Abstract

 This research aims to: 1) describe the plot of Endang Roro Tompe story and Kethek Ogleng performance art; 2) describe the transformation process of Endang Roro Tompe story into Kethek Ogleng performance art. The data were collected by these four steps: 1) observing Kethek Ogleng performance art, 2) recording the video and audio of Endang Rara Tompe’s story ; 3) describing the video recording based on the performance and transcribing the audio recording of Endang Roro Tompe. The result shows that Kethek Ogleng performance art is influenced by the plot of Panji Endang Rara Tompe. However, in the whole story, the performance only takes several scenes: The monkey comes, the monkey meets Endang Rara Tompe, the monkey falls in love with Endang Rara Tompe, and the monkey leaves back to the kingdom. There are two changing patterns from Endang Rara Tompe’s hypogram into Kethek Ogleng performance art. The first change deals with the cut of scenes. Kethek Ogleng performance art only explains the end of Endang Rara Tompe’s story. The story of Jenggala Kingdom is omitted in Kethek Ogleng performance art. The second is changing the main character. The author changes the main character from Dewi Sekartaji into Panji Asmarabangun or the monkey.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menghasilkan deskripsi pola alur Cerita Endang Rara Tompe dan pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng; 2)menghasilkan deskripsi proses transformasi dari Cerita Endang Rara Tompe ke pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara: 1) pengamatan pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng; 2) perekaman  video pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng dan perekaman audio cerita Endang Rara Tompe; 3) pendeskripsian struktur pertunjukan pertunjukan; pentranskripsian hasil rekaman cerita Endang Rara Tompe. Analisi data dilakukan dengan cara 1) menyusun struktur pertunjukan (visual) Kethek Ogleng; 2) menyusun struktur cerita (lisan) Endang Rara Tompe; 3) membandingkan struktur pertunjukan (visual) Kethek Ogleng dengan struktur cerita (lisan) Endang Rara Tompe; 4) menganalisis pola perbedaan dan persamaan antara bentuk lisan dan bentuk visual. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa struktur pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng dipengaruhi oleh pola alur cerita Panji Endang Rara Tompe. Namun, secara keseluruhan kisah, hanya diambil beberapa pertistiwa saja yaitu: kemunculan kera, pertemuan kera dengan Endang Rara Tompe, adegan jatuh cinta, dan adegan kembali ke kerajaan. Terdapat dua pola pemindahan dari hipogram Cerita Endang Rara Tompe ke pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng. Pertama yaitu pemotongan Adegan. Pertunjukan Kethek Ogleng hanya berisi bagian akhir dari  cerita Endang Rara Tompe. Adegan kerajaan Jenggala tidak dimunculkan dalam pertujukan Kethek Ogleng. Keduaya itu alih tokoh utama. Pengarang mengubah tokoh utama dari Dewi Sekartaji menjadi Panji Asmarabangun atau tokoh kera.

Abstract

Elementary school aged children in Pelem Village hamlet have trouble learning English. Meanwhile, children have high motivation to learn English but have not been well facilitated in the environment. The purpose of this service is to improve children’s ability to speak English properly and precisely; increase motivation to learn English; and improve academic achievement in learning English at school. The approach used is community service. Lectures, TPR (total physical response), questions and answers, ice breaking, and exercise are some of the techniques employed in this community service. Based on the results of the Weekly English for Kids program, which show that: (1) the children’s self-confidence has grown; and (2) the children’s ability to learn English seems to have increased, it is proven that the children have succeeded in working on worksheets with maximum results. In addition, the village government hopes that this community service will continue to improve children’s English skills.

Abstract

The efforts to improve the reading culture among adolescents in Wonokarto Village, Ngadirojo Sub-district, Pacitan District, East Java, is something that requires a gradual process or does not happen instantly. A reading culture needs to be instilled from an adolescent age when they are familiar with writing. Wonokarto Village is one of the villages located in Ngadirojo sub-district, Pacitan District, East Java, Indonesia, which has educational institutions ranging from primary to senior secondary. However, reading culture is not yet a priority for the community. The activity was conducted out of concern for the low interest in reading among teenagers around Wonokarto Village. Factors such as the difficulty of youth access to books, the lack of reading house facilities, and the dominance of game technology contribute to the low interest in reading in the neighbourhood. Therefore, the Wonokarto Village reading house has a big responsibility in promoting a culture of literacy in its community, especially among teenagers. The method used in this research is a qualitative method to describe the current situation. Data were collected through literature studies and direct interviews with research subjects, then analysed qualitatively. The results showed that teenagers in Wonokarto Village enthusiastically take part in activities at the reading house, by reading various types of books including fiction, nonfiction and comics. They were also active in interactions such as asking questions and listening to stories from researchers, which helped to encourage their interest in reading as well as their literacy development. It is hoped that the existence of the reading house can make a positive contribution in increasing adolescents' interest in reading in Wonokarto Village.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to uncover the existence of the oral elements in the novelDi Kaki Bukit Cibalak by Ahmad Tohari. It is necessary to construct the convention of oraltheories that propounded by Walter J. Ong. This convention shows that there are severaloral elements in the novel. The oral element in the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak there areagonistic, homeostatic, conservative, copious, episodic, additive, and moral teachings.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of poetic influence from Sutardji Calzoum Bachri toward WidiNugrahani poetry. It includes sound, typography, diction, and theme. It is a qualitative research usingstructural approach. This research uses textual theory as the main method. Intertextual theory assumesthat a literature will have an existence if it gets the meaning, interpretation, and response from thereaders. In the intertextual context , poet or writer is also as a reader, the expert reader. The resultsshowed that Widi Nugrahani poetry consisting of Suratan Tangan, Paraf, Dua Tanda Kemenangan,Sendagu (Sendagurau) has intertextual relationship with Sutardji Calzoum Bachr poetry. From the poeticintertextual relations, it can be revealed that the poetry of Widi Nugrahani strengthen the aestheticsdeveloped by Sutardji Calzoum Bachri.

