Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of basic long service skills in badminton among students at MTs Al Anwar Sampiran, Talun District, Cirebon Regency. This study was motivated by the low level of basic long service skills among students, which are an important foundation in badminton. The method used was a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of long service skill tests. The research subjects consisted of 51 students who participated in badminton extracurricular activities, with sampling using cluster random sampling techniques. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and frequency distribution. The results showed that, in general, the students' basic long service skills were in the ‘moderate’ category, with a percentage of 33.33%. Among male students, most were in the ‘moderate’ (30.77%) and “good” (26.92%) categories, while among female students, the majority were in the ‘moderate’ category (60.00%). Factors affecting these results include irregular attendance at training sessions and a lack of discipline among students in following the extracurricular schedule. The conclusion of this study shows that the intensity and consistency of training are important factors in improving basic long service technical skills. Therefore, a more structured coaching and training strategy is needed, both through school activities and training sessions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student interest in participating in volleyball extracurricular activities at MTs Manbaul Hikam, as well as analyze the influence of external factors on this interest. The background of this study is based on the low participation of students in sports extracurricular activities, especially volleyball, which is suspected to be influenced by the environment, teacher support, availability of facilities, and the role of parents. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The instrument used is a closed questionnaire which is compiled based on external factor indicators. The research sample consisted of students in grades VII and VIII who were active or inactive in extracurricular activities. The data was analyzed descriptively quantitatively using percentages and graph visualization. The results showed that most students (53.80%) were in the category of low interest in volleyball extracurriculars, followed by students with high interest (35.90%), very high (7.70%), and very low (2.60%). These findings suggest that external factors have a significant influence on student interest. Lack of environmental support, limited facilities, and lack of involvement of teachers and parents are the main causes of low student interest. In conclusion, increasing students' interest in volleyball extracurricular activities requires intervention from the school through strengthening the role of coaches, improving infrastructure, and collaboration with parents. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of more effective extracurricular coaching strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the use of video-based learning media on the understanding of the concept of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) of high school grade XI students. The main focus of the study was on simple movement skills in floor gymnastics activities. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two groups, namely a small-scale class (XI MIPA 5) and a large-scale class (XI MIPA 3) at SMA Negeri 8 Cirebon. The research instrument used concept understanding tests before and after treatment (pretest and posttest). The results of the data analysis showed that there was a significant increase in the understanding of the concept of PJOK after the use of learning video media, especially in large-scale classrooms. Statistical tests show that the data is distributed normally and homogeneously. The average posttest score of large-scale classes is higher than that of small-scale classes. The t-test showed that the significance value was less than 0.05, which means there was a significant difference between the two groups. The conclusion of this study is that the use of video-based learning media is effective in increasing students' understanding of PJOK concepts, especially in floor gymnastics materials. Video media not only increases students' interest and engagement in learning, but also facilitates visual and practical understanding of movement.

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of smartphone technology media use on student learning outcomes in volleyball passing material in class VIII MTsN 10 Cirebon. The objectives of this study include: (1) measuring the effect of using smartphone technology learning media on student learning outcomes; (2) comparing the differences in learning outcomes between the use of smartphone technology media and conventional learning models; and (3) assessing student responses to the use of smartphone technology media in the physical education learning process. The research method used was an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. In this study, students were given a pretest before the intervention and a posttest after the use of smartphone technology media to measure changes in underhand passing skills. Based on the results of the t-test (partial), the variable of smartphone technology media use in this study had an effect on student learning outcomes, as evidenced by the t-test results which obtained a significant value of (Sig. t = 0.008 < 0.05) and a t-value of 2.378 > t- table 0.6833. From these results, Ha was accepted. The analysis results show a significant increase in students' underhand passing ability after using smartphone technology media, with a higher post-test average score compared to the pre-test. These findings indicate that the use of instructional videos and interactive smartphone-based applications is effective in improving students' understanding and skills. In addition, this study also found that students showed higher motivation and greater engagement in the learning process when using technology that was familiar to them. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of smartphone technology has a positive effect on student learning outcomes in physical education, particularly in the subject of volleyball passing.
