Abstract

This study aims to identify the type of coffee powder aroma from the coffee beans blending using backpropagation artificial neural network (ANN). Backpropagation is a controlled training implementing a weight adjustment pattern to achieve a minimum error value between the the predicted and the actual output. Within this study, the coffee aroma testing utilized electronic tasting sensor system consisted of 4 sensors namely TGS 2611, TGS 2620, TGS 2610 and TGS 2602. The coffee aroma monitoring and data collection in this system applied LabVIEW software as a virtual instrumentation. The testing result of this ANN was able to distinguish the coffee variety of Robusta, Arabica coffee powder and the one without any coffee aroma. The backpropagation architecture was formed by 3 layers consisting of 1 input layer with 4 input nerve cells, 1 hidden layer with 8 neural cells, and 2 output layers by applying the backpropagation training algorithm. The training data was taken from 70 data samples of each circumstance of coffee with 5 testing times. The results of the training and testing showed that the established backpropagation was capable to identify and differenciate the coffee powder in accordance with the given input with different average success rate;  91.96% for Robusta coffee, 100 % for Arabica coffee, and no 84.24% for without coffee aroma.

Abstract

The growth of cattle majorly affected by the type of fodder and its digestion system. To gain the healthy growth, cattle fed green grass and additional concentrate in form of mixed agricultural wastes such as rice straw, corn straw, etc and tofu residues in cattle fodder. Since cattle have no upper incisor, (insisivus), it use combination of its molar and its tongue to cut the grass or rice straw or corn straw, as the result more fodder like fresh grass, rice straws or corn scraws are wasted. If the wasted re-use by giving it back to cattle, it will not eat it, so it will cause inefficiency in feeding livestock. In order to solve that problem a chopping and mixing tool is needed, by using fuzzy method to control a dc motor constant speed to chopping grass, rice straws and corn straws, and then mixing with additional concentrate such as tofu wasted. Rice straws, corn straws and fresh grass are chopped in chopping section and mixed with tofu residues in the mixing section. When all the food material mixed and stired, the weight will be measures using a current sensor ACS712-20A. This sensor is used to measure the motor load. Furtheremore, if the more food materials place into this device, so, the faster the dc motor will rotate. When this device loaded 3000gr, the current measure is 4.53 ampere. The load position is not smooth will result the reading of the sensor always fluctuated. As the result, the fuzzy method applied will be optimal when the current is 4.22 ampere and the PWM fuzzy is higher than 252-mark is legible

Abstract

In fabrication of compos mixing machine based on microcontroller, an AC motor 1 phase used to rotate the container and it will help the farmer work in stirring and mixing compos material. In order to display the process, a LCD is use in this fabrication.The design of this machine is divided into two categories, hardware design and software design. The hardware consist of an AVRATmega 8535  microcontroller minimum system , a LCD, Keypad,  an AC Motor 1 phase, a Capacitor, and a relay.  In the order hand for software design, a Code vision-AVR program language as the program application. The data analysis techniques are conducted by testing the machine performs.  Not only by measuring operating voltages, but also testing the microcontroller with a program application.This machine is based on microcontroller AVRATmega8535 and using C language in programming. In order to display the mixing output, time setting is displayed on LCD. The optimum result started from the first 10 seconds ON condition and the second of 10 seconds ON condition should have a 30 seconds time off.

Abstract

Temperature set of the coffee bean roasting to get the roasting temperature of arabica using thermocouple temperature cencor. Temperature monitoring is controlled by microcontroller. The suitable temperature set of roasting process determine the temperature of three conditions, they are light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. Roasting temperature set of the coffee bean have a goal to get the best quality of coffee bean.

Abstract

The number of vehicles increasing day by day. It will trigger the demand of parking area, especially for car park. To overcome this problem, we offer a solution, by creating a miniatur car parking. This Car park only for members whose can park their car in it. Each car will be equiped by a RFId tag (RFid card) and the RFId sensor (Radio Frequency Identification) which will detecting this card . The main function of the RFid card is to detecting every car come and go from the car parking area. The data are readed from the card need to be checked and verified with the database of member identification (Id) by using Visual Basic 6.0 as the interface. The serial port RS 232 used as the interface to connect RFId sensor and Personal computer. The program in AT89S51 microcontroller will control the motor rotation for opening or closing the parking area gate.

