Abstract

Online learning during the pandemic of COVID-19 is one the biggest challenge for the teachers and students to achieve the goals of learning optimally, including the goals of English Language Communicative Competencies. One of the alternatives of learning technology can be applied was Google Classroom Application to teach English virtually. This application has lots of benefits that can be optimized to design various interesting and fun English learning activities outside the classroom. Many learning strategies can be applied by using various features in Google Classroom such as sharing document, photo, audio/video file. The purpose of this study is to know how is the implementation of Google Classroom to teach English Nursing in pandemic era COVID 19 . This study focused on four aspect. Teacher preparation, implementation of teaching, evaluation and the last students response. The reseacher use four instruments are interview, observation, documentation and students response. For preparation the teacher use lesson plan when she teach the students, for implementation the teacher also use English when she explain the material,for evaluation the teacher give conclussion for material which them and sometimes the teacher give them homework and they must sumbit in Google Classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan materi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang kontekstual untuk situasi darurat kesehatan. Metode studi literatur digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan komunikasi spesifik selama krisis kesehatan, menganalisis literatur terkait, dan merancang materi pembelajaran berbasis temuan literatur. Materi yang dikembangkan kemudian divalidasi oleh ahli bahasa Inggris, ahli kesehatan, dan ahli pendidikan. Uji coba dilakukan dengan kelompok target untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas materi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa materi pembelajaran ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris dalam konteks darurat kesehatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang responsif terhadap situasi darurat kesehatan. Melalui metode studi literatur, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris selama pandemi atau situasi darurat kesehatan, menganalisis materi pembelajaran yang ada, dan mengembangkan materi yang inovatif. Uji coba dilakukan pada peserta didik untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas materi. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang dinamika pendidikan Bahasa Inggris dalam kondisi darurat kesehatan dan merumuskan rekomendasi untuk pengembangan materi pembelajaran yang adaptif.

Abstract

English Nursing Language plays an important role in supporting nursing students' communication skills, especially in facing the needs of healthcare services globally. Unfortunately, students often find learning English Nursing Language difficult due to limited medical vocabulary, low confidence in speaking, and the dominance of clinical practice. Digital technology offers opportunities to use online platforms such as Google tools for more flexible and contextual learning. This study examines students' perceptions of using Google tools in learning English Nursing Language as a general course. The mixed-methods approach was used, with quantitative data from 60 students via Likert questionnaires and qualitative data from interviews with five students. Learning utilized Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Docs, and Google Forms. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The results show that students are positive about Google tools, rating ease of use, flexible access, engagement, and high relevance. Interviews indicated that Google Meet increased speaking confidence, and Google Docs supported collaborative writing. The main obstacles were internet connectivity and limited medical vocabulary. The study concludes that pedagogically and contextually integrated Google tools can support effective learning of English Nursing Language.
