Abstract

Comprehensive  tree improvement  program for Acacia mangium has been started since 1992 by establishing  a  series  of  first generation  Seedling  Seed  Orchards  (SSO)  in  Indonesia.  Selection procedures in the first-generation of SSO have completely finished, and subsequently it was continued for second-generation improvement. This paper examines a trend of realized genetic gain as a response of selection practiced in the first-generation SSO. The observation was carried out in three sub-lines of the second-generation SSO (namely Sub-line B, C and D). Parameters recorded included tree height, diameter at breast height (dbh) and stem straightness that were recorded periodically up to 4 years growth. The realized genetic gain was calculated as a percentage of improved plus trees population in the first-generation of  SSO compared to those of  unimproved trees. The results showed that the improved population was consistently better that those of unimproved one until 4 years of age. There were variation in terms of realized genetic gain parameters recorded depending on the sub-lines and ages. The tree height varied from 1.1% to 5%, while dbh and stem straightness were in the ranges of 2.8% to 6.7% and from 1.8% to 8.4%, respectively. Across the three sub-lines, the tree height varied from 2.2% to 3.1%, while dbh and stem straightness were in the ranges of 4.3% to 5.2% and 4.3% to 6%, respectively.  In general, the trend of the realized genetic gains slightly decreased for dbh and tree height with the increasing of ages, while it slightly increased for stem straightness.

Abstract

Background: Exposure to lead (Pb) continuously for a long time will cause health effects such as hypertension, decreased the ability of the brain and can inhibit the formation of red blood, disorder if it is not resolved soon beable to cause disruption to the body’s various organ systems such as the nervous system, kidneys, gastrointestinal, reproductive system and hemoglobin levels. Methods: Cross sectional study on 32 subjects in the Metal Smelting Industry District Adiwerna Tegal regency. Pblevels in the blood as biomaker of exposure to lead (Pb) to the decrease in hemoglobin levels.Result: Subjects with levels of lead (Pb) on not normal level were 12 people with mean+ SD BLL 28.33+7.714;Subjects with hemoglobin levels below the normal were 15 people with the mean+SD 12.04+1,340. There is arelationship between BLL with the level or haemoglobin (r = -0,418 and p value = 0.017). Lead exposure was tobe risk factor for the low haemoglobin level with RP of 2.5.Conclution: Women of Childbearing Age had a Ratio Prevalence of 2.5 for the low level of haemoglobin. Keywords: Lead Exposure, hemoglobin levels, Women of Childbearing Age

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has become one of the most unexpected problems, and has had a significant impact on all sectors. Not only the health sector, but also education. The pandemic is forcing all parties to change the pattern and method of education, as well as forcing them to adapt quickly. Various learning process activities are carried out online, but various research results show the weaknesses of this method. Starting from the effectiveness of the learning process, dependence on communication devices (cell phones and laptops), to various legal problems faced by teachers, students, and parents of students. This service program aims to provide reinforcement in terms of protection for teachers and students during the pandemic by involving multi-sectors (Universities-Legal Aid Institutions-Teachers' Union). The partner in this activity is the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) in Mirit District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. The implementation method in this service uses several things, namely: (1) socialization, (2) education, (3) legal assistance, (4) partner networks. Through this service program, it is hoped that in addition to realizing collaboration between institutions: the Faculty of Law UNNES-LBH-PGRI, it is also hoped that this activity can provide encouragement for teachers in increasing the capacity of legal assistance.