Abstract

The design of a prototype train ticket detector system using RFID-based microcontrollers has been made for replacing manual methods that still require officers to check tickets. This tool becomes a useful thing for a passenger to make easier going into the train departure room. The system made consists of 2 RFID units, 2 servo motors as an entrance and exit bar, an LCD circuit, and also facilitated with a buzzer circuit. This tool works when the RFID card is pasted to the RFID reader and the Arduino Uno Microcontroller will process the data whether the RFID card contains a balance and is sufficient to purchase train tickets. Then if the balance is sufficient, then the entrance gate bar is initially closed, it will open and the prospective passenger will enter the waiting room. However, If the balance is insufficient, the portal remains closed and the buzzer will be active and the balance will be displayed on the LCD. Furthermore, by pasting the RFID card on the exit portal crossbar to the RFID reader so the portal on the exit will open.

Abstract

The era of technology is developing rapidly along with the needs, various problems that arise can be overcome with technology. Internet Of Things (IOT) based car vehicle security system, using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller and a smartphone equipped with emergency safety features with accuracy and precision that support the realization of an interactive security system. This research starts from making the physical form of a car safety device with a control system using a microcontroller, programming the microcontroller and measuring system performance. Based on the test, it can be concluded, where this tool can function properly by combining hardware and software, namely the response time of the MCU Node sending messages to the owner's cellphone via telegram is 5.88 seconds. The security system can be monitored in real time without any distance limitations.

Abstract

Car security system is something that needs to be considered in everyday life. Often car owners keep an eye on their cars parked in public places. The car is equipped with a security system from the manufacturer but it is only local or only in the form of an alarm in the car, so it cannot be heard from afar by the car owner. So we need a car security that can tell the car owner if there is a thief or break the glass where the car owner is. This IoT-based car safety device uses experiments, namely by conducting trials if there is a car thief in front of the car door. This tool uses a PIR sensor to detect human movement in front of the car door and a vibration sensor to detect vibrations at the car door. Both sensors are used to detect thieves or break cars. The microcontroller used is the Node MCU ESP8266 which will process the second input and send a message to telegram if there is a car thief. Buzzer is used as a local alarm if there is a car thief. PIR sensor can detect humans within a range of 1 meter more than 1 meter does not detect humans. While the vibration sensor will be high if there is a vibration on the car door. The response time of the MCU Node sending a message to the owner's cell phone via telegram is 6.05 seconds. This security tool works well in detecting thieves or breaking car windows.

Abstract

Sugarcane is an agricultural product that has a major role in the development of agriculture in Indonesia. The potential production conditions of sugarcane can produce molasses. Molasses is a by-product of the manufacture of cane sugar. Automatic temperature regulation in the distillation process, namely the separation of chemical substances to produce bioethanol from molasses, namely the temperature at the boiling point of bioethanol or alcohol. From the reference I got, molasses (molasses) contains 50-60% sugar, molasses contains sugar content to produce ethanol (Alcohol). Ethanol from distillation is to separate chemical raw materials which are affected by temperature at the time of distillation, the constant temperature at the time of distillation is at 298 K (25 ° C or 77 ° F). This tool uses a control system to control the quality of ethanol by using an electronic nose. in the form of an MQ-3 sensor as a reading of molasses vapor and an LCD as monitoring the increase in alcohol temperature.

Abstract

A corn planting tool has been made by controlling spacing and seed quality based on size. The aim of this research is to make a prototype corn planting tool with plant spacing and seed quality control based on microcontroller controlled size. The research method starts from making a prototype, and measuring system performance. The results of measuring the performance of the tool are indicated by an error in the reading of the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor at a point of 2 cm with an error value of 10% which is close to the actual measurement value, while for reading the distance on the ultrasonic sensor at a point > 2 cm it can be said to be constant to the actual distance. The test results of the BTS7960 motor driver work according to the system work description and are able to control the pulse width modulation (PWM) and the direction of rotation of the DC motor properly. The 28BYJ-48 stepper motor can operate the seed rationing system properly and accurately to rotate the motor at an angle of 90o takes 30 seconds. Overall the tool can function properly. Suggestions for further research, can be added monitoring of corn planting results based on the Internet of Things (IoT).