Abstract

As a part of the culture, folklore is important to be documented and studied. The folklore of south coast Pacitan, is still prevalent nowadays. Although it is not all documented, an effort of the research has to be conducted. Beside as an effort of conserving it, the research is also very important to reveal another side of the story. Based on the reason, the study is conducted to reveal the mindset as well as the culture system of the past society reflected in folklore. This study uses the theory of narrative structure of Levi 's Strauss . The method used is a qualitative method approach using anthropology. The data used comes from the 14 folklores taken from the South Coast of Pacitan region. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that the mindset of the past society can be separated into (1) the social status way, (2) migration way, and (3) the way of techno-economy. While, the life views of the past society in the south coast of Pacitan region are (1) complying the rule, (2) nature as the source of life, and (3 ) Peace of life is very desirable dream.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan unsur parateks pada karya pengarang yangtergabung di Forum Lingkar Pena (FLP) melalui parateks dan arena pengarang yangtergabung di Forum Lingkar Pena (FLP) dalam konstelasi Sastra Indonesia Modern.Fokus penelitian ini adalah simbol yang ada pada karya pengarang yang bergabungdi FLP dan peran para pengarangnya. Adapun objek materialnya adalah novel-novelkarya pengarang yang bergabung di dalam Forum Lingkar Pena (FLP). Penelitian initermasuk penelitian kualititaif. Data berupa fenoman yang bukan angka. Analisis datamenggunakan analisis isi berdasar pada teori parateks, postmodern, dan sosiologi sastra.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampul depan, belakang, dan beberapa halamantambahan sebelum halaman inti digunakan untuk mencantumkan modal simbolik yangdimiliki oleh para pengarang yang bergabung di dalam FLP, terdapat pertukaran modalsimbolik antarpengarang yang tergabung di dalam FLP, pengarang yang tergabung di dalam FLP juga mampu berkerjasama dunia industri dengan menyediakan ruangberupa sejumlah halaman dalam karya untuk mengiklankan produk perusahaan tersebut.Tujuan utama itu semua agar karya-karya pengarang yang bergabung dalam FLP mampumeningkat penjualannya. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengungkap bahwa pengarangyang tergabung di dalam FLP mempunyai habitus “menciptakan karya yang islami yangberdampak pada kepemilikan modal baik modal sosial, ekonomi, maupun simbolikyang membawa pengarang yang bergabung di dalam FLP mampu menempati arenasastra dalam kesusastraan Indonesia khususnya sub arena sastra islami kontemporer.Keberadaan pengarang yang tergabung di dalam FLP memperoleh legitimasi populer diarea kesusastraan Indonesia.

Abstract

A fusion of traditional and modern culture can produce a new mood in entertainment. One of the entertainment can be heard in music. As we all know, music is a form of expression that may introduce a culture. This research aimed to look at the Indonesian cultural elements in Weird Genius's song "Lathi" from various perspectives. The song "Lathi" was picked due to its widespread popularity in Indonesia, particularly on Tik Tok and Instagram. It was featured in a cover video and the Lathi Challenge, making it one of the most sought-after songs in 2020. The research outcome, a descriptive qualitative method using content analysis and semiotic approach, was employed to examine each component of the data from this song. The study's main focus was the visual, verbal, and instrumental analyses. The study's outcomes revealed a variety of cultural components in the song "Lathi" that demonstrated the song's meaning or message, especially in terms of Javanese culture.

Abstract

Kemampuan berbicara di depan publik menjadi kebutuhan utama bagi siapapun pada era kini tak terkecuali bagi remaja. Akan tetapi untuk mendapatkan kemampuan tersebut tidak mudah karena terbatasnya wahana. Salah satu peranan yang dapat dilakukan oleh kalangan akademisi adalah mengadakan pelatihan public speaking. Pelatihan public speaking merupakan salah satu upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan keterampilan komunikasi remaja, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan yang memiliki keterbatasan akses terhadap pelatihan formal. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Dusun Ngelo, Desa Jetak Tulakan Pacitan Jawa Timur. Adapun peserta kegiatannya adalah remaja yang berada di berbagai dusun di Desa Jetak. Metode pelatihan terbagi dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: pengenalan materi dasar public speaking, penyusunan teks MC, dan praktik membawakan acara. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan berbicara peserta, baik dalam aspek verbal maupun nonverbal. Pelatihan ini juga menciptakan suasana belajar yang positif dan kolaboratif antarpeserta. Dengan pendekatan praktik dan umpan balik yang membangun, pelatihan ini efektif dalam membentuk keterampilan komunikasi remaja secara menyeluruh.
