Abstract

Mother's Milk (ASI) is a liquid that provides the most important nutrition needed by babies, serving as natural nutrition because it contains the energy and substances necessary during the first six months of a baby's life. This study aims to determine the effect of Woolwich Massage on Milk Expenditure in Breastfeeding Mothers at the Moncongloe Health Center, Maros Regency. This research employs quantitative research methods within a pre-experimental research design, specifically a pre-test post-test design. The population in this study consisted of 74 individuals at the Moncongloe Health Center in Maros Regency, with a total sample size of 58 respondents. This sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The statistical test used the Wilcoxon test to determine the ratio of milk production before and after treatment. The results of this study showed that before the Woolwich massage, the majority of milk expenditure was in the 'Less ASI' category, and after the Woolwich massage, the majority of ASI expenditure was in the 'Enough ASI' category. Wilcoxon test results obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). The conclusion from this study is that Woolwich massage has an effect on breastfeeding mothers at the Moncongloe Health Center in Maros Regency. Therefore, through this research, it is hoped that the community, especially breastfeeding mothers, can apply Woolwich massage as a method to facilitate their breastfeeding

Abstract

Dysmenorrhoea is often experienced by young women, this can disturb feelings of comfort and interfere with daily activities, generally it is not dangerous but must be treated immediately. Endorphin Massage is a non-pharmacological therapy that can reduce the level of pain in young women who experience dysmenorrhoea. This endorphin massage can stimulate the body to release endorphin compounds which are natural pain relievers and can create a feeling of comfort through light touches on the surface of the skin. Based on field studies, it was found that Endorphin Massage had not been implemented in schools, especially at UPT.SMKN 6 Takalar. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of Young Women in dealing with Dysmenorrhea after being given Endorphin Massage Counseling and Training. The methods used in this activity are lectures, discussions and demonstrations of Endorphin Massage for young women. Before the intervention is carried out, first assess the participant's level of knowledge and skills by means of a pre-test and post-test. The results of this Community Service activity were that after conducting education and Endorphin Massage simulations for young women, the knowledge and skills of young women increased rapidly from 6% to 100%. It is hoped that in this activity young women can treat dysmenorrhea by using complementary therapy as an alternative treatment.

Abstract

Patients who are forced to return home often occur in hospitals, which of course will have an impact on patients and the quality of hospital services. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence the incidence of patients returning home at their own request. This research is a quantitative research using a correlational study design with a sampling technique using Purposive Sampling, the sample size is 66 respondents and the research instrument uses the Chi-Square test. The results of the study showed that patients had treatment days >1 week (57.6%), 66 respondents had family support (100%), patients had less loyalty (53.0%), patients were forced to go home (42.4%). The test results show that there is an influence on the length of treatment on patients returning home at their own request, family support, and patient loyalty with each p value = 0.0001. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that length of treatment, family support and patient loyalty influence patients going home at their own request.

Abstract

Stunting (short) according to WHO in 2020 is a growth disorder in children caused by chronic malnutrition or chronic infectious diseases as indicated by the z-score value of height for age. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in children under five at the Kassi-Kassi Makassar Health Center. This research is a quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach in the nursing program at the Indonesian Muslim University. The population of this study was 154 people and the sample was taken using the total sampling method. The tests in this study were chi square analysis with the level of food (ρ > 0.05). The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in children under five at the Kassi-Kassi Makassar Health Center, as shown by the results of statistical tests. There is a relationship between the history of low birth weight LBW babies and the incidence of stunting in children under five at the Kassi-Kassi Makassar Health Center. There is a relationship between the provision of complementary feeding to the incidence of stunting in children under five at the Kassi-Kassi Makassar Health Center as shown by the results of statistical tests.

Abstract

According to the 2018 World Health Organization (WHO), adolescents are defined as those aged 10-19 years. Adolescence in young women is marked by the onset of menstruation. However, many young women experience problems during menstruation, such as dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is abdominal pain caused by uterine contractions that occur before and during menstruation. There are two types of dysmenorrhea treatment, namely non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatment. One of the nonpharmacological treatments is cutaneous stimulus therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cutaneous stimulation therapy using olive oil on dysmenorrhea in nursing students at the Indonesian Muslim University. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest and post-test. Sampling using the purposive sampling technique included as many as 30 female students who met the inclusion criteria and experienced primary dysmenorrhea. This study used the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) pain scale. The results of this study found that before cutaneous stimulation therapy was administered, most female students experienced moderate pain levels (46.7%), and after the therapy was administered, most female students experienced mild pain levels (56.7%). The results of the statistical test using the paired T-test (p ≤ 0.05) with a p-value of 0.000 indicate that the difference is significant, so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of cutaneous stimulus therapy using olive oil on dysmenorrhea in nursing students at the Indonesian Muslim University. It is expected that female students can apply cutaneous stimuli every menstrual cycle so that the intensity of dysmenorrhea can be reduced.
