Abstract

The urgency of this research is due to the limited learning resources that support the development of creative thinking in mathematics, which is an essential skill in the 21st century. This research aims to develop an interactive E-LKPD based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) that is valid, practical and effective in facilitating creative mathematical thinking skills in junior high school students.. The method used is research and development (R&D) by applying the 4-D model which includes the stages of defining, designing (design), development, and dissemination. The resulting product was tested for validity by a team of material and design experts with an average score of 3.28, and its practicality and effectiveness were assessed through student and teacher responses with an average total practical score of 3.5. Evaluation of improving mathematical creative thinking abilities using PjBL-based E-LKPD shows an average score of 80.86, which is included in the very high category with a completeness level reaching 89.65%. Thus, the PjBL-based E-LKPD is suitable for use because it meets the criteria of being valid, practical and effective. The implication of this research is the need for further development of the model used to produce products that are higher quality and more effective in supporting the creative mathematical learning process.Urgensi penelitian ini dikarenakan masih terbatasnya sumber belajar yang mendukung pengembangan berpikir kreatif dalam matematika, yang merupakan keterampilan esensial di abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-LKPD interaktif berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan adalah research and development (R&D) dengan mengaplikasikan model 4-D yang meliputi tahapan pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Produk yang dihasilkan diuji melalui validitas oleh tim ahli materi dan desain dengan skor rata-rata 3,28, serta kepraktisan dan keefektivannya yang dinilai melalui respon peserta didik dan guru dengan rata-rata total nilai praktis 3,5. Evaluasi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis menggunakan E-LKPD berbasis PjBL menunjukkan skor rata-rata 80,86, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi dengan tingkat ketuntasan mencapai 89,65%. Dengan demikian, E-LKPD berbasis PjBL layak digunakan karena telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya pengembangan lebih lanjut pada model yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk yang lebih berkualitas tinggi dan efektif dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran kreatif matematis.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a valid, practical, and effective Learner Worksheet (LKPD) in improving students' literacy skills. This study used the research and development method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation) development model. Data collection instruments included validation sheets, learner and teacher response questionnaires, activity observation sheets, motivation questionnaires, and literacy tests. This study involved Grade VII students and mathematics teachers in a private junior high school in Padangsimpuan.Based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and local culture, LKPDs were developed that showed a high level of validity in terms of media, materials, and language. Positive responses from students and teachers indicate the practicality of the LKPD. The effectiveness of the LKPD can be seen in the improvement of students' literacy skills as evidenced by observations, motivation questionnaires, and literacy tests.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation). Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi, angket respon peserta didik dan guru, lembar observasi aktivitas, angket motivasi, serta tes kemampuan literasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VII dan guru matematika di sebuah SMP Swasta di Padangsimpuan, menghasilkan LKPD berbasis pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dan budaya lokal yang menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan tinggi dalam aspek media, materi, dan bahasa. Respon positif dari peserta didik dan guru menunjukkan praktikalitas LKPD. Efektivitas LKPD terlihat dari peningkatan kemampuan literasi siswa, sebagaimana dibuktikan melalui observasi, angket motivasi, dan tes literasi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model on mathematics learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Muara Batang Gadis. The method used was quantitative pseudo experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two classes, namely experimental class taught using AIR model and control class using conventional method. The instrument used was a math learning outcome test in the form of multiple choice and description, which was given before and after treatment. Data analysis was conducted through normality test, homogeneity, t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results showed a significant increase in the average post-test score in the experimental class. The N-Gain value of the experimental class reached 0.627 (medium-high category), while the control class was only 0.365 (medium category). The t-test showed a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. Thus, the AIR learning model is proven effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes and is recommended to be applied in the learning process at school.

Abstract

This research method used is classroom action research using two cycles carried out in the first semester with Set material.The population in this study were VII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidempuan as many as 30 people. The class that was used as the sample was class VII-2 of SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan with 30 students. As the sample is class VII-2 SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan which will use the demonstration method aided by the set material. will use the demonstration method assisted by student worksheets (lks) in learning. learning. The ability of student learning outcomes in learning mathematics inclass VII-2 SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidempuan on set material increased by 62.4% with the category "sufficient" in cycle I, then increased to 91% with the category "good" in cycle II. with the category "good" in cycle II. Increased student learning activities on set material in the cycle with a percentage result of 75.08% and in cycle II the results increased to 87.27%. For teacher ability in cycle I obtained an average activity score of 3.40 (good) and in cycle IIobtained an average activity score of 3.68 (very good).

Abstract

The research method used is classroom action research utilizing two cycles conducted in the second semester with the material of Geometry and Spatial Structures using the Project-Based Learning approach. The sample in this study is students in class VIII^1 at SMP Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan, totaling 32 students. The results of the study indicate that the interest in learning Mathematics through the Project-Based Learning method among grade VIII^1 students at SMP Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan in the 2023/2024 academic year increased. This can be seen from the increase in the average initial test score of 57.34%. The students’ learning interest test scores in cycle I meeting I were 66.6 and in meeting II were 80 with an average score of 73.3%. In cycle II meeting III, the students’ learning interest test scores were 86.6 and in meeting IV were 100 with an average score of 93.3%. Meanwhile, the results of the teacher’s observations in cycle I meeting I were 66.6 and in meeting II were 79.1 with an average score of 72.85. In cycle II meeting II, the teacher’s observation results were 83.33 and in cycle IV were 95.83 with an average score of 89.55%.

Abstract

This class action research aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the drill method in improving the critical thinking skills of grade VIII students in learning mathematics of chance material. The results showed a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills after the systematic and gradual application of the drill method. The average pre-test score in Cycle I increased from 52.00 to 71.33 with an N-Gain of 0.40 (medium category), and in Cycle II it increased further to 84.67 with an N-Gain of 0.47 (medium category). In addition, the percentage of student learning completeness increased from 53.33% in Cycle I to 86.67% in Cycle II. This improvement was also supported by students' increased active participation, seen from their courage to answer questions, ask questions, and discuss in small groups. Direct feedback from the teacher after practicing the problems also played a role in improving students' thinking processes and supporting the development of metacognition. The drill method proved effective in overcoming students' difficulties in summarizing opportunities, comparing probabilities, and constructing logical arguments based on mathematical data. Although the improvement in critical thinking skills is still moderate, this study shows that the drill method has great potential to be developed in learning mathematics, especially materials that require analysis and reasoning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of gamification in mathematics learning on the academic achievement of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental group that received gamified instruction and a control group that was taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, and the analysis was conducted using parametric statistics, specifically the independent samples t-test. The analysis revealed that the average learning outcome in the experimental group was 83.6, which was higher than that of the control group, which had an average score of 76.2. The prerequisite tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The t-test produced a significance value of p = 0.003 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference between the two groups. The conclusion of this study is that gamified learning has a positive impact on students' mathematics achievement. Gamification enhances student engagement, motivation, and conceptual understanding. Therefore, this strategy is recommended as an innovative approach to mathematics instruction at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle model in mathematics learning for grade XI IPA 2 students at SMA Negeri 1 Sosopan during the first semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, involving 28 students (11 males and 17 females). The research employed a pre-experimental design with The One Group Pretest-Posttest Design and used the Multistage Sampling technique. The instruments included a learning achievement test, student activity observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the average pretest score of 23.75 (very low category) increased to 77.21 (high category) after implementing the Learning Cycle model, with a normalized gain of 0.70. A total of 89.29% of students achieved individual mastery, while student learning activities were categorized as good, and student responses toward learning were positive. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle model is effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes in grade XI IPA 2 at SMA Negeri 1 Sosopan.
