxiety" OR "Depression") AND ("Psychological Factors" OR "Mental Health"). Results: Findings from the reviewed literature indicate a strong correlation between stress and both the initiation and recurrence of RAS. This association appears to be largely driven by the activation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, resulting in increased cortisol levels and subsequent suppression of immune function. These physiological changes are believed to weaken mucosal defenses, thereby increasing vulnerability to ulcer formation. Conclusions: These insights underscore the importance of incorporating psychological interventions—particularly stress-reduction techniques—into the management of RAS to enhance patient well-being and reduce symptom burden.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is defined as a non-communicable disease related to the respiratory system, where airway spasm occurs which is interpreted through shortness of breath, decreased oxygen saturation, and increased sputum production. This sputum production is caused by exposure to harmful substances that can inhibit mucociliary clearance, goblet cell proliferation occurs which causes hyperplasia and hypertrophy resulting in the growth and enlargement of mucous glands which results in increased sputum production and causes ineffective airway clearance nursing problems. The purpose of this study was to describe nursing care for ineffective airway clearance (COPD) with effective cough training at RSUD dr. R. Soedarsono. Methods: This research used a case study design. The research participants were COPD patients with ineffective airway clearance nursing problems who were given interventions in the form of effective cough training in Interna Room 2 at RSUD dr. R. Soedarsono. Data collection was done through interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation. Results: Ineffective airway clearance is resolved as shown by the patient saying the cough has decreased and is not tight, able to remove phlegm, additional breath sounds decrease, sputum production decreases and breathing frequency is 20x/minute. Conclusion: Effective cough training is proven to be effective in improving airway clearance in COPD patients, so it can be one of the non-pharmacological interventions to overcome this problem.
